Chapter 25: Chapter 25 Collapse
"Huh? What's that?"
Just as Jaxon was feeling desperate, he suddenly noticed a huge conical rock on the ceiling of the mine cave, which was already on the verge of falling. Jaxon's eyes lit up as he saw it and came up with a plan.
At that moment, the Golden Mole Rat King had already charged at Jaxon again. Jaxon endured the pain and jumped up once more. However, fearing that he would hit the ceiling of the mine cave, he didn't dare to jump too high. The hoe in his hand swung out again, but this time, instead of hitting the Golden Mole Rat King, he struck the already unstable boulder.
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
Jaxon's hoe hit the boulder, and at the same time, the Golden Mole Rat King stood up again and struck Jaxon's leg.
Jaxon was knocked flying once more, and his health points were down to a mere sliver, almost killed. The Golden Mole Rat King stood there, looking at Jaxon triumphantly.
Ignoring the Golden Mole Rat King's taunts, Jaxon looked at the boulder he had hit. The boulder, already unstable, shook even more violently after being struck by Jaxon. Finally, as the Golden Mole Rat King was about to charge at Jaxon again, the boulder fell from the ceiling of the mine cave.
The Golden Mole Rat King seemed to hear the strange noise and sensed something was wrong. Instinctively, it looked up and saw a dark shadow falling towards it. Before it could react, the conical boulder smashed into it, with the sharpest part piercing directly into its body.
Although the Golden Mole Rat King had formidable defense, the boulder was extremely heavy, and its lower part was conical, so it still broke through the Golden Mole Rat King's defense, injuring it and knocking it to the ground. A huge wound appeared on its head, and its entire body was pinned under the boulder.
Seeing this, Jaxon stood up and walked towards the Golden Mole Rat King. The Golden Mole Rat King glared at Jaxon with hostility, its eyes filled with fierce light, and it let out a low, growling sound.
"Look all you want. If you've got the guts, come and fight me again," Jaxon said triumphantly, tapping the Golden Mole Rat King's body with his hoe.
The tables have turned! Just moments ago, the Golden Mole Rat King was confident that it could kill Jaxon, but now the situation had reversed, with Jaxon taking the upper hand and the Golden Mole Rat King suffering severe injuries.
Seeing Jaxon's triumphant expression, the Golden Mole Rat King became even more furious. Its growls became more frequent, and the aura of killing intent around it seemed to grow stronger.
For no apparent reason, Jaxon felt a shiver run down his spine. The Golden Mole Rat King was truly ferocious. Even in this state, it still gave him a feeling of unease.
"No way, I can't delay. Who knows what might happen if I do. I have to kill it quickly!" Jaxon thought to himself, and his hoe swung even faster, striking the area around the Golden Mole Rat King's wounds one after another.
Attacking other parts of the Golden Mole Rat King did little damage, but hitting the wounds was effective.
The Golden Mole Rat King was not passively waiting for its end. It kept struggling to get out from under the boulder. Jaxon became increasingly anxious as he watched. The boulder, which weighed hundreds of pounds, was actually shaking under the Golden Mole Rat King's struggles, and the amplitude of the shaking was growing larger.
"Whoa, seriously? Can it actually break free?" Jaxon was horrified at the sight. If the Golden Mole Rat King really managed to get out, he would be the one in danger!
As Jaxon was thinking this, the Golden Mole Rat King let out a low roar and, to Jaxon's astonishment, actually lifted the boulder with its two front paws!
Seeing this, Jaxon retreated quickly, holding his hoe defensively in front of his chest.
The Golden Mole Rat King, holding the boulder, looked at Jaxon with a mocking expression, and then threw it with all its might. The boulder flew towards Jaxon.
Jaxon dodged immediately. The boulder crashed into the mine cave wall behind him. The mine cave, which was already constantly shedding small rocks, now had an even faster rate of falling stones. The entire mine cave seemed to shake a few times due to the impact of the boulder.
The Golden Mole Rat King stood in place, pounding its chest and letting out a long roar, as if to vent the humiliation of being pinned down just now.
However, as soon as it raised its head, it saw several huge dark shadows falling towards it. Frightened, it immediately stopped its roar and tried to run forward.
But its movement was still a bit slow. The fastest of the dark shadows had already struck it by the time it reacted.
The Golden Mole Rat King, already injured, was further weakened by this new blow and lacked the strength to struggle. Subsequently, more boulders fell and completely pinned it beneath them.
At this point, Jaxon had no time to worry about the Golden Mole Rat King's condition because he was also dodging the falling rocks.
The mine cave had already been around for many years and might have been on the brink of collapse. The Golden Mole Rat King's massive body, when it ran, caused a lot of rocks to fall, which was a sign of the mine cave's instability.
The boulder that the Golden Mole Rat King had just thrown hit the mine cave wall with great force, dealing a fatal blow to the mine cave. The entire mine cave shook violently, and the falling rocks from the ceiling increased in speed.
The mine cave was about to collapse!
Jaxon immediately realized this and wanted to run outside. He didn't want to be buried in the mine cave.
However, just as he was about to turn and leave, he saw the Golden Mole Rat King pinned under several boulders and hesitated for a moment before running towards it.
When Jaxon reached the Golden Mole Rat King, he indeed found that it had been crushed to death, with blood flowing everywhere. Most importantly, its corpse did not disappear!
Jaxon placed his hand on the Golden Mole Rat King's head and silently thought to himself. The next second, the Golden Mole Rat King's corpse vanished from the ground and entered Jaxon's backpack.
"It really works!" Seeing this, Jaxon was elated. Even though it was pinned under several boulders, as long as he touched the corpse, he could put it into his backpack without having to move the boulders.
What made Jaxon even happier was that next to the Golden Mole Rat King's corpse, there was a gleaming piece of equipment. Jaxon quickly picked it up.
At this moment, the falling rocks in the mine cave were even faster. Jaxon didn't have time to be excited and immediately got up and ran out of the mine cave.
As Jaxon had just run out of the mine cave, it collapsed with a "boom" behind him. Rocks flew everywhere, and dust filled the air.
"I'm lucky I ran a bit faster," Jaxon thought with a sense of relief. If he had been just a few seconds slower, he would have been buried in the mine cave.
"But now that the mine cave has collapsed, what about Sun the blacksmith's ore?" Jaxon thought with a frown.
