The Tyrant Alpha

Chapter 12: Chapter 12

Vark Slade Incorporation Company.

~Jessica POV~

My mind was racing with worry about what my father would say once he discovered the trending video online. People were already criticizing us, some even tagging the police to investigate, while others were defending us, claiming the video was edited. My phone rang, interrupting my thoughts.

I took a deep breath to compose myself before answering. I needed to fix this mess, and explaining it to my father right now wasn't going to help.

The phone clicked. "Yes, Popman?"

"What the hell is going on? Don't tell me that video on the internet is from our VIP room! How could you be so stupid to let that happen?" My father yelled.

"I don't know, Popman, but I'm trying to fix the issue," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady.

"Then do it fast! You know I hate disappointment, Jessica. Do not disappoint me."

He hung up on me, leaving me standing there, fuming. I left my office and walked quickly to see if Eric might be around. The moment the employees saw me approaching, they straightened up in their seats.

"Listen up, everyone. Has anyone seen Eric today?" I asked, but no one dared to answer. They all looked too scared to speak up.

I sighed and addressed them again. "The video trending online is pure fiction, posted by someone who wants to ruin us. We need Eric to track down whoever uploaded it because that person will pay." I speak look at each and every one. " You all know how much this company means to each of you, so I don't expect anyone here to believe those rumors."

I was still talking to the employees when Eric finally walked in. He rushed over and greeted me respectfully. I cut off my conversation with the others and told Eric to follow me. We headed into my office.

"I heard what happened to you yesterday from the security guards. Thank you for not reporting it to the cops," I speak, taking a seat.

"I would never do anything to harm the company, Madam Jessica," he replied sincerely.

"Do you know those people?"

"I don't, madam. They held me hostage and threatened to stab me," Eric explained, defending himself.

"Alright, no problem. I want that viral video taken down, and I need you to trace who uploaded it."

"Understood, Madam."

"You may leave."

After Eric left, I decided it was time to go home and talk to my father. He need to hear what happened last night from me before he found out on his own. I grabbed my car keys and left the company.

*Eric's Space*

"Eric, we heard about what happened last night. How are you holding up?"

"You don't need to worry about me. I'm fine," Eric reassured his colleagues.

"I told you all that, Eric is fine. According to the security guards, he wasn't hurt by those people. I just wish they had caught them."

"Please, go back to work. I'm okay," Eric said, urging his colleagues to focus on their tasks.

*Vark Slade's Layer*

Vark Slade sat on his throne, dressed in a black robe, when I walked in. The vampires working for my father quickly excused themselves, leaving us alone.

"What brings you here, my daughter?" Vark asked.

"Popman, we have a problem," I said to my father in a calm voice.

"What problem? The video? Don't worry, if you can't handle it, someone is already investigating it for me."

"It's not that," I replied.

"Then what is it?"

"A strange vampire and werewolf tried to access the sixth floor last night, but they couldn't get past the fifth floor."

My father slowly rose from his throne, his expression shifting to one of concern. He asked me to repeat what I had just said. I did, and he suddenly moved closer to me with alarming speed.

"Where is the werewolf?" He asked, not bothering to mention the vampire.

"I have no idea. The security guards informed me this morning that they held Eric hostage just to escape."

"Who is Eric?" My father's face showed no trace of a smile.

"A computer expert who works for the company."

"Why was he at work at that time?"

"According to the security guard, Eric forgot his wallet and came back to get it."

"At that hour, and you believe him?"

I felt deflated, unsure of what else to say.

"Bring him to me now!"

"I can't do that, Popman. What if he finds out about our identity?"

"Then I will come over instead. One more thing, I need to take care of the cops. Let's go."

I didn't want to believe that Eric knew anything about the werewolf and vampire, but what if he was lying? If I find out that Eric is lying to us, I'll be the one to kill him, not my father.

My father took the driver's seat and drove quickly, not saying a word until we arrived at the company. He make sure to put on his contact lenses before getting out of the car.

All the staff were outside, as usual, greeting my father, but he didn't acknowledge them. Instead, he walked straight in and asked for Eric.

"Where is Eric, the system analyst?"

No one answered; they were all too frightened. They had never seen my father in this mood before. He usually smiled at the staff and corrected them kindly if they made mistakes.

"Eric Albert, where is he?" I asked.

"Madam, I saw him leaving shortly after you did, but he didn't say where he was going," one of the staff replied.

My father gave me a look and gestured for me to follow him to my office.

"When did you hire him?" My father asked as he sat comfortably in my chair, motioning for me to lock the door.

"He was hired by the company management," I replied respectfully.

"And his documents never passed through you?"

"They did."

"So you're telling me that a werewolf has been working in my company without your knowledge?" My father slammed his hand on the desk.

"I'm sorry."

"You're so stupid! I raised you to be smart, but look at the huge mistake you've made! If any of our investors find out, do you think they'll trust us with their lives again? I want you to find Eric and bring him to my layer."

"I promise, Popman."

"Start recruiting people for our project. We need to hunt down all the werewolves before they destroy everything I've built over the years."

**********************

Before Eric left the company, he noticed how Jessica rushed out, which made him approach Jessica's secretary to ask why she was leaving so quickly.

The secretary said Jessica didn't mention anything to her. Eric smiled and asked her again if she knew anything about the new project.

"I don't know. The only thing she told me was to set up a meeting between her and the Lovethpower's magazine show."

"Oh, thank you," Eric replied. He hurried to his workspace, packed all the files on his desk, and left the office without saying anything to anyone.

Eric drove hastily to the Ghetto, thinking to himself that there was nothing left for him to do at the Vark Slade Incorporation Company again.
