The Siren System Pirate

"Evelyn! Wake up! Wake up! Son of a bitch! I'm burning up over here and you're sleeping soundly like a damn monster in hibernation!"

 Evelyn woke up lazily and laid her eyes in the direction of Darla's voice and said, "Your nagging is not appreciated."

 "Well," Darla began, "Your first mate is not very fond of dying, believe it or not. And with my powers of nature, I WOULD PREFER NOT BEING IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO FUCKING MOLTEN MAGMA!"

 Evelyn glared down and noticed she was bathing in a pool of lava. With her Flame Body skill with Ember and being the Siren of Volgma, it doesn't affect her. "Oh, lighten up. Come on in! The magma's great!"

 "You shut your damn mouth and help me the hell out!" Darla beckoned.

 Evelyn examined the situation Darla was in, and she had casted vines underneath her from above but the heat from the magma had started to take its toll. "Wait a minute. Did you cast these vines for yourself and let me continue falling to my death? You didn't really think the magma was safe for me?"

 "You were unconscious, and the system told me you weren't worth saving. Or at least you'd be fine. I was hesitant but it assured me," Darla answered. "I'm quite surprised though. You're really not burning? Is Ember protecting you or something?"

 Just then, a notification popped up:

"You get benefits from being in your element?" Darla said.

 "I get benefits from being in my element," Evelyn said.

 Darla chuckled a little and asked, "You didn't consider that, did you?"

 "No, not even a little bit," Evelyn laughed.

 A few supporting vines broke beneath Darla, and she fell through and into the magma. She reacted in pain and then stopped when she realized she was fine and saw a notification:

"Oh, thank Neptune," Darla sighed in relief.

 "I thought it would be smart as soon as I saw the upgrade," Evelyn said.

 "Well thank you," Darla said as she looked around. "There was no passage from where I was, but I can see a few down here," She pointed in the direction of where the magma was flowing down a cave. "Should we move on?"

 "Yeah. Might want to finish this whole dungeon before the crew comes looking for us. I don't see any benefit of them entering the cave with the same parameters we have. Plus, since the dungeon is system specific, they'll never find us." Evelyn said as she started moving down into the cave.

 "Are you saying we're in a different dimension?" Darla asked.

 "I don't know but I think so? I mean it makes a little sense, doesn't it? Plus, how much do we really know? About our own world? I heard our world is much bigger than it is now. And past the border of our oceans are more oceans to explore. It's not so farfetched." Evelyn replied. "Look," She pointed to a landing with a tunnel next to where it looked like the flowing lava turned into a waterfall (or in this instance, lavafall).

 They caught the landing and peeked over to see then area below. No monsters, but it looked like the magma went on for miles.

 "Fuck this place," Darla said. "That's frightening."

 "Maybe I'll hibernate here in my old age," Evelyn joked. "Come on. Ember, care to give us light?"

 Ember materialized on Evelyn's shoulder and illuminated light for them as they ventured into the tunnel. They could tell as they walked that they had been headed up since they had fallen down. They reached a landing and Ember looked at Evelyn with a warning look.

 "I think we found more monsters," Evelyn smiled.

 She casted fireballs and launched them out in several directions to shed light to the room they were in. The fireballs triggered a chain reaction as a firewall illuminated all around them in a large circular room with high ceilings.

 Evelyn was in a fighting stance until she stood up and said, "That was very anti-climactic. The fuck are all the monsters?"

 "Evelyn," Darla said slowly, "This isn't the type of place where you would fight a lot of monsters."

 "What is it then?"

 "I've dealt with scenarios like this a lot in my past. This is an ultra-beast arena."

 Facing Darla, Evelyn asked, "Can you enlighten me what an ultra-beast is?"

 They heard scurrying around them but didn't see anything when they looked around.

 With a chill running down her spine, Darla responded, "Out in the world, like the sea beasts and other beasts there are other creatures called ultra beasts."

 "Are you telling me that "Yo-La-Lu was a damn easy mode monster?"

 Scurrying was heard again.

 With an apologetic look on her face, Darla sighed, "Yes." She read the look on Evelyn face and continued, "All over the world are arenas like this where Ultra Beasts reside. Nobody knows where they came from, but people try to avoid them. Though there are traps that would force someone into these places."

 "Has anyone ever defeated an Ultra-Beast?" Evelyn asked.

 "Anyone? No. A band of beast hunters? Not without losing a few hunters in the process. I've ended up in one once, but it was only for a test. Survive." Darla sighed and said, "The conditions here are not the same."

 Just then a dark figure crashed in the center of the room and once the dust settles, the system could read the thing they were faced with.

[Dungeon Boss No. 2 Appeared – Ultra-Beast]

Darla and Evelyn were staring at what looked like a large navy-blue scorpion, with on top of the scorpion, was standing on top of what looked like a woman. The woman had an athletic build and pastel blue skin to compliment the scorpion. She was wearing a skirt and breast plate that seemed to be made of the same exoskeleton as the scorpion and has a tail like the scorpion did and supported a dark blue double edge sword.

 "Welcome to our arena," The woman spoke. "I am Pisa, and this is Scar. Together we make Scarpisa."

 "Uhh…" Darla managed to get out. "Hold on a fucking minute! You're an ultra-beast, aren't you?"

 "We are, yes. What's your point?" Pisa answered.

 "Evelyn, this is bad," Darla said.

 "Why?" she asked.

 "Because this fucking ultra beast looks to be a monster and master. And they can talk." Darla said sternly through gritted teeth.

 "Is that bad?" Evelyn asked.

 "That's unheard of. And with that said, this think might be one of the strongest Ultra Beasts the world has scene." Darla readied her stance, "This system is just trying to kill us now, isn't it?"

 Evelyn smiled as she got into a fighting stance too and said, "Maybe. But I think with you by my side, we can achieve what seems impossible."

 "Your sideline muttering is annoying me. Yet, you look ready to die," Pisa hissed with a smile. "So, who will die by my hand? And who will die by Scar's?"

[Mission: Defeat Ultra Beast – Scarpisa]

"Shit! You don't have to tell me twice!" Evelyn said in response to the rewards from the system.

 Darla's jaw dropped as Evelyn charged in with no warning toward the large scorpion in the arena. An instant, but with her reflexes, Darla met her sword with the sword of Pisa's as Pisa said, "And here I thought you would be an easy kill.'

 Darla pushed her off of her and said, "I've fought fiercer foes. You're nothing special."

 Pisa's facial expression went from entertained to an ugly enraged face that only a deranged clingy boyfriend could still find cute. "With that mouth, you're going to fucking die" A ball of light came from Pisa and imbued into her sword.

A timer showed up in Darla and Evelyn's view as Darla groaned at 'Immortal Object'. "That's not fucking fair," Darla said with a tone of whining in her voice as she dodged a slice of Pisa sword in her direction. "At least it's only the attack that's increased. Not speed. In all honesty, she is kind of slow." She thought.

 "The bloody land lobster is fast! And what's with that damn tail? I'm already dodging the pinchers! I don't need that good-for-nothing tail trying to stab me too!" Evelyn thought as she ran around the room from Scar and hitting it with an added effect of her flames whenever she saw an opening. "That damn shell is too hard to penetrate too!"

 Evelyn kept studying the attacks the scorpion was launching at her until she noticed a pattern. She wasn't happy about how long the pattern was, but she wasn't going to miss the next opportunity.

 Scar's tail reared back and dug deep in Evelyn's direction and at that moment, Evelyn used flame step and grabbed onto the tail as it almost passed her, and she hung on tight. Scar was now wailing around realizing that Evelyn had grabbed a hold of her.

 Evelyn held on for dear life as Scar whipped her into walls and a small number of pillars in the room. "Ow! That hurts! This beast is quite abusive!" she thinks. Through the frenzy, Evelyn was charging flames in her gloves for the perfect moment, if Scar doesn't kill her first.

 "LET GO! YOU BITCH!" Evelyn heard from Pisa launching herself at Evelyn.

[Enrage has ended]

Evelyn let go with a smile, pointed her palms at Pisa, and let out the blast of her flames she had been storing for Scar. The flames illuminated in a large stream in Pisa's face as Darla in the back rushed to avoid being caught in the blast.

[Pisa has been defeated]

Evelyn landed on the ground and did a tuck and roll to regroup next to Darla. "Couldn't have warned me?" Darla said.

 Evelyn turned when she heard the impact of Pisa's lifeless body hitting the ground and then turned back to Darla and mocked, "You didn't die, did you?"

 With a annoyed expression on her face, Darla quietly replied, "Luckily, no."

 "SSSSSNNNNNAAAAAHHHHHHH!" Scar's angry cry screeched out and it made its way to Pisa's body.

 "Yeah, second thing. When Ultra Beast's are in doubles, it's not a good thing when they both don't die at the same time," Darla added.

 Scar's stinger impaled Pisa's body and started to absorb her body. Once it was done, Scar's body illuminated in light and began to morph.

 "That's fucked," Evelyn said quietly watching what was unfolding in front of them.

 "We're fucked," Darla said back, knowing what was unfolding in front of them."

Evelyn and Darla were staring at a man who was around eight feet tall and was had a muscular form that made Kanaka look weak. His skin is red and has fangs like an orc. From behind him, he still has the stinger tail and in his hands were two long daggers. Jagged and serrated on the blades were clear. One cut from those and six feet under would be where someone would go because there is no doctor to repair that or recovering from that either.

 "YOU KILLED PISA!" He yelled in a demonic sounding voice.

 "THAT'S KIND OF THE POINT!" Evelyn yelled back.

 "Can you please shut up?!" Darla barked. "You're literally making the situation worse!"

 "What's the worse he can do?" Evelyn smiled and quickly left her face in an instant seeing Scar's new face directly in front of her in an instant and backed away quickly with flame step before his daggers could make contact with her.

 Darla cast a large root trapping Scar's stinger that lunged for her when Scar put himself in between her and Evelyn. She backed off quickly because with the power backing that tail, it made quick fodder of the roots she used.

 Scar roared in rage as he made Evelyn his main focus and sprinted after her making slash after slash at her as Evelyn was having trouble keeping her footing as she backpedaled around the arena dodging each strike coming her way.

 Darla used Scar's hellbent focus on Evelyn to her advantage getting her sword-whip ready to subdue Scar to give Evelyn an opening to attack. She cast it out and grabbed both his arms as he made a downward strike and once down, Evelyn used a powerful flaming punch to his stomach blowing a hole clear through him.

 Darla watched as Scar's body collapsed to the ground. And Evelyn turned to face her, and her face went white. Evelyn was smiling at defeating Scar, but Scar's stinger was also lodged in her stomach. Not letting that smile fade away, she collapsed to the ground.
