Chapter 23: CHAPTER 16 : AUSTRIAN GP ARC (PART 7)
The second round of qualifying was about to get underway, and the tension in the paddock was palpable. Lewis Hammer, who had been struggling to find his rhythm in the first round, was determined to turn things around.
As he strapped himself into his car, Lewis took a deep breath and focused his mind. He knew that he had the ability to drive at an incredible level, but he also knew that he needed to be able to access that level consistently.
"Welcome back to the Austrian Grand Prix, folks!" exclaimed commentator Jack Harris. "We're in for a real treat here in the second round of qualifying. The drivers are pushing hard, and the times are getting faster and faster!"
"And Lewis Hammer is looking to make a big impact here," added commentator Mark Davis. "He's been struggling to find his rhythm so far this weekend, but he's got the talent and the determination to turn things around."
As Lewis put his helmet on and prepared to take to the track, he felt a strange sensation building within him. He took a deep breath, and then whispered the trigger word to himself: "Hammer Time."
Instantly, Lewis felt a surge of energy and focus. His senses heightened, his reflexes quickened, and his mind became razor-sharp.
Lewis's team, who were watching from the pit wall, knew exactly what was happening. They had seen Lewis use his ability before, and they knew that it gave him an edge on the track.
"Hammer Time is activated," said Lewis's team principal, his voice calm and confident. "Let's see what he can do."
As Lewis took to the track, the commentators were immediately impressed. "Wow, look at Lewis go!" exclaimed Jack Harris. "He's flying out there! His lines are perfect, his braking and acceleration are spot-on... this is incredible driving!"
But despite the commentators' praise, Lewis's team knew that his ability was still a secret. Only they and Lewis himself knew about "Hammer Time," and they were determined to keep it that way.
As the session wore on, Lewis continued to push hard, his lap times dropping with every passing minute. The crowd was on its feet, cheering and chanting his name.
But Lewis's team remained calm and focused, knowing that they had a secret weapon that could give them an edge on the track.
As the checkered flag waved, signaling the end of the session, Lewis pulled into the pits, his car smoking and his tires squealing.
He climbed out of the cockpit, a huge grin on his face. "That was amazing!" he exclaimed. "I felt like I was one with the car. 'Hammer Time' was definitely working its magic out there."
Lewis's team principal smiled, patting him on the back. "Great job, Lewis. You're really showing what you're capable of. Let's keep it up and see what we can do in the final round of qualifying."
