After returning to the Mouri Detective Agency, Kogoro Mouri, in a good mood, immediately started drinking beer, and Lin Yi was beside him, flattering him.

Ran turned around and began gathering the empty cans.
Suddenly, Lin Yi had an idea. He opened his mouth several times before saying, "Ran! Bring me two more cans of beer!"
"No! You've drunk too much already... if you keep drinking, you're going to... huh?"
Ran was about to reprimand her dad for his lack of moderation, but when she turned around, she saw that Kogoro Mouri was deeply asleep on the table.
Lin Yi laughed, "Uncle Mouri is talking in his sleep."
"So that's it..."
This made Ran feel somewhat embarrassed.
"Alright, let me help you..." Lin Yi, in a good mood, offered to help Ran wash the dishes.
"No need... I can do it myself."

Suddenly, Lin Yi understood and exclaimed, "So... when you harassed me in the bathroom that day... it was to get my attention?"
Hearing this, both Ran and Sonoko got goosebumps, looking at Murai in shock.
"No... it can't be true? I never expected your sexual orientation, Murai, to be this!"
"What... ~~ how perverted... though I like you, not for Lin Yi! You should look for another boyfriend! When you succeed, let me know, I'll prepare a gift for you," Sonoko said with a laugh.
Murai was stunned by how exaggerated the three's reactions were. Annoyed, he shouted, "You three are the weird ones! How can you think like that?"

"I'm going to read it... 'Lin-kun...' Wow, how familiar!"
Sonoko tried a phrase, and seeing that Lin Yi didn't react, she continued reading: "Thanks for your help. I'll use that money to start a new life..."
"What does this mean?" Sonoko asked, as if she suspected something was off.
"Ran knows..." Lin Yi, who wanted to eat, let Ran explain.
Ran then told Sonoko what had happened between Lin Yi and that troublesome girl.
"Ah... I see. I didn't think you were such a good person," Sonoko said, finally satisfied after seeing that it wasn't what she had imagined. She nodded and continued reading: "I have a few things I want to tell you... could you meet me at the school gate?"
"Why couldn't she say it in the letter? Why does it have to be in person?" Sonoko asked Lin Yi.
"Why are you looking at me? I didn't write the letter," Lin Yi, somewhat resigned, replied, but seeing her a little jealous, he felt very pleased.
"Sonoko, you're overthinking it," Ran said. "She probably just wants to thank Lin in person."
Ran, more optimistic, replied, "After all, Lin gave her two million... it's normal for her to want to thank him in person, right?"
Ran's words made sense, and Sonoko, after thinking about it, realized that Yoshino Kasaka, being just a troublesome girl, couldn't really compete with them.
With that in mind, Sonoko, somewhat calmer, handed the letter to Lin Yi and asked, "Are you going to see her?"
"I didn't help her expecting her thanks," Lin Yi replied indifferently. He crumpled the letter and envelope into a ball and threw it straight into the trash can with precision: "I'm not going."
At this response, Sonoko felt very satisfied.
