The New Lincoln Loud

Chapter 11: chapter 10

When I hit his face with my foot, it felt like my right leg stung a little, making me think that I should train my legs in the future could be good. Seeing him fall to the ground, instead of waiting for him to get up and get even with me, I reached over and put my foot on his chest and leaned my weight on him, making him look at me with bulging eyes as the air rushed out of his chest.

"I told you to leave me alone, you fucking asshole. You think I'm going to keep listening to you talk shit to me while I shut up? As far as I'm concerned you were just a little shit that I can crush at any time." I said, as I tried to use his hands to remove his foot, but my new strength thanks to training was no joke, no matter how hard I tried, I just had to push a little harder to keep my foot on his chest.

"Let me go, please..." He spoke with what little air he had left, as he looked at me with a desperate expression.

Knowing he was about to break, I lifted my foot slightly off his chest, finally allowing him to breathe, until I moved my foot to his stomach and stomped down hard, pushing all the air he had managed to inhale in that second back, even causing the rest of the food in his stomach to start leaking out.

With a shocked expression, he looked at me not knowing what to think, just feeling the oxygen running out of his head to the point where he almost passed out.

Looking at him, I said nothing and turned to leave.

When I turned back to my sister and her friend, I imagined I would see them both with frightened expressions, but to my surprise, both Lana and her friend were looking at me with eyes shining like two pairs of headlights!

"Woah, Lincoln, that was awesome!" Lana said excitedly as she ran up to me and tried to mimic the punch I threw at that piece of shit." Where did you learn to fight like that?"

Even her little friend, though a bit shy, looked at me with sparkling eyes as she clenched her little fists.

"I learned it on the internet." I said as I rubbed Lana's head and walked away.

If we had been in a secluded place, I would have given her a couple more strokes, but we were in a crowded area and many eyes were already on my back.

"Can you teach me?" Lana asked expectantly.

"Do you need to fight?" I asked as I raised an eyebrow.

At my question, Lana was silent and didn't know what to say until her little friend answered.

"Yes, there is a boy at our school who always tries to fight with Lana" she said, causing Lana to look at her in shock, as she turns to look at me with concern.

----------Lana Commentary----------

On the couch, Lana was freaking out as she looked at the camera.

"Shit, now that Sofia told Lincoln, is he going to be disappointed in me? He said a little sadly.

"The way he fought that bully looked so cool! I imagined punching Carl like that when he was fighting me at school.... It would be cool to hit. Carl like that!" She said excitedly, but soon became worried again, wondering how Lincoln would react to what Sofia had said.

------------End Comment--------------

Seeing Lana's concern, I laughed "don't worry, if you want. I can teach you how to fight so that boy will never bother you at school again."

If our mother knew what I was trying to teach Lana, she would probably freak out, as the mere thought of one of her kids fighting at school was an abomination to her, but I knew that knowing how to fight was something that would do more good than harm for Lana's future so I was going to have to figure out a way to deal with this problem in the future.

Walking home with excited kids pretending to fight imaginary enemies, I couldn't hold my anxiety and pulled out my cell phone to see how many views my song currently had, just like YouTube from my previous world, MeTube also had an analytics app where the channel owner could see the channel's more technical stats and graphs.

Opening my analytics app, I saw that the video already had 1,106 views, which was a great number, but the graph on the screen was showing me that the views the song was getting per minute was decreasing.

Looking for the reason, I saw that all the people who came to listen to the song came directly from the twitter link or from the girl who posted it on instaFlan. There were no views from MeTube recommendations, as the site hadn't released the song yet.

Instead of being disappointed by this, I was actually very excited, as MeTube had not yet released the song, so when the site did, I would probably gain more views, finally with the possibility of going viral!

Reading the comments, a smile appeared on my face.

[Listening to this song was like reliving my life, it reminded me of the constant fights with my parents and the fear I felt every day at home, but it gave me a sense of relief to know that other people have gone through similar situations and have made it through].

[Shock...I can't stop crying...].

[How come no one comments on this singer's voice? WOW, it's beautiful. @Ronnie What's your Instagram? It's for a friend]

[...]

Everything was going well until the last comment made my self esteem rise a little. I was so excited to see everything go up, the song was currently at 98% retention, which meant that at least 1,000 people had listened to the whole song even some might have listened to the song multiple times, which was a great sign!

Of the nearly 1,200 people who listened to the song, 300 had already subscribed to the channel, which was a very high number considering that people rarely tended to subscribe to a channel where they only watched one video.

The only disappointment was that the song was only 3 minutes long and MeTube needed 4,000 hours of viewership to monetize the channel, it would need a little over 80,000 views on the song to make money from it, so it would need to keep drawing to earn money, but since my artwork was selling well, this was not a problem.

When our car finally arrived at the place where the other children were? Were, Lana and her little friend Sofia didn't want to try to interact with the other kids and went to play in the backyard, just the two of them.

I said goodbye to them and went into the house, it was almost time to leave with my dad.

"Hey, champ. Let's go buy that training gear?" my dad asked excitedly.

"Let's go!" I replied a little more excited.

"Be careful, don't go too fast, Lynn," my mother said with concern, to which my father simply smiled and took the van keys.

The family car was a Volkswagen van, which surprised me the first time I saw it, not because it was a brand I knew, but because of the family's financial situation, the car was a 2006 model, already a car with more than 15 years of use.

"This friend said that his wife was fighting with him every week to get rid of his equipment, since he hasn't used it for more than two years, so the price he is going to ask will be very low" my father explained proudly, as it allowed him to help me. "He said it was a lot of equipment and I spend over $500 when I buy it, but since we work together, I think. That I can get it in two installments of $150."

Hearing this made me feel a little bad, because despite our family's condition, my father was still willing to spend $300 straight up, he would split it in two installments to make ends meet.

So I decided to tell him about my art.

"Dad, I don't think you have to pay for my..." I started to explain until he interrupted me.

"Lincoln, don't worry about it son, this little bit of money your dad can afford"

He said, trying to stand firm "you can save the money from the sale of your comics in case you want to buy something else."

"No, Dad, I don't think I've ever told you this, but I've always had a hobby of drawing characters from the comics I read, and recently I posted a drawing on the internet, someone came and asked me to draw their own character and paid me for it.

Since then I've been getting drawing requests every day in there's even a queue of people wanting a drawing." I explained, leaving my father shocked.

"You mean you're making money drawing characters for other people on computers?" he asks incredulously.

"Yeah, basically, I just started this week, but a lot of people like my drawings," I explained with a tone of pride.

I took the puppet art I used as the cover art on my song on my cell phone and showed it to my dad, and he was amazed at the quality of it.

"Woah, that's awesome Lincoln! But still, don't worry. save that money you're earning to buy something you want."

He tried to keep buying the equipment for me.

Shaking my head, I knew this would be a matter of pride for him, so I didn't insist anymore, but I knew he still didn't understand how much money I was making, so I thought of something.

"All right, Dad, but I also want to help with the household bills, how about I pick out some bills to pay? The drawings make me a lot of money."

Surprised, my father jerked his head out of the traffic as he looked at me with a mixture of surprise and pride.

"Alright Lincoln, in the glove compartment of the car there are some bills I'm going to pay tomorrow, pick one. I recommend the gas or internet bill, they are the lowest," he said with a big smile on his face.

Surprised, I opened the glove compartment and saw several pieces of paper with bills to pay. Coming out of the papers, I found a bill for $150 and decided to pay it, seriously bills in a family of 13 are no joke.

When my father saw that I had already picked the bill I had selected, he was surprised and said to me, "Lincoln, that bill is too expensive, pick a cheaper one; it's okay."

Laughing, I replied, "Dad, I get $100 for every piece of artwork I do, and I can do 1 or 2 pieces of artwork in a day, so you don't have to worry. I'd even like to pay more bills, but I don't have that much money right now since I started this week."

I currently only had $450 in me, so I couldn't afford to pay more than that, but considering that if I did one piece of artwork a day Monday through Friday, that would be $2,000 a month, and if I did two pieces of artwork a day, it would increase my income to $4,000 each month. Giving up 20% of that to help with household expenses would not be a sacrifice for me, but it would be a great help to my parents, and consequently, to my sisters as well.

And from the amazed and excited look on my father's face, I could see that it would all be worth it.
