Chapter 521: And I Hear, Your Ship Is Coming In
[SICARIO]
"No way... I'd rather suffer until Hawi herself decided to come back… If that mad woman on the throne in Olyana wants to mess things up and try to use us to get to Hawi, then she can keep dreaming," Adolf said and the room went silent.
This was their moment of realization and they knew what they needed to do. The weak queen was trying to break them, to use them because of all that had happened and they were not going to relent.
This was a gamble they were dealing with and they had to come out on top, no matter what they had to face.
"It's decided then. We won't relent. This could truly be a way for the moon goddess to get Hawi to come back peacefully. She knows where Hawi is, but she can't exactly demand that Hawi come back.
"If we are in pain, Hawi will definitely come for us, she will come and look out for us, she will come to defend us no matter what state she is in. Let's show the queen that we can do this, yeah?" Elodie said and the Savasci knights nodded in agreement.
It wasn't going to be easy and they knew it because the queen was truly like the monster they hadn't been used to. The women were too hard on them and they had to keep each other stronger and be together.
"Let's get to work," Malika said right as the Sicario alarms began blaring loud and in insane waves. There is only one possible reason for the bells to be that loud and the Savasci knights knew they were needed out there.
"Looks like our comfort was short-lived. Let's go show the intruders why we are known as the Savasci knights," Malika said and the warriors fist-bumped excitedly even though there was a chance that they were under attack.
Well, if that was the case, then it wouldn't be that hard for them seeing as they had been so enraged and needed a way to let out all the anger they were feeling at the moment. This was the perfect way for them, right?
After all, what was the worst that could happen anyway?
"Let's go," Malika said and they smiled excitedly as they shifted into their warrior armor, ready to fight to the death. It wasn't that hard for them because they had trained for this for so many years.
In the distance, the new Sicario warriors were alert and waiting for the order from their general. They knew the protocol on occasions like this and while they had never had to use the rules, they had to wait it out.
They were meant to wait for the signal from their leaders, who would have assessed the citation. The rest of Sicario was currently alert as they waited to see who it was who was that dumb to come to their gates.
"What if it is Hawi?" Rio asked hopefully. They had missed the wolf woman with all her antics and hoped that she had come back, not because they needed her, but because she felt like coming back home.
Sicario had been empty without her and lonely, to say the least. It was like she had been the thread that was hiding their sanity together and when she had left, a part of them had died that day.
She hadn't said goodbye to her people and they had all been working together to make sure her return home wasn't chaotic. Perhaps that was also why most of the wolves were not scared of the bells ringing.
They also wanted to see for themselves whether they were right to hope or they just needed to continue keeping the faith that someday the girl they had all missed would come home to them. Oh, but they had so many wishes.
"We shall see, though I donut that she would come home like this," Theo said and they hummed in agreement. The last time, she had left them so easily like it wasn't a big deal when it truly was.
Granted, she might have just wanted them to go on with their lives without worrying about her, but that never made her last sighting any easier.
She had left and they had stayed hoping that someday she would knock on their gates or come like she always came home. Oh, but they had so many hopes, but what if, right?
"Fingers crossed," Elodie said as they walked towards the gates.
They could have teleported, but they were frankly not in a hurry. That was mainly because Sicario may not have been having the dome at the moment, but no one in their right mind would ever try to get into the most protected territory like Sicario. Enjoy new adventures from My Virtual Library Empire
They had the largest army, with half the population, seeing as part of the protective services of the pack. It was impossible to get into Sicario, because even the civilians were well-trained in combat and would apprehend any intruders with ease.
"Alpha," the warriors at the gates greeted Elodie and the rest as they looked at the alpha and then at the two figures in black who were standing outside the Sicario gates.
They looked like normal people, at first glance and they didn't seem to want any harm to this pack. But then they couldn't exactly be assuming of everyone, seeing as they had managed to get this close to the gates.
Perhaps they had their reasons for coming to this place, right?
He wasn't worried about his safety or even the possibility that the two people standing outside would try to get into Sicario. They were all armed to the teeth and no one ever got past the Savasci knights even on their bad days.
"They haven't said a word, but they also have tried to force their way into Sicario other than the fact that they intentionally triggered the alarm. It is unlikely for any intruder to ring the alarm like that—
"—so we don't even know what they want to get in Sicario at the moment," one of the warriors said and the Savasci knights stared curiously.
A part of them still desperately hoped that these two were their friends who had left years ago, but on the other hand, there was a potential risk of them having way too many assumptions at the moment.
It made no sense and it made so much sense at the same time.
"I'll see who they are," Theo said, and for a moment, Rio wanted to stop him. It was tempting, truly but then at the end of the day they were warriors on the front line of the Sicario battles.
War was about to come to them sooner or later which didn't make it all any better. Rip could only hope that his mate wasn't a victim this time because he was not sure How he would ask if that happened to the love of his life.
It was too much even for him.
But he had to be positive too, right?
"No… I'll go," Hudhayfah said and Theo figured that he could let the healer take the lead this time. Besides, it wasn't like others had much to be worried about, right?
"Who are you?" Hudhayfah asked once he was outside.
"Hello… My angelic Perihan."
Hudhayfah faltered.
