Chapter 15: Plans for us
Kailashnath was clearly provoking Aarav then how could he(the Devil) just sit still, So grabbing another glass of wine Aarav went straight to his father and said, " Mr. Kailashnath, as you just said your son indeed lacks the ability to understand some things then why don't you answer a question of his"
Kailashnach was surprised to see his son's calmness and for some reason this calmness was giving him ominous feeling and Arundhati was starting to feel that the atmosphere was not right and the father-Son duo might start arguing anytime. Feeling the need to do something Arundhati stood in-front of Kailashnath as if protecting him,
It's not like Aarav didn't expect this, but somehow seeing her openly take the side of this man and Cherry on top is that the way she was protecting that man which for some reason stung his heart.
" Aarav, don't do anything..." Arundhati said trying to resolve the situation.
but Aarav grabbed her to his side and applying more stength to his hand held her in that position, looking at her he leaned closer and whispered in her ear,
"Common Arundhati don't you believe in this husband of yours, Trust me I won't break his head after all Who would want to go to jail immediately after marrying such a beautiful women as his wife and cherry on the top is that this wife of mine is trying to protect her 'father-in- law' how sweet? And as you already know your husband is not that foolish so just relax and remember you can't come between us next time okay, it might me dangerous darling"
His words took a total 180° degree turn from playfulness at the begining to coldness at the end and they were making Arundhati's head spin but since Aarav said he wouldn't hit Kailashnath she wasn't intending to interfere as the situation seemed to be under control.
Aarav turned his head, fixing his gaze on his father he said,
"Now father, what are your plans for us"
Kailashnath couldn't understand what his son meant and asked," what do you mean?"
Aarav smirked at his father's words and said, "Oh, it seems this son of yours also lacks the ability to ask questions let me rephrase it, what do you want our future to look-like?"
Kailashnath felt like his son was asking a meaningless question but still answered," ofcourse, I want both of you to be happy" yes that is what he wished for his son and daughter-in-law.
"Oh really, how touching just hearing this is making me Nauseous what a great father You are" Aarav said his tone turning sarcastic and the friendliness from earlier was all gone.
"let it be Mr. Kailashnath, it was my fault for thinking that the man in front of me might actually say truth at least now but you still sticking on to that drama of yours, So you play yours and I will play mine"
Aarav's words were filled with disgust and after finishing his words he left the venue.
Arundhati and Kailashnath were left there facing each other, and they couldn't help by sigh looking at Aarav's retreating back both not understanding what Aarav meant.
Whereas Arundhati's family had no idea that their daughter was humiliated as they had left the venue early and were making preparatione for her return.
After a while,
Aarav was packing his belongings after all they would be staying in Arundhati's house for sometime but even his packing time his ears were being eaten away by an insect called Madhavi.
Madhuri was blabbering about all sorts of things while he was heading towards his car.
" Aarav, I am really scared for you how will you survive in that small house, their rooms will not be as big as ours, they might not even be able fulfill your basic needs, their house might even smell a bit, Arundhati should already know this but despite that she is insisting on taking you with her, see how unconsiderate this girl is towards you".
Aarav had enough of her manipulation, but neither his voice nor his gaze showed hostility why? because deep down he knew, she was a cunning women and provoking her ire at this stage when he didn't have a proper ally could be a bad move, So he had no choice but to bear her.
" My Dearest Aunt, I know that you are worried for me but let me assure you, there is no way Arundhati can harm me and if she does then the consequences will not restricted to her and she knows this and don't you believe in this nephew of yours, you are the one who raised me right?"
Madhari was pleased to hear his words and happily led his way to his car.
Aarar got into his seat, but since he was drunk he couldn't drive it himself so a driver was called but his so- called 'family' was sticking to his companion and as impatient as he was, he called her out, "Arundhati get in now and if you don't I will just leave you here "
