Finally. Neraxis plopped down onto the ground, watching as the Shadow Born fell after a hole had pierced straight through its body.
Checking the time, he noticed it was now 8:00 A.M.—just two hours away from the first lesson.
Yet that did not matter at the moment, as he could finally relax and check his status.

E rank already. I'm improving way too fast, but that just means I can push things along that much quicker. He nodded to himself and began cleaning up.
It would be the perfect time to enter the astral tower; however, it would only come off cooldown Wednesday, which was tomorrow.
After finishing up the cleaning and other tasks, he swiftly headed out. But as he did, Neraxis noticed a paper slip right before his door—with a bank account number written on it.
Ha... right, the money. Neraxis picked it up, and after dialing it and sending that instructor 2,500 Crowns, he used Aura of the Abyss to swiftly get rid of it.
Since there was still an hour and a half left, he could simply walk around and check out the other facilities he had access to.
However, as he swung open the door, he noticed a figure in the distance—Celina—reaching for the door to a training room.
Before she could grasp it, Celina froze, then turned to look at him, her eyes widening as she began walking toward him.
"You are trespassing?" she commented with an amused look.
But he merely shrugged in response. "Not really. I never left this place to begin with. On that note, aren't you doing the same?"
"Gramps owns this place, so no—I can do whatever I want," Celina replied before narrowing her eyes. "As for you... what were you doing in the classroom with that Aella girl?"
Neraxis raised a brow. "You were spying on us?"
"I just so happened to go in the same direction as you," she replied nonchalantly but soon halted, realizing what she'd just said didn't make sense.
After all, Celina had come in to train at the same time Neraxis left William's room, so unless she followed him, then...
"You are a bit of a stalker, aren't you?" he mused with a playful tone before adding, "But since you already saw us, I don't doubt you also know why we were there in the first place."
As his words fell, she nodded before suddenly pulling out her phone and handing it to him.
"Give me your number too."
"..." Neraxis was left a bit speechless by her boldness, but nonetheless, he didn't see why not.
Picking up her phone, he scrolled to the contacts section, and upon noticing her contacts, he froze.
Grandpa, Mom, and Aurelia... she doesn't have many friends, does she?
It made her seem a little pitiful, but since she wasn't crying about it, he wouldn't bring it up.
Typing in his number, he sent himself a text and swiftly gave Celina back her phone.
"Here. I'll talk to you later?" Neraxis said and began walking further, but to his surprise, Celina was right behind him.
"Are you going to keep following me?"
"Yeah," she replied without elaborating, making him let out a sigh.
"Say, Celina, do you do anything aside from training and stalking people?" Neraxis couldn't help but ask.
Yet he was met with a shrug. "I need to train and get stronger faster, so no—that's all I do."
"Then do you want to spar?" he asked with a raised brow and immediately received a nod in response.
"Yes."
Unlike the previous times, she wasn't as outspoken, yet he couldn't really understand her either.
A blank page, one that eerily reminded Neraxis of himself.
"Say... Celina, why do you want to become stronger?"
"I want to kill my father," she stated as a small smile appeared on her face. "He's someone who hurt Mom, so I can't let him be—never..."
Neraxis could see her emotions visibly shift, and as they did, the daggers tugged on her waist, emitting a faint crimson glow that soon went away.
But that did pique his interest. "I'm sorry to hear about that, Celina. But have you tried to find out the reason why he hurt your mother?"
She immediately shook her head. "Eternal Night. My father is a part of that group and has been even before I was born. That's why... I will kill him and kill everyone from that stupid group of his."
Neraxis furrowed his brows at her explanation before saying, "I don't know how much you've researched about that particular group, but I do have to warn you—they are more dangerous than you might think."
"I don't care," she expressed and grabbed hold of the training room door, swinging it open.
"If I die, then so be it. I don't care so long as I can kill him."
With those words, Celina entered the training room, leaving Neraxis standing by the door with a frown on his face.
It's not my responsibility to change that mindset... but I'm not going to let her kill herself for no apparent reason, he thought and entered after her.
[What she needs is closure, and I don't believe giving her some stupid reason to live would change much,] Evangeline mused.
However, he did have one idea that sounded a bit worse than it actually was.
What if I make her live for me? You know... give her a reason to not waste her life away.
Evangeline's whistle resounded inside his mind as she said, [You're barking up quite the tree, aren't you? So many girls are showing interest in you, and here you are, responding in kind.]
What can I say? Neraxis shrugged. All the women I've met so far have shared similar goals to mine. I can't help but feel slightly responsible for their well-being. Maybe it's stupid? Who knows.
[Suit yourself,] Evangeline said before adding, [I will accompany you either way since I do also have some plans in store for the future.]
Of course. Neraxis chuckled and lightly stretched, meeting the impatient gaze of Celina before him.
"Hurry up already. I'll let you have the first few hits," she taunted, and soon, he made his way toward her, pulling out his sword.
However, unlike the previous time they fought, he found himself easily blocking her aggressive attacks, redirecting her daggers to the side, and, at the same time, finding many openings he could use to strike her down.
But he hadn't. Not yet, anyway.
These 'close' bouts of sparring continued for the next hour until finally, the bell rang, signifying that they would be slightly late to class.
With quick sprints, they made their way over, taking just under a minute to arrive and get to their seats.
Unsurprisingly, both Neraxis and Celina earned weird looks, as it was unusual for two students to come running in all sweaty.
Nonetheless, he ignored all of that and began paying attention to the lecture of the unamused Magnus.
"Today we'll be learning combat tactics. Form a single-file line."
