The Plot Twist

Chapter 7: chapter 6

Jasmine knew she needed a new approach. Her attempts to investigate the fiancées hadn't gone as planned, and the pressure was building. If she didn't figure out who the evil wife was soon, she might end up in serious trouble.

Interactions with the Brothers

The next day, Jasmine decided to interact with each of the brothers individually. After all, they were family members and might have insights into their fiancées.

First up was Abhiraj, the eldest brother. He was in the study, pouring over some papers. Jasmine knocked lightly on the door and entered.

"Uh, good morning, Mr. Abhiraj," she said, trying to sound casual. "I just wanted to check if you needed anything."

He glanced up briefly, his expression unreadable. "No," he replied flatly before returning to his papers.

Jasmine felt her heart sink. "Right, of course! Just wanted to offer my help," she said, trying to keep the conversation going, but he didn't respond. Defeated, she left, muttering to herself about the importance of social skills in family dynamics.

Next, she found Siddharth in the kitchen, raiding the pantry for snacks. Jasmine approached him with a smile.

"Hey, Siddharth! What are you up to?" she asked cheerfully.

He grinned, pulling out a bag of chips. "Just trying to find something to munch on. Want some?"

"Sure!" she replied, laughing as she grabbed a handful. They chatted easily, and Siddharth made a few jokes that made her laugh even harder.

"You're not like the other maids," he said, tilting his head curiously. "You actually have a personality."

Jasmine laughed. "Well, I try to stand out in a house full of—" She paused, realizing she was about to say "rich people." "Um, busy people!"

Siddharth chuckled, clearly not fooled but enjoying her company. "You're refreshing, Jasmine. We need more laughter around here."

Feeling buoyed by the interaction, Jasmine decided to seek out Ranbir next. He was lounging on a couch in the living room, flipping through channels on the TV.

"Hey, Ranbir!" Jasmine said, plopping down on the couch next to him. "What are you watching?"

He looked at her with a smirk. "Nothing too exciting. Just trying to find something that won't bore me to death."

She raised an eyebrow. "I can help with that! Have you ever tried watching cartoons? They're always entertaining!"

Ranbir burst out laughing. "You're right! I used to love those as a kid. Let's find something ridiculous!"

As they flipped through channels, they shared jokes and laughter, and Jasmine felt a genuine connection. Ranbir had a carefree energy that made her feel at ease.

**Interacting with the Fiancées**

Unfortunately, her interactions with the fiancées were a different story. **Tara** was always polite but distant, treating Jasmine like she was invisible. "Thank you for the tea," she would say in a clipped tone, rarely making eye contact. Jasmine felt like she was talking to a wall.

**Vidisha** was sweet but often distracted, focusing on her phone or her own thoughts. "Oh, um, thanks for setting the table," she would say, barely looking up from her device.

**Naira**, the bold one, was more direct but still kept her distance. "You're just a maid, right? Stay out of our way," she would say with a hint of arrogance. Jasmine found it frustrating but reminded herself that they were likely under a lot of pressure too.

**Finding a Friend in the Staff**

Meanwhile, Jasmine had started building friendships with the other staff, especially **Rohit**, the new servant. He was friendly and easy to talk to, often joining her during breaks for snacks or casual chats.

One afternoon, while they were sitting in the staff room, laughing over a shared snack, Jasmine felt a sense of camaraderie. "I swear, I think I'm going to trip over something today," she joked, remembering her earlier mishaps.

"Just try not to pull down any more curtains," Rohit laughed. "The last one you brought down made quite the scene."

"Hey! It was an accident!" Jasmine protested, giggling.

As they chatted, **Ranbir** walked by and paused, watching the two of them with a bemused expression. He tilted his head slightly, his interest piqued by Jasmine's laughter and ease with Rohit. There was something in his gaze that made Jasmine suddenly aware of how she must appear to the brothers.

"Look at you, having fun!" Ranbir teased, a grin on his face. "Don't let the other maids steal all your snacks."

Jasmine chuckled, feeling a blush creep onto her cheeks. "I promise to save some for you!"

As Ranbir walked away, Rohit nudged her playfully. "Looks like you're catching someone's attention," he said with a wink.

Jasmine shook her head, laughing it off. "He's just being nice. But I really need to step up my game if I'm going to figure out who the evil fiancée is."

With newfound determination, Jasmine decided to devise a plan. She had to figure out how to approach the fiancées without arousing suspicion. If only she could get the other staff on board with her investigation!

But for now, she enjoyed the lighthearted moments with Rohit and the brothers, appreciating the small joys in the chaos of her new life.
