Chapter 225: Speaking with the Mayor {225}

Keitaro wanted to know what was wrong with the curse before saving so that is why he asked it that question.

If the curse wanted to be saved then it would try its best to be saved, if not then it was what it was.

One look at the cursed face was all Keitaro needed to know that it was angry, very angry.

The curse's face contorted, her expression flickering between rage and desperation as she finally voiced her desire.

"I want to be free," the curse whispered, her words carrying the weight of decades of silent suffering.

Being bound to this world even after was truly a cursed existence, trying to live past your time is an incredibly selfish way of thinking really as, as far as Keitaro could see, for one to do that, they would need to become a parasite and survive off someone else suffering.

Taking over someone else body in order to live longer, truly despicable.

He wanted to help the curse prosper, he wanted to help the curse walk onto the other side, he knew what he had to do.

Calming himself down a bit, Keitaro decided that he would visit the mayor's office, he was sure he would get some answer like this.

"Aight let's go solve your problem, alright," Keitaro said standing up a bit, usually stuff like this would take a while.

However he wanted to solve it fast, he came here with a girlfriend and he did not plan to spend most of that time trying to find the best way to help a curse.

He will go straight to the source, the first chance he gets.

The curse however said nothing, its eyes looking at the Kitsune companion by Keitaro's side.

Akane was currently liking her lips, maybe she would get to feast on the curse rather than she thought.

How fun.

Pov change

Inside the dimly lit office, the mayor looked exhausted, he was slumped over his desk and it was quite obvious to anyone looking that this man was very stressed, the tension that was visible in every line of his face said as much. The man barely lifted his head when Keitaro walked in.

"You here to help?" the mayor asked, his voice strained.

As there was no other reason for this man to come here otherwise, the mayor had gone through a lot of exorcists and none of them could help him, he wondered if this man that come to this town just a day ago could help him.

That may seem like a stretch to think that this man could help, however, the mayor was observant, since the day this man entered the village, all ghostly activities stopped, he had slept well for the first time in 15 years, he did not have the nightmare of 14 girls trying to kill again.

Being a decently smart man and being able to put 2 and 2 together the man was able to realize that to some level, this man standing infront of him could help him.

Keitaro upon realizing that the man was able to make out the reason he was here, just smiled a bit, well this would make stuff about 100% easier for himself.

He then placed a small, ornate iron cage on the desk. "Actually, I am. And I have an easy solution. First, though, I'll need you to kneel."

The mayor's brows furrowed. The fuck was he asked to kneel for"What's that for?"

Keitaro's gaze grew just a bit serious. "An apology. To her."

Confusion suddenly appears all over the mayor's face. "Apologize to who?"

Keitaro did not even have time to say anything as alow, chilling murmur filled the air, it carried with it, the layered voices of the girls bound in resentment. "Us."

Keitaro could tell the girl was not too happy but oh well, as long as the man apologized to them and removed those sexist rules in the village the spirit will be all fine.

Keitaro's gaze landed on the mayor, the mayor froze, his eyes widening with horror, the voice of the 14 souls that were cursed and unjustly condemned reverberated from the cage surrounding him.

Their resentment was palpable.

Keitaro did wonder though, he knew that they were male victims too, so he wondered, where were those victims, were they soul-absorbed by the girls or were the girls simply the more dominant ones because they were more of them?

Question for his future self to answer.

"It's simple, they want you too, bad all those rules that you have restriction on women right, nothing too hard really," Keitaro said shrugging his shoulder.

"This village is traditional, our rules have been passed down from generation to generation...I cannot just change them like this" The man let out to which Keitaro shrugs.

"Well, I guess you alongside all of your descendants will be cursed by this beast till the end of time, after all, even if I kill it, the resentment that it feels toward you alongside the boil-up resentment of the women in this small village will build it back up and it will come back stronger than ever," Keitaro said in a rather bland voice.

The Mayor seemed to have understood the situation that he was in...well dam he was cooked.
