Chapter 550: In Her Sorrow, There Was Love
[KIA]
"... She is dangerous and yet she can't be eliminated. That is our current predicament right now. If she could be eliminated, then things would have been completely different," Kadiam said earnestly and Kia listened.
She had gotten the stench of death when she had walked in, but she hadn't thought too much about it. She just assumed that there were always troublemakers who always needed to be taught a lesson.
Now that she listened to Kadiam, she couldn't help but feel helpless. On one hand, her heart was apparently beating for the woman who was supposed to be dangerous, the woman who everyone was running from.
And yet, on the other hand, she wanted to listen to Kadiam. There seemed to be sincerity in Kadiam's words and Kia wasn't sure if she could handle all of this on her own.
"That still doesn't answer my question. You're taking me in circles, and I can see there is more to it. If you won't tell me about the white-haired girl, then what about the Lycan that was beside her?" Queen Kia asked and Kadiam sighed.
There was never going to be a way out of this like this, so he had to figure out a way to direct the queen. But then with the woman's intelligence, there was nothing that could go past her.
It was insane to think that she could be manipulated, which was something that Kadiam didn't intend. But why the fuck was the temptation to manipulate her memories so intent?
If Hawi came back for her, then there wouldn't even be a person to stop the mad woman as she had every right to, but then that was something that Kia didn't know of. Or maybe she knew of it but she wasn't ready to ask about it yet.
"When I told you we were something for the rogues, I mean the two of them. Those two women on their own and running around in the realm are the greatest danger to any realm.
They are a hindrance to peace and if you as the queen don't stop them, then we will have to answer to the moon goddess why we let the humans pay the price for things that we couldn't control.
We have to find them and bring them home, but we will need you. That is why I was insistent on you coming to this side of the realm. I know it's not as beautiful as you would have imagined, but I don't know how else to explain this.
Reality sometimes sucks, your majesty and this is just one of them," Kadiam explained and Dumi stared in earnest.
He knew that Hawi had a sore topic for the realm entirely and that the three hundred years that she had been away had given the realm more anxiety than the twenty-seven years she had been in the realm.
Maybe that's what they were scared of; An uprising from Sicario, a turnaround by the realm. Everyone would probably rally behind the most powerful woman alive, who would have been the queen, but then they all knew that Hawi was the owner of that seat.
"Fine. I understand. But before I do anything, I need you to answer a few questions truthfully. If you don't, then I will portal back to Olyana and keep doing whatever the fuck you need me to do as the queen's replacement," Kia said definitely.
Kadiam knew that she was stubborn; hell, he had seen a lot of items firsthand, but this was the one thing that he couldn't deny.
No matter what happened and how many wars they fought on this side of the realm, this queen was the only one who could ever bring back the psychos who were on the loose back to the realm.
Only she would have the power to make them come without a fight. It was ridiculous how much power the queen had but she couldn't use, but then perhaps time and tide had led them to this point for a reason, no?
"Alright. I will," Kadam said and Queen Kia smiled sadly.

It was almost like she was suddenly not sure she wanted to know the answers. There was something about her amnesia that made her feel empty and yet at the same time, it felt like having the tiniest bit of peace.
Of course, a huge chunk of her life was missing and hadn't been recovered for that long, but damn if she let this chance pass her.
"Are you okay, Kia?" Dumi asked, dropping the formalities. He knew that was probably not the best of ideas, but this was the time for them to check that. The woman who had them hoping was here right now and they had to work through this, together.
"What is her name?" Kia asked like she didn't neatly answer Dumi's question at the moment. She couldn't be blamed though, because frankly, even she wasn't sure about what she was feeling or even the how.
This was all just so new to her and her world was running upside down each day. The blank spaces were so close to getting killed and yet instead of being happy, she just wanted to run away and sleep… in Hawi's arms.
Oh, but she was screwed and she knew it too.
"Ki—"
"The truth. Don't lie to me because I will find out eventually and I won't be as nice as I am at the moment about it," the queen insisted and Kadiam figured that this wasn't the time to upset the woman.
Maybe in another me, they would have been normal protectors, right?
"Awuor Hawi…" Dumi trailed off and Kia stared at him like she knew that there was still more to this and something was being hidden from her.
But would she prod?
Would she keep asking when she had a feeling that knowing what's left in the unknown would probably upset the natural order?
But what use was the natural order when she had nothing left to her name and she didn't even know who she was before she had been told that she was queen Kia?
Was Kia even her real name?
Or was it Mrs. Hawi?
Then again, why did the title Mrs. Hawi sound better than her title of queen? Oh, but Kia was feeling a lot of things at the same time.
She hated how it haunted her, how the unknown was hovering around her, taunting her and reminding her that the people with the answers were the ones who seemed determined to keep her way from the truth.
"Her full name," Queen Kia insisted, though she was banking on the fact that most people had three names. Maybe it was a stupid ideology, seeing as he only knew that she was Kia and nothing else. But would it be worth it in the end?
"Your majesty, please," Kadiam said and Kia just stared at him finally. Those beautiful black eyes were haunting her even more than the long white hair that had made her feel giddy as fuck. In another life perhaps, right?
"Her full name or I will find her myself. Don't make me command you, Kadiam," Kia pleaded like this was her giving the protector an olive branch. Maybe they would figure it all out together, but what was there to figure out?
"Awuor Hawi Sicario… The heiress to the Sicario pack."
"The most powerful white wolf in all history," Kia breathed.
"Yes… the rightful werewolf queen."
