The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system

Chapter 45: My house, my rules

Caishen followed her to the dining table without argument and took his sit.

Alix took the chair next to his, unlike breakfast time when she had sat one chair down from him.

She smiled when she noticed the matching plates, glasses and cutlery. This was everything she had picked out for them both.

For a silly reason, she got the urge to take a picture, and so she did.

She even posted the picture on her weibo.

The sad sparrow will sing again: [Family dinner, thank you husband for the beautiful dinner set.]

With a secret smile on her lips, she looked at Xiaobo and gave him a thumbs up.

At this time, Wang Ma came over with nanny Luo and placed hot food on the table.

"Aunt, pork dumplings, I like pork dumplings." Xiaobo told Alix.

As if in agreement with him, the cat on Caishen's lap meowed as well, it's keen eyes on the steaming dish of dumplings.

Caishen rubbed the cat's ears and laughed. What a greedy little thing it was. It had already eaten two whole cans of very expensive cat food and already it was hungry.

He touched it's round stomach and wondered where all the food it ate had gone.

"Alix, what kind of breed is this little baby?" He asked, his eyes roaming over it's body.

It looked like an ordinary cat but he couldn't say what it was about it that seemed not so ordinary.

It was too young to be house trained but it was. It was also very clever, and extremely needy.

As for his headaches in relation to it, that matter was still a great puzzle to him.

"I don't really know." She answered.

"Where did you buy it?" He asked her.

"It was a gift from the kid who went around with the old man that treated my fingers. He said it was a lucky cat but I am not sure how true that is."

While she spoke, she placed some dumplings on his plate and Xiaobo's plate. She also served them stir fried vegetables, which made Xiaobo pout. Obviously he was not a fan.

"The kid might have been right, this baby really saved my life. I think I should call it baby, don't you think so?"

Caishen got a smaller plate and placed one dumpling on it.

The cat leaped on it quickly, and tore into it slowly.

"Hoo, you don't even serve me but you serve the cat. Tsk, tsk, what a good husband you are." Alix joked.

"Haha, aunt you are jealous of baby." Xiaobo giggled.

Xiaobo had been listening to the conversation between Alix and Caishen keenly because before he bed time, his father and great grandmother would ask for details about everything that happened in the house.

"Psh!, Xiaobo, why would I be jealous of baby? And why is it called baby?"

She poked the air, pointing in the direction of the cat which was enjoying itself with it's tail dancing in the air.

"Aunt, the cat is still young, that's why it's called baby." Xiaobo explained using childlike analysis.

"In that case, I should call you baby as well since you are still young." Alix joked.

Xiaobo giggled and shook his head, rejecting her proposal outright.

"I am a big boy, I am nine years old."

He held up nine fingers as if Alix did not know what the number nine was.

"No, baby Xiaobo. In fact, come closer and let aunt feed you."

Bending forward she held a dumpling to his mouth with a pair of chopsticks.

Xiaobo laughed again, and closed his mouth.

Caishen watched them with a soft smile on his face. He had been right about his wife being noisy and egging on his noisy nephew. But, it was a pleasant kind of noisiness. Before she came along, the dinner table was quiet with Xiaobo sulking and him on the phone or laptop.

Now, he even had a cat at the table, his life was really changing.

"Brother, I am here." A loud voice announced the presence of Zhang An, Caishen's sister.

"I brought you some Peking roast duck and mother sent fruits from the tasty fresh orchids.

She said you should only eat fresh fruits and nothing supermarket bought."

Zhang An stopped talking when she noticed Alix at the table.

"Aunt An." Xiaobo jumped from his chair and gave Zhang An a hug.

His grubby hands reached for the bags she had brought.

"Relax you greedy boy, the duck is going nowhere."

She handed the bags to Wang Ma who nodded.

This was nothing new, it seemed and Wang Ma knew exactly what to do.

Xiaobo moved back to his seat and Zhang An came around, walking over to where Alix was sitting.

"I want to sit here." She said forcefully.

"No." Alix said back, equally forceful.

"Brother," she whined.

Caishen gave Zhang An a once over and looked back at his plate. He offered baby another dumpling and tickled it's chin.

Alix turned her head to Zhang An and said confidently, "I am the madam of this house, your brother's wife. That makes this my house and in my house you should obey my rules."

"Are you crazy?" Zhang An shouted in exasperation.

Since when did this pigeon start making rules?

Her house, her rules!!! What made this her house?

"Shout one more time and I will throw you out. Try it, I dare you." Alix warned her in a serious voice.

"You.., you.." Zhang An stammered.

Alix used her foot to push out a chair for Zhang An.

"Young miss, sit down and eat dinner calmly with us if you intend to stay or get out of my house. I know that you are still young but you must not expose such rudeness to Xiaobo.

Your brother too, if you behave like this you embarras him. He has enough worries on his plate without adding your trouble to it, that's why he maintains silence when you scream like a mad woman."

Zhang An bit her bottom lip, unwillingness dominant in her eyes. She wanted to say something but Alix had made logical points.

She had no reason to behave like this in her brothers house and all she was truly doing was making a fool of herself in front of Xiaobo.

"Hmph," she sat down and sulked.

Caishen covered his face with his hands and laughed silently.

Zhang An had really met her match in the form of Alix.

Maybe his wife would be the one to curb her spoiled nature where he had tried and failed.

Alix picked more dumplings for Caishen and Xiaobo.

"Eat, stop feeding baby." She told Caishen.

"En." He smiled and picked up and bit into the food she chose for him.

Wang Ma brought the Peking duck, it had been cut into slices and placed neatly on a plate.

She brought the plate closer to Alix's side and placed it down.

"Thank you Wang Ma." She smiled, and said.

"It's my job young madam." Wang Ma responded and then she left.

Zhang An was Itching to explode with an aggressive response rebuking Wang Ma's behavior. She was the one who brought the duck so why was it presented to Alix?

She watched Alix serve Caishen and Xiaobo.

Even the stupid baby, their cat got a piece. She on the other hand had to serve herself. Wasn't this discrimination?

After dinner, Zhang An did not stick around and she left hastily. She was going to convey all that had happened to her mother.
