Chapter 547: Chapter 547 Ye Xingguang Has a Sour Nose while Eating _1

Bai Lanwu wanted to say that his daughter couldn’t stomach what he cooked, and she might not be willing to eat what Xia Ye Zhao used to make when she was younger. But since a family member offered to care for his daughter, Bai Lanwu didn’t stop Xia Ye Zhao and allowed him to carry on in the kitchen.

After Xia Ye Zhao busied himself in the kitchen for half an hour, he brought in a bowl of noodle soup and persuaded Ye Xingguang to sit up.

“Big brother Xia, I really don’t feel like eating, my stomach’s upset.”

“Well, don’t eat too much then, just a few bites. You’ve lost weight in your face.”

Ye Xingguang stumbled over her tousled hair, “Don’t exaggerate. My face is naturally thin. Where’s Doctor Chang and Xiaoman? I haven’t seen them for days. Big brother Xia, by taking Doctor Bo’s wife home like this, I’m too embarrassed to see Doctor Bo.”

Xia Ye Zhao sat by the bed, scooping a spoonful of noodles. When it had cooled down enough not to scald, he brought it to her lips. Ignoring her comment, he gently said, “Come on, open up and eat a little. Be careful, it’s hot.”

Ye Xingguang looked at the bowl of noodles, and honestly didn’t have any appetite. Nonetheless, since her elder brother kindly made the food, she couldn’t demoralize him by refusing. Therefore, she opened her mouth and took a bite.

After taking one bite, her emotions welled up, causing her eyes to glisten with threatening tears.

“What’s the matter, are you going to cry because it tastes awful? It surely can’t be that bad?” Xia Ye Zhao wasn’t much of a cook, and he hadn’t prepared this kind of noodle dish in a long time. He wasn’t confident in his culinary skills – especially now when he saw the misty tears in her eyes.

“No, it’s just the same taste as it was when I was a kid.” It suddenly unearthed a memory deeply buried within her.

“What are you talking about? Is it too salty or too bland?”

“Neither, it’s delicious.” Ye Xingguang’s nose twitched as she ate.

Xia Ye Zhao sighed with relief. Once she finished the first bite, he fed her the next.

Bai Lanwu came in, relieved to see his daughter willing to eat. He suggested, “Maybe she got cold because the window was left open last night? You stay here and feed her, I’ll go out to get some fruit from the hospital’s shop.”

Xia Ye Zhao nodded, and after Bai Lanwu left, he fed Ye Xingguang half a bowl more of noodles.

Seeing she no longer opened her mouth, he asked her, “Are you full now? Eat a bit more, you need to eat well to recover faster.”

Ye Xingguang no longer wanted any, she shifted from sitting to lying down, and burrowed back under the blankets. Having eaten something warm, her stomach felt much better, but her mood remained low.

Xia Ye Zhao brought her a cup of hot water and encouraged her to drink the whole cup. After she had drunk it all, he allowed her to continue sleeping, tucked her in and then left the room, closing the door quietly behind him.

Seeing Bai Lanwu hadn’t returned from buying fruit, Xia Ye Zhao sat in the living room browsing through a magazine. He had barely sat for five minutes when he heard a noise from her room. Worried, he again opened the door and found Ye Xingguang leaning over the bed, having vomited everything she had just eaten.

Xia Ye Zhao’s brow furrowed as he quickly went over, pulling out a tissue to wipe her mouth and pouring water for her to rinse. Seeing her gripping her stomach and her face scrunched up in pain, he felt a heavy pit in his stomach, “What’s wrong, does your stomach hurt?”

Ye Xingguang nodded, and Xia Ye Zhao wanted to call a doctor, but she held him back, “Big brother Xia, I don’t need to see a doctor, I might have just eaten something bad yesterday and caught a chill. It’s nothing serious.”

Xia Ye Zhao couldn’t leave it at that. Knowing about her special mermaid condition, he directly called Xia Yanyan’s personal doctor to come and check on Ye Xingguang.

By the time the doctor arrived, they diagnosed her with acute gastroenteritis.
