Chapter 293 - Demonstration (Part 1)
The other person seemed really excited and cheered, thanking her loudly before turning and walking away.
After a while, the voice came again from the same direction, sounding anxious this time: “Jiang, I’ve searched, but I can’t find the spot you mentioned on the tailbone. Are you referring to the tail? I couldn’t find anything that looks like a tail. This is clearly a standard humanoid mecha.”
She didn’t know about the tailbone… Did the interstellar world not use this term? Now that she thought about it, it seemed that she hadn’t heard this term used around here.
Could it be that even traditional Chinese medicine had declined in this world? It felt strange that even such specialized terms weren’t in use anymore. Jiang Hui felt an inexplicable sense of loss, though she couldn’t quite explain why.
After thinking for a moment, she instructed the person to stand in front of the mecha, giving her an approximate height and angle so she could send out her mental energy directly. If she couldn’t find it precisely, she could try probing nearby similar spots. The switch was fairly noticeable. Most students from Class Two had a high level of mental energy, so they should be able to find it quickly.
If she still couldn’t find it, there was nothing more Jiang Hui could do. After all, she had only just come into contact with the real mecha for a short time. She wasn’t expert enough to guide others, so all she could offer were general suggestions. Whether the other person succeeded or not would depend on her own efforts.
Before hearing back from the other student, Jiang Hui heard Stark’s voice reminding her to close the hatch. She immediately followed the instruction and stepped out of the entry module.
The rear hatch slowly began to close before her eyes, and the darkness gradually swallowed up the light in front of her.
But just as the last bit of light slipped away from under her feet, the silent and dark cabin suddenly lit up with a soft blue glow, pulling her into another world.
——————————————
Naturally, all the students in Class Two saw Jiang Hui successfully board the mecha. Whether they had already claimed their spots but didn’t know how to proceed, or were still debating which mecha to choose, they were all now looking toward the mecha on the front right side.
Ordinary students naturally sighed in admiration. No wonder it was Jiang Hui.
While everyone else was still deciding which mecha to choose, she had already boarded ahead of them.
Seeing Jiang Hui’s grand and impressive entry, the others were naturally eager to follow, wishing they could immediately hop on and experience it for themselves.
Of course, some students had already had prior contact with mecha. Some had been brought by family members to experience the cockpit, so they hadn’t paid much attention to the boarding details, and now didn’t know how to proceed. Others knew a bit but, because each mecha had a different opening mechanism, couldn’t find it as quickly.
When they saw that Jiang Hui had taken the lead again, they were all stirred up and became even more determined to catch up.
Only that one student, Man, who had been standing near Jiang Hui, had noticed her success. Unable to contain herself, she asked directly.
She was actually willing to take a gamble. After all, based on her interactions with Jiang Hui over the past few days, she felt Jiang Hui’s temper wasn’t bad. If she asked directly, there was a good chance she would get a response.
Sure enough, when she asked, the person really responded, and the method she was given was very detailed. When Man didn’t quite understand, the other person patiently provided an even more detailed solution.
Probably even Captain Stark wouldn’t give such detailed instructions. Given his personality, he was more likely to yell at them for being useless than to offer such careful guidance.
Thinking about it, Man couldn’t help but feel teary-eyed. Captain Stark was the strictest teacher she had encountered in her ten years of schooling.
Even someone as impressive as Jiang Hui, who couldn’t be faulted in any way, was criticized by him as though she were worthless. Man felt sorry for the other student and worried that Jiang Hui might be discouraged by it. But unexpectedly, Jiang Hui didn’t mind at all and calmly accepted all the criticism.
It’s no wonder she’s number one… She really is different.
Because of this, the students in Class Two had given up any illusions. No one was still smug about their small victories in the orientation race. After all, if even the top performer, Jiang Hui, could be criticized like that, who would dare to feel superior?
Although Jiang Hui was a little cold and didn’t talk much, her patience made Man feel like crying. Oh my god, Jiang Hui, I’ll stick with you from now on. You’re just so reliable…
Following the second set of instructions, Man quickly found the right position and successfully boarded the rear hatch. Although her boarding experience wasn’t as smooth as Jiang Hui’s and didn’t look as cool, with the stepping stones being a bit too lively or uneven, she still made it in the end.
Of course, all the students present, with their keen mental and auditory abilities, overheard the exchange between Jiang Hui and Man.
Upon hearing this, many of them quickly shifted their focus and found their positions even faster than Man, entering the mecha in their own ways.
Some people were like Jiang Hui, but they couldn’t control the stepping stones well. Some were twisted or uneven, and if they weren’t careful, they could fall halfway through. Others had smoother slopes that were harder to climb, making their efforts look more awkward when they finally got up. Then there were those who were more daring, directly climbing to the higher parts of the mecha and jumping into the cockpit.
In fact, these so-called boarding methods depended entirely on the individual’s mental manifestation, as the mecha extracts their mental power and shapes it according to the mental waves. The final result was essentially shaped by their subconscious.
If there was a third type of person among the students, it would probably be Clarens.
Most young, ambitious people are eager to try, even in activities that have no competitive meaning, and often bring an element of rivalry. Of course, there are people like Jiang Hui, who are calm and composed, not in a hurry, and simply following their own path.
Clarens, on the other hand, was a complete outsider. He blended in with the crowd, not rushing to choose a mecha or board it. Instead, he intentionally hid his presence, observing and scrutinizing every student’s actions and behavior.
He took note of each person’s personality, style, and abilities.
After most of the students had entered their mechas, Clarens calmly selected an empty mecha and efficiently boarded it.
The remaining students, however, were still struggling. As they watched others board their mechas, they grew more anxious.
Having observed everyone’s performance, Stark nodded slightly and smoothly waved his hand. Immediately, the rear hatch doors of the mechas of the remaining ten or so students popped open, pulling them inside, and the doors quickly shut, all within the blink of an eye.
Everyone was inside.
The next moment, Stark appeared in a mecha with the same structure, and the practical training began.
