Chapter 9: Chapter 9

The village lay in ruins. The destruction caused by Ketergia's forces was widespread, with houses burned and crops destroyed. Despite the devastation, the villagers were not giving up. They worked together, gathering what they could, fixing broken fences, and attempting to rebuild the small community that had once flourished.

As they worked, a shadowed figure emerged from the trees at the edge of the village. The person wore a dark cloak, their face hidden, and they moved silently, slipping between the ruined houses. Some of the villagers, noticing the figure's sudden appearance, stopped what they were doing. A murmur spread through the group, confusion and cautious hope rising in the air.

One of the older villagers, squinting at the figure, gasped and whispered, "Wait, aren't you... A—?"

The figure paused and turned slightly, a calm and steady presence in the chaos of the destruction. Slowly, the figure nodded. "Yes," came the reply, the voice muffled by the cloak but carrying an undeniable authority. "I've made it to Grade 3. It's been a long journey, but I'm here now."

A wave of relief washed over the villagers, their eyes wide with recognition. The older man continued, smiling through his exhaustion. "Nice one, kid. Thank you for helping us."

The cloaked figure, eyes softening behind the hood, bowed their head slightly in apology. "I'm sorry for what happened here," they said softly, their voice tinged with regret. "But I can help. I'll make sure you have enough to survive."

Without another word, the figure raised their hand, and a series of carts appeared, loaded with food and supplies. "Take these. Hide them. Stay safe," the figure instructed, glancing around warily. "I'll protect you. Don't worry."

As the villagers began to thank the mysterious figure and hurried to carry the carts to safety, the cloaked person turned and began walking away, their movements steady and purposeful.

The villagers watched, unsure of who the stranger was or where they had come from, but they knew one thing for sure: this was someone powerful. They had seen the Grade 3 rank, and they knew what it meant. But the question remained... Who could this person be?

The figure disappeared into the shadows, leaving the villagers to wonder if they would ever learn the true identity of the mysterious knight who had come to their aid.
