Chapter 538: How Will You Enjoy The Present If You Only Worry?
(From Blue's Perspective)
"Look at me, baby," he whispered into my ear in his husky voice. His voice was gentle.
"No…"
"Go on."
I felt the tears fresh on my cheek. The pleasure, the pain- all of that could not make me feel less miserable.
I raised my head and slowly, looked at him. His fangs were bloody and I could still feel his claws on my waist and bottom.
He looked deep into my eyes and rubbed his thumb on my lips. He pressed it between my lips and I opened them gently. Pushing it inside, he touched my fangs. I licked his finger with my tongue, my forked tongue.
"You are beautiful," he said.
"Don't lie."
"You are gorgeous," he said and gave me a kiss on the forehead. The touch was very gentle. "But that doesn't mean I am going easy on you."
I caught a glimpse of his remarkable smirk before I found myself going crazy once more. He knew what to say to make me feel better, what to do to make me go crazy. Oh, I could never get enough of him.
Maybe it was just him who could accept me for who I was.
When we finally stopped, probably at least three hours had passed. Or more possibly. I could not stand up properly. He truly went too hard.
"You scratched my butt," I said.
"That wasn't my intention, you know," he said guiltily as he was examining the new bite mark I made. "It's really cool. It's like a snake bit me."
Oddly enough, he liked the mark a little too much.
"A snake did bite you, just not your regular kind of snake," I said. "Honey, put that mirror down and get your ass here. We are going to Dion."
"You have gotten… quite spicy," he murmured.
"Spicy?"
"Your tongue. These days, you snap at me."
"…"
"But I love you anyway."
"I am grumpy because you made my whole body sore and now, I cannot even stand straight. Just look at my legs," I said, pointing at my legs that were shaking.
He smirked. "Well, it only proves how good I am at it."
'Ugh, I can't do with this man. Are all men like this?'
When we returned to our bedroom, it was an absolute disaster. We found five maids wiping the floor and changing our bedsheet. Perita was by Dion's crib, guarding him. Dion was sleeping.
There was a very bad smell in the air. We did not need to ask to know what happened.
"He did it on my hands," Perita said, showing us her hands. "Then, he fell asleep."
"You did good, Perita," I said, messing up her hair. She actually liked it and acted like a child being praised by her mother. "Now, go and wash yourself before getting something to eat."
The maids cleaned the whole place up. I needed to take a pee and a bath right away, but I kind of held myself back until they were done cleaning up, before running to the washroom. Dem looked after Dem while I took a bath and freshened up.
"I told the maids to bring our lunch here," he said. "There is no need to wait for me. You must be hungry."
I rolled my eyes. He and I both knew I was going to wait anyway. I did not like eating without him. It felt lonely.
He gave a quick kiss on the lips. "I love you."
"I love you too," I said. "Take a quick bath like me. I am hungry. And don't tell me not to wait because I am going to anyway."
"Alright. Just give me ten minutes."
While Dem took a bath, I took the time to look at myself in the mirror properly. There were marks all over my body. Some were a little bloody, some were just red marks, some were bite marks, some were sucking marks, and so on. The marks he made on my waist looked like someone scratched me with long nails. But they were probably not like the ones I made on him.
Something surprised me. My hair felt longer. It looked like it had grown at least one foot. This morning, my hair was in a half-up and half-down ponytail. It surely was not this long this morning.
"I can grow my own hair?" I mumbled. This was a little too much. How did I grow my hair? Yes, I did create a dragon, however, I could not create a werewolf organ or a human organ yet. How did I do it? If only I knew, I could create an eye in a moment.
I tried once more. I did not know what I tried, but I did try something. Nothing happened. My hair remained the same.
Dem came back and stood behind me. His hair was wet and he looked fresh.
"I am sure you noticed," I said.
"I did," he said. "Your hair grew."
"Dem… It's not normal. What did I do?"
"Blue, baby, calm down," he said, turning me towards him and cupping my face. "It's nothing much."
"… Dem, my hair grew," I said, putting emphasis on each word. "You saw it that time, didn't you? It happened in front of you, I'm pretty sure. You are hiding something."
He sighed. "It's not like I am hiding something. You keep on fearing… that part of yourself… Your hair, it was… it grew and turned into small snakes."
"Ugh, not again… Wait, so if I let myself… If I free my inner part whatever that is, my hair will grow a lot," I mumbled. "Last time when I was fighting Azure, my hair turned into snakes. They were my weapon. I think… Oh, Dem, I think I understand now. My hair grew because I let my inner self free a little."
"You are okay with everything? Not like I hate it. It's just you were afraid last time," he said gently.
"I am okay with this part, at least. Dem, I don't hate what I am from the inside. I just fear that I might forget my present self, the way I am right now. I fear that I might turn into a monster completely. I don't fear being a monster, but I fear not being able to turn back to human again," I said. "For Dion, for you, I want to be there.
I want to live with my family like a proper human, not a monster."
"We can always be both," he said. "You, me, none of us are normal. Our son will accept us no matter what we are. He needs love only and we will give him that. We don't need to be a typical family. Just remember that we will accept you no matter what."
"These feelings… I fear I might forget them if I…"
"Does Azure forget it?"
"…"
"If you turned into that creature, even for a little while, your father must have done the same. You said he turned too. He did it for a longer time than you did. And I am pretty sure he did it many times before already, judging by how old he is. But he forgot nothing."
"He is not human. He is… God…"
"And you are his daughter."
"No, you don't understand… It's different for him and me. I am not like him. He doesn't have any humanity in him, Dem. I do, even if it is not enough, I still do have some kind of moral value."

He hugged me and kissed my head. "If you only worry about these things, how will you be able to enjoy the present?"
"You don't fear losing me?"
"Even if you end up forgetting all these things, trust me, honey, I will find a way to tie you up and keep yourself to me," he said.
"I am pretty sure you can't," I had to laugh.
He did not say anything. The silence spoke louder. He was determined. And he was serious about what he was saying. But how would he even tie that creature up? It did not like being restrained.
It craved freedom. And it would do anything to get that.
I did not mention things like that in the next few days. I did not want to upset Dem by acting like I did not enjoy what was in front of me. Even though my mind was in chaos, I decided not to bring that chaos into his life too.
Luc had come over to play with Dion in his new indoor playground. I decorated one huge room for Dion so he could play there. It was filled with the toys that I bought for him. He was still too little, but he was growing up first. Maybe parents felt that way with their kids.
Dion was two months old now. Two months and one day, to be precise.
Dem and I had more things to worry about. We did not think we would have to worry about something like this so soon, but life always brought us unexpected things.
