THE WOMAN IN A LITTLE BOX.

Chapter 3: Chapter 3.

George buys a PlayStation console.

George has been saving up for a PlayStation for more than half a year. With the extra candy and soda money that he has put aside every time he has a surplus. To save more, he has bought mostly spot food. Usually it will be more than a year and a half before he can afford a PlayStation console.

But he can afford it now.

Because he has received a letter from the pharmacy. Where it says that the pharmacy has made an annual statement of George's medical bills. And there have been some errors in the payment systems.

This means that he has paid too much for a whole year. And that's why he will get the money back...

And it is a large sum he has received. Because George's medicine is quite expensive. This is usually the case with medicine. And it is understandable that some people buy their medicine in the black markets because they cannot afford the approved medicine...

You want to do everything to survive...

He can even afford 3 extra games if they are not too expensive.

But he needs help to buy a PlayStation console.

His contact person will help him tomorrow to buy one, and they will go out and buy a PlayStation console and maybe 3 - 4 games on top of that.

That's how much George got back from the pharmacy...

George probably won't be able to sleep tonight because of all the joy, it's like a little kid looking forward to his birthday...

George has lost a lot of weight. Because he hasn't really eaten any sweets, McDonald's food, nor drink soda. But he has relapsed once in a while. Then he buys a single chocolate bar and a small soda, but only once in a while, and not as often as he usually does...

Someone says that it is harder to stop eating sugar than to stop smoking cigarettes.

And George has never smoked and he would'nt possibly know...

You can clearly see that George has become thinner. And you can see that his clothes are getting too big.

He'll soon need a life belt...

Today is the time to buy a PlayStation console. George didn't really sleep last night. Because of all that joy.

And the contact person comes around one o'clock.

George is so exited that every time a random car drives past outside his building, he gets up from his chair and looks out the window, hoping that it is his contract person coming,

but in vain.

Now comes the contact person.

'Finally'

George thinks.

The contact person didn't even manage to knock on George's front door when George opened the door.

And George has already put on clothes and shoes and is ready to go.

He is so looking forward to...

And then they drive to town and buy a PlayStation console.

In the store, they choose a PlayStation console. And the contact person suggests that George buy an extra joystick so he doesn't have to wait a while to play. Because the joystick needs to be charged first.

And if he has two. Then George can play all the time. This means that while George is playing, the other joystick can be charged while he is playing on one.

In this way, they run loop to loop while charging batteries. Almost like infinite battery life. When the joystick's battery runs out of power, he turns on the other one and uses it. While he charges the one that ran out.

Usually he will be able to afford a game if he buys an extra joystick because they are quite expensive. But George can afford four extra games. Because there are some unplayed games that are a few years old that are on sale, some games that George has not tried before. And they look pretty exciting.

George buys a PlayStation console and an extra joystick so he has two. And five games in total.

Now he can play anytime. And he is looking forward to coming home and play.

George feels very proud.

Because he has achieved something today.

And it's a small savings, and he reached the goal with the amount.

It pays off with patience, it's like the desert rewards the snake with its prey. Because the snake is patient when it keeps watch and waits for the prey to come close so that the snake can attack.

And the snake is very patient with its prey. Some snakes can even live up to a whole year without eating prey.

The desert truly rewards the patient…

HALF A YEAR LATER.

George has put the weight back on. He has done nothing but sit on a lazy boy armchair and play PlayStation,

in the last 6 months.

His contacts almost force him to go for a walk with him outside when they stop by George's,

because they are worried.

It's probably not so healthy to live like that... Maybe they think.

The contact person is coming today. And they have an appointment with the doctor.

The doctor must take blood tests and an electrocardiogram test today.

George has to do that once or twice a year,

due to him being on medication.

The doctors need to know that everything is as it should be in his body.

On the way home from the doctor's office, they meet cousin Jacob. And it's been a long time. About two years have passed since they last saw each other.

Cousin Jacob has changed a lot.

He looks older and his skin is paler. He is a bit more sloppy in his clothes than he usually is. And he often scratches his body. And he seems a little absent.

Cousin Jacob asks George if he can help clean up his garage tomorrow. Because Jacob has to put the house up for sale. And Jacob will be very happy if George can help.

And George, of course, agrees.

He would very much like to help cousin Jacob clean up the garage.

'That's the least I can do for cousin Jacob, after all he's done for me'

George thinks.

George is actually a little worried about his cousin Jacob. When he looks so pale in the skin, paler than he usually is. And he has to sell the house.

THE NEXT DAY.

Today they have to clean up cousin Jacob's house. And George doesn't really bother to clean up the garage. He would rather play PlayStation at home than clean up the garage. Still, he helps to clean up. Sometimes you have to do things even if you don't feel like it, such as work.

Cousin Jacob explains that George has to sort waste and things that can be used.

: All the cardboard and waste must be sorted there in the left corner.

And all those that can be used and sold must be in the right corner. And all small waste must be placed in black waste bags.

And if you are in doubt, just ask me. I'm in the living room!

Says Jacob. And shows him how they should be done. Before he enters the living room.

: Okey doki. Waste in black waste bags and all that can be used and sold must be in the right corner. Understood!

Says George, and starts to sort.

There is so much clutter in the garage,

that it will take more than half an hour for George to finish, so much mess is there in the garage.

When he reached about halfway through the mess, he uncovered a small box.

And the box is no more than approximately 1 meter and 20 centimeters long and approximately 60 centimeters wide, and it smells a bit, even though the box is almost airtight and yet not 100% airtight.

'Wonder if the box contains waste or something that can be used and sold?

It's probably just garbage since it smells like that. I'd better check the contents to be sure'

George thinks.

And then he opens the box to see if it is rubbish.

'whoa for that stench. god it stinks'

George thought as he opened the lid.

then he discovers the body in the box and was startled and almost threw up,

because of that stench. And then he takes a good look at the body, he can see that the legs have been sawn off just below the knees, because apparently the box was too small to store the body...

He also notices that the body is starting to almost rot and the face is becoming unrecognizable...

And he thinks

'There is something familiar about her face'

but he can't think of who it is, and he thinks there's something familiar about her jacket...

Then he fetches his cousin Jacob and says and asks

: I found this box...! What is it?

And then cousin Jacob says

: Ummmm it's just a Halloween decoration and you're not supposed to see that, I'll take care of it...!

And Jacob closes the lid of the box and asks

: Will you help me carry it to the car?

And then they carry the box to the car and then put it in the back of the car. And then Jacob says

: I'll take care of this, I'll be back later. I drive past McDonald's on the way back!

Do you want the usual?

My treat...!

Then George gets distracted and happy because he loves McDonald's food.

: Can I also have an ice cream sundae with caramel?

asks George.

: Yes, of course you can!

Answers Jacob.

: Not the one with licorice. I don't like it!

Said George.

: Of course not!

: It doesn't take that long. I'll be back soon!

Says Jacob.

And then he drives off...

Then George continues to clean up the garage and looks forward to McDonald's food without thinking too much about what is going on and without realizing how serious the situation is...

*Some readers may be thinking 'WHAT? WHY DOESN'T HE DO SOMETHING?!!!

You must remember that George is no ordinary guy! He has difficulty with many things and he almost needs help with everything.

Do the math...
