Chapter 193: Not the Limit
"Just before the androids appeared, the legendary warrior Son Goku died from a viral heart disease."
"What? The Son Goku from your world died early because of a heart disease?"
Upon hearing Trunks' words, everyone was stunned. Bulma, with a serious expression, turned to look at Goku, who stood nearby.
"Goku, come with me to the lab for a physical checkup later!"
"Huh? Another checkup? Do I really have to?"
In the past, Bulma often conducted various tests on Yuujin and Goku to study the transformation of Super Saiyans. Goku hated being subjected to all kinds of scans in the capsule or having blood drawn, making physical exams one of her least favorite things.
"Listen to me; this is extremely important."
Bulma gently patted Goku's head and added.
Although the Goku in this world wasn't the same as the Son Goku from Trunks' world, they couldn't take any chances. If Goku developed a similar severe heart condition and they failed to detect it in time, the consequences would be dire.
"Fine, then…"
Knowing that Bulma was looking out for her, Goku reluctantly agreed.
"We can deal with the checkup later," Yuujin interjected. "Trunks, you traveled 20 years back in time to find your world's Son Goku, correct?"
"Yes."
"My mother often said that if Goku hadn't died, our world might not have been destroyed by the androids."
"In my timeline, a cure for the heart disease was developed, and after years of research, my mother even created a time machine."
"She sent me back 20 years to deliver the medicine to Goku and warn him about the androids, so he and his companions could prepare to defeat them and save our world."
At this point, Trunks' voice grew heavy with emotion.
For years, his mother had sacrificed so much for this plan. But instead of traveling 20 years back in his own timeline, he had arrived in a completely different world—one that only resembled his own.
In this world, Son Goku had become Son Goku (a woman), Vegeta was now Vegeta (a woman), and even his mother had become Yuujin's wife. Their plan had completely failed.
"I see…"
"But if what you said is true, and your mother from that world was able to create a time machine, then she must have understood the basics of time paradoxes."
"According to the principles of time paradoxes, it's impossible to travel to the past or future within the same universe. A time machine can only transport you to a parallel universe, like this one. And even if you make changes here, it won't affect your timeline's future."
Bulma furrowed her brows as she explained.
"What? Our future can't be changed at all?"
"Then why did Mother…?"
Shocked, Trunks took two steps back.
If their future couldn't be changed from the start, why had his mother worked so hard to create the time machine?
"Perhaps your mother didn't want other worlds to suffer the same fate as yours."
"Trunks, your mother is a remarkable and kind-hearted woman."
"Yes, just like my Bulma."
Yuujin pulled Bulma into his arms and gave her a firm kiss, causing her to roll her eyes but secretly feel pleased by the praise.
"Maybe you're right…"
Thinking of his mother's personality, Trunks couldn't help but smile bitterly.
"Yuujin-san, Goku-san, please take this medicine as well. I don't know if you'll ever need it, but it's better to be prepared."
Though Trunks was still unsettled by everything, as a seasoned warrior, he quickly collected himself and handed the heart disease cure to Yuujin.
"Also, please be cautious about the androids. But given the power of this world, you probably won't have too much trouble handling them."
Yuujin accepted the medicine and nodded.
"Thank you, Trunks. We'll be careful."
"So, what do you plan to do next?"
"I'm going back to my world immediately."
"In my world, I'm the last warrior left. Although I can't defeat the androids, I can at least hold them off for a while. Without me, my mother and the remaining survivors would be killed quickly."
"Hmph, how foolish. If you can't defeat those androids, returning will only delay your destruction."
Vegeta snorted coldly, her disdain evident.
"Though harsh, Vegeta isn't wrong," Yuujin said thoughtfully. "Trunks, stay here for a while and train with us. Once you're strong enough to face the androids, then go back."
Trunks hesitated for a moment but ultimately shook his head.
"Sorry, Yuujin-san. I can't stay in this world for long."
"Besides, no matter how much I train, I doubt I can surpass the androids' overwhelming power."
"I…"
Before Trunks could finish, Vegeta suddenly appeared in front of him and punched him hard in the stomach.
"Ugh…"
"Vegeta! What are you doing?"
Doubling over in pain, Trunks stumbled back, while Bulma and the others gasped in shock. Vegeta, as usual, was acting irrationally.
Ignoring the commotion, Vegeta coldly stared down at Trunks.
"We Saiyans are the strongest warriors in the universe. We grow stronger the more we fight, and we have no limits."
"How dare you spout such cowardly nonsense? No wonder your world was destroyed by androids!"
"F-Father…"
"I'm not your father!"
With an explosive surge of energy, Vegeta elbowed Trunks into the ground, shaking the entire Lookout.
"Enough, Vegeta. He's still a child."
Yuujin intervened, stopping Vegeta from striking again and helping Trunks to his feet.
"Trunks, you shouldn't underestimate yourself."
"Super Saiyan isn't our limit. What you've achieved is just the first stage, which we call Super Saiyan 1. Beyond that, there's Super Saiyan 2, 3, and even 4. A Saiyan's power is far from capped."
Yuujin wasn't basing this on original lore but on Bulma's research. Based on Saiyan genetic data, even after achieving Super Saiyan, further transformations—Stages 2, 3, and even 4—were theoretically possible. So far, they hadn't discovered the limits of Saiyan transformations.
"Super Saiyan 2… Super Saiyan 3…"
Trunks murmured in awe. He had never imagined Super Saiyan could evolve further.
"Those are still far off. But with your potential, fully mastering Super Saiyan 1 should be enough to defeat the androids."
"As for time, don't worry. On this Lookout, there's a Hyperbolic Time Chamber. A year of training inside equals just one day outside. It won't take up much of your time."
"So, Trunks, what's your decision?"
Yuujin wasn't about to let Trunks' efforts go to waste. If Trunks trained with them for just a year, Yuujin was confident he'd be strong enough to confront the androids.
After some deliberation, and seeing Vegeta's icy gaze, Trunks finally resolved himself.
"Yuujin-san, please train me. Make me stronger—strong enough to protect my world!"
