The Shepherd Alone on the Hill is a Genius Wizard

Chapter 151: The Mimicker's Evolution (1)

Turan's most powerful magic tool, the Mimicker relic.

The main functions of this item were observing the flow of magic around it, and absorbing and storing the magic of the dead, allowing the user to temporarily use that power.

For this reason, its interior originally had various colored magical powers in liquid form, layered and filling the otherwise empty space, but now its form had completely changed.

The space that should have been empty was mostly filled with something like intricately made gears, and in the center, five circular orbs were overlapped as if staggered.

Inside each of those five orbs, liquids of gold, brown, purple, gray, and blue-green colors sloshed around.

"This is..."

According to his memory, the gold was the sun bloodline, brown was the earthkeeper bloodline, purple was the light warrior bloodline, gray was the ruler-tamer bloodline absorbed from Renode and other Nagin nobles, and the final blue-green was Kamain's eddy-frost bloodline absorbed from Bisen.

Clearly, other bloodlines like the half-remaining barrier, pyromania, and illusion bloodlines had disappeared without a trace.

Seeing this, Solif asked with a puzzled expression:

"Hey, weren't there more than five originally? Did they all disappear?"

"Probably."

To think that after consuming magic, its functionality would worsen rather than improve?

Just as he was clicking his tongue at this absurd situation, Meisa suddenly reached out toward the relic and said:

"Let me appraise it."

"Will you be able to?"

"Unlike creation, appraisal is a basic skill. Even if I'm not Asiz, I should be able to see something."

After receiving the relic, Meisa sat down on the sandy beach and frowned, as if concentrating.

Perhaps even for her, a powerful artificer, appraising a top-tier relic wasn't easy.

After a few minutes, Meisa wiped the cold sweat from her forehead and said:

"Its function has definitely changed completely from before. But I don't think it's a loss. No, it's actually worth much more than sharing the giant sea serpent's magic..."

"Can you tell me specifically?"

"First of all, the types of magic it can store are now limited to five. To store more, you'd have to release what's currently being stored."

"That's a disadvantage."

As Solif grumbled, Meisa lightly clicked her tongue as if telling him to have patience.

"Instead, the magic inside is no longer consumable."

Turan and Solif momentarily forgot to speak and looked at each other.

If what she said was true—

"You can use the power of other bloodlines permanently?"

"Yes. Specifically, the bloodline ability located in the topmost of these five orbs will always be applied to the owner. You can change the position by turning the spring on the side."

"This is... truly an item that even gods would covet. I'm dumbfounded."

"It's an item created by the combined magic of a god and the giant sea serpent."

Indeed, it was as Meisa said.

An item created by the mixed magic of a god and a magical beast that rivaled it—what relic in the world had ever been made so luxuriously?

But even considering that, it was still an excessively powerful and useful item.

It was truly so potent that even legendary treasures from myths would pale in comparison.

If this function became widely known, the Mimicker relic would certainly become the most coveted item by treasure hunters in the future.

A moment later, Turan received the relic from Meisa, learned how to operate it, set the sun bloodline, and hung it around his neck.

Immediately, he felt a change.

"It really works."

He could feel the natural application of one of the abilities imbued in the sun bloodline—excellent eyesight and the ability to observe various forms of light.

When he drew up magic and created light and fire, then mixed them, the Light of Judgment naturally formed a halo behind his back.

"So there's absolutely no consumption or anything?"

"Well, my own magic is still consumed."

"That's obvious. You said there are five now? Let's test them all."

Later, after switching to the light warrior bloodline, Turan had another strength contest with Solif.

Before, their difference in strength had been like that of a child being dominated by an adult, but now Turan was actually slightly superior.

This was probably because the light warrior bloodline's strength enhancement relative to magical power was higher than the guardian bloodline.

"Ugh—this is crazy!"

"I feel a sense of exhilaration when using strength intensely. It would be dangerous to use carelessly in battle."

"That's why it's called the light warrior bloodline."

After testing all the other three bloodlines, Turan's group acknowledged that it was not at all wasteful for the Mimicker relic to have absorbed part of the giant sea serpent's magic.

A magic tool that unconditionally guarantees the ability of one bloodline, or possibly two if they originated from a great house?

Considering that guardian magic tools became top-tier magic tools just by consuming large amounts of magic to grant the abilities of the guardian bloodline, and even then only the defensive aspects, this was absurdly powerful.

After confirming all its functions, Turan bowed respectfully to the two people.

"I'm sorry."

"For what?"

"We all caught it together, but I'm the only one unfairly benefiting. I'll make sure to compensate for your loss later."

Since the Mimicker relic was an item bound to Turan, the other two couldn't even use it.

Considering that part of that mythical creature's power was consumed for this, hadn't the two made a great sacrifice?

Moreover, given that Bize was also bound to Turan by soul, he had essentially monopolized three out of five shares.

This was not at all fair.

Meisa had been cut in half, and Solif could have been injured just as badly or worse if things had gone wrong.

Hearing this, Solif laughed heartily and suddenly slapped Turan's back with his palm.

Having set the relic to the Kamain bloodline after the final test, Turan collapsed forward helplessly and planted his face in the sand.

"Keh."

"Oh my, that was too strong. I'm still not used to my increased strength... Anyway, cut out that nonsense. It's cringe-worthy."

"Well done hitting him. I would have done it too if my waist weren't injured."

Meisa, who normally would have glared at Solif for hitting Turan, actually defended his action.

"Sharing the magic was our decision. It's about a friend who we can risk our lives with becoming stronger. Conversely, if such an opportunity came, would you prevent my relic from becoming stronger because your magic takes priority?"

"That's... not true."

As Turan smiled and brushed the sand off his face, Meisa carefully stood up and added:

"Besides, it was Turan who dealt the decisive blow in this battle, wasn't it? Looking at contribution, he deserves to get an extra share."

"That's not right. We all risked our lives together, so getting more just because I seized an opportunity—"

"Ah, stop being unnecessarily stubborn!"

After chatting for a long time on the beach, the three of them first used recovery potion magic tools to treat Bize's wing.

They fed her potion after potion for half a day, to the point where if it had been real liquid, she might have died from a burst stomach.

Finally, the recovered Bize let out a strong chirp and flew into the sky, prompting Solif to look up and ask:

"Come to think of it, you said the magic Bize uses borrows your power? Don't tell me she can use lightning now too?"

"Probably."

As if she had heard this from far away, Bize dropped a bolt of lightning right in front of Solif and struck a triumphant pose.

Seeing this, Solif sighed deeply and muttered:

"That devilish bird has finally gained attack capabilities too. Oh, world!"

Turan stopped Bize, who was about to drop lightning on Solif's head, and took out a metal swing from his high-capacity pouch and attached it to her legs.

Shortly after, Bize, carrying the three people, soared into the sky.

Although Bize had become stronger than before, the speed at which she flew while pulling the swing hadn't increased much, not because of a lack of strength or speed, but because the swing couldn't withstand flying too fast.

Of course, those aboard could reinforce it with magic, but there was no need to go that far when the situation wasn't urgent.

"The boat was quite fast too, but flying is still the best. It's also familiar."

Meisa spoke in a somewhat excited tone as she looked down at the vast sea.

Her two legs dangled lifelessly, which bothered Turan so much that he deliberately averted his gaze.

"So, what's our destination?"

"We should be almost there. We've flown about ten minutes past Miguel Island... Ah, I think it's over there. Bize, just a little to the left from our current trajectory." Your next chapter is on My Virtual Library Empire
