The Only Son Amongst The Daughters Of Eros

Chapter 129: Beast Battle Finale

"Let's finish this, Sylver!" Aeric growled.

Sylver's body began to tense up, his silver fur regaining its luster, a rush of wind slapping against his face and his eyes glowed red. Discover hidden tales at empire

"Drex is very intimidated now, Sylver, and Melina is completely out of it. Make the attack now. Strike at it!"

With a burst of strength and speed, the Silverwolf pushed forward against the Nightpanther. Drex was visibly struggling now, even when it tried to move, its claws slipping.

Growling defiantly, Sylver leaped and rolled to the side, now flanking the Nightpanther, he pushed his head forward like an arrow and struck it on the side, throwing the Nightpanther into the air and crashing on the transparent walls.

The crowd erupted into cheers, the sound deafening.

Sylver howled once again, completely regenerated with the Divine energy, his wolf voice carrying across the arena, a declaration that he wasn't finished yet.

Aeric allowed a small smile to play on his lips. He felt like a proud father.

"That's it boy!" he said, his voice low but firm. "Remember what I said about pushing your advantage. Keep attacking!"

Sylver burst into action again, but the Nightpanther had managed to find her feet. They entered into a battle of claws and paws, swiping and striking at each other.

As he watched, Aeric's tactical mind snapped into action, once again turning the arena into a game's lobby and the two beasts as the characters.

He needed to make this a disgraceful defeat for Melina and Aryanne. He'd been silent for long, but now they had to understand that in the end, mentally and physically, they were not at his level.

"Pull back, Sylver! Come on! What did I say about saving strength for main attacks!"

The Synergy still needed work, but at least Sylver obeyed once he was reminded. He burst backwards once Drex attempted a clawed strike, then he began to prowl silently.

"Now! Attack Mode: Silver Runner!" Aeric commanded. "Flaming attacks Multiple!"

Sylver shot forward, his speed doubling as he became a silver burning blur. The Nightpanther barely had time to react before Sylver was upon it, circling with dizzying speed.

Punch! Clash! Strike!

Hit after hit as the wolf beast zapped past the panther beast, each time registering a heavy strike.

"Come on Melina! You're making this easy for me!" Aeric taunted, his voice carrying over the din of the crowd. "Try Shadow Shield. You know, that way you can block the attacks?!"

Melina grit her teeth angrily but Aryanne was even angrier. "Do something!" she yelled at her sister.

Melina stepped forward, knuckles whitening as she barked, "Drex, Umbra Strike!"

Aeric laughed. "What? You've not even recuperated and you're already forming an offensive attack. I thought you guys were supposed to be more experienced in these games?!"

The Nightpanther snarled, attempting to gather Divinity and release another powerful dark projectile. But Aeric was ready.

"Attack with Power Claw, don't let Drex create the dark ball!"

Sylver leaped gracefully to the side, as some dark energy from the gathering crashed harmlessly into the ground.

He retaliated immediately, his claws glowing with divine energy as he slashed across the Nightpanther's flank. The beast yelped, stumbling backward.

All the Divinity it gathered dispersed and Sylver began to even vacuum it for himself. Because he knew what Ability his master would demand next.

[Synergy has increased by +1] !

"Now, Howl of Terror!" Aeric yelled.

Sylver threw his head back and began to suck it all in. Silver Divinity stretched from the arena and gathered inside his mouth, swelling in his chest.

"No!" Aryanne yelled.

"Drex! Defense Mode!"

But it was too late. Sylver unleashed it all in a bone-chilling howl. The howl poured out like a silver echo blast and struck the Nightpanther with ferocity.

Electricity and darkness crackled inside the battle square, and then smoke filled every after.

Everyone paused, awaiting the clearing of the smoke to cheer.

And slowly, as the anticipation brimmed, the smoke cleared and Sylver was standing tall, one paw placed on the fallen body of the Nightpanther, as though he was pinning her for a 3 count.

Everyone instantly began to cheer!

There was a countdown going on, the announcer counting to ten, but no one even bothered to listen as they knew Sylver was already the victor.

Aeric smiled, glancing over at Melina. She was crying, and when she tried to speak, her voice cracked with sadness. "Drex? Dre— Drex! Come on, girl. Stand... stand up."

But it was too late. The announcer arrived at ten and the crowd cheered even louder, the sound thunderous as the announcer's voice boomed.

"The winner of this bastardly entertaining Beast Battle is Aeric, Son of Starlight and Sylver, the Legendary Silverwolf!"

"Aghh!" Aryanne rose to her feet and stomped the ground hard. "Useless! That's what you are!" she yelled at Cecilia.

Then she turned to her sister, Melina, who was crying. "Both of you!" she said and stomped away angrily.

Aeric watched this with a raised brow. 'Jeez, I don't know if I pity her or mock her at this point,' he thought, referring to Melina.

The transparent walls came down and Sylver hurried to Aeric, barking excitingly.

Aeric embraced the beast, congratulating him on being so defiant and strong. "You did great, boy. Did you see yourself out there? You followed instructions perfectly!"

His eyes caught Melina kneeling before Drex, petting her sadly while the beast growled softly on the ground.

'Mhm.' He thought. 'Unfortunate.'

His interface lit up, displaying a flood of notifications.

Aeric lifted his brows. 'Wow. These are much higher than I expected. Since I'm really good at it, I think I should do more Divine Games in order to gain quick XP.'

He turned to the crowd and waved at Phoebe, who waved back happily. He still pretended not to notice Delva, and then accepted Celestia's hug when she approached him.

"I think I should stop doubting you at this point," she said with a smile.

Aeric smiled back. "It's about time."

He was extremely satisfied, everyone was cheering for him, he had ruined Aryanne's day and gotten a lot of rewards in the process.

With a smug air, he walked into the battle square where Melina was still knelt before her Beast Companion.

"Hey, Melina," he called out, his tone calm but not merciful. "Congratulations on putting up a fight. But you know what comes next."

Melina's face flushed with embarrassment, but she couldn't deny the truth.

"So," Aeric continued, a wry smile tugging at his lips. "Tomorrow morning, bright and early, meet me here at school and we'll go to the Divine Artist. You'll be branded with the Crest of Obedience, and who knows? Tomorrow might be the single best day of your life."

Melina's face twisted in fury. "You are mean!" she yelled.

"Mean?" Aeric said evenly, although he was surprised that she could use that word. "Let's not make this about the pot and kettle, Melina."

"You'll pay for this you know," Melina sobbed. "You hurt Drex gravely. My mother will make sure you pay!"

Aeric shrugged. "Okay. But at least for today we both know who came out on top."

He turned around, leading Sylver and Celestia. "Bright and early, Melina. Do not forget."
