The Multiverse Hunter

Chapter 181: Chapter 181

Ali jumped through the gaping hole in the roof and landed with a resounding thud opposite Levi, who was struggling to stand up.

Levi's legs shook as he pushed himself up, but his body refused to cooperate fully.

Half of his face had been stripped of its skin, with chunks of muscle hanging loosely, exposing raw flesh beneath.

Blood dripped from the grotesque wound, but his eyes were still sharp and filled with determination.

Ali stood tall, his expression completely calm, but his cold black eyes bore into Levi like daggers. He tilted his head slightly as if examining Levi's condition with detached curiosity.

"You know what annoys me about people who don't know who I am?" Ali's voice was low and steady, but each word felt like the final toll of a death knell.

Levi glared at him, refusing to cower even in his battered state. He reached for his sword, gripping its hilt tightly with bloodied fingers.

Ali's gaze flicked briefly to the movement before returning to Levi's defiant eyes. "It's that if you did know.." Ali took one slow step forward, his towering frame casting a shadow over the scout. "..you would kill yourself for even daring to attack me."

With that, Ali raised his fist. Levi gritted his teeth and swung his sword upward in desperation, aiming to strike before Ali could act.

BANG!

Ali's fist crashed into the top of Levi's head before the blade could even get halfway through its arc.

The impact was nothing short of catastrophic. Levi's skull shattered like glass under the sheer force of the blow, chunks of bone and brain matter splattering across the floor. The scout's body collapsed lifelessly, blood pooling beneath it.

Ali slowly opened his fist and glanced down at the gore coating his knuckles. He let out a faint sigh of boredom, then lifted his gaze toward the hole in the roof.

Without hesitation, he bent his knees and leapt effortlessly back to the rooftop above, his movements fluid and precise.

Once on the roof, Ali turned his attention to the young green-haired sniper who was desperately crawling away from the hole. The sniper's face was pale, and tears streamed down his cheeks as he dragged his broken leg along the ground, each movement eliciting a painful groan.

Ali approached him silently, his steps deliberate and unhurried. When he reached the sniper, he stopped and looked down at him with the same cold detachment he had shown Levi.

"Talk," Ali demanded, his voice devoid of emotion.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

The sniper let out a blood-curdling scream as Ali's boot came down hard on his broken leg, grinding the shattered bone against the ground. His entire body convulsed as the searing pain overwhelmed him.

"Stop, please... please stop! It was an anonymous contract, I swear! I don't know anything else—I don't know! I'm sorry, man. Please don't kill me... please!" The sniper's words came out in a frantic rush, his voice trembling with fear.

Ali tilted his head slightly, as if considering the plea. Then, after a moment of silence, he spoke: "Waste of time..."

SPLAT

Ali squeezed his fist, and the sniper's head exploded like a watermelon under pressure, sending bits of blood and brain matter splattering across the roof.

"Killed a player: 3 Paradise Coins."

"Paradise Coins: 270 > 273."

Ali didn't so much as glance at the interface before turning his attention back to the city.

Half an hour later...

Eren, in his Attack Titan form, carried a massive chunk of rock toward the breach in the wall. Each step shook the ground as he trudged forward with the determination of someone shouldering the hopes of humanity itself.

Behind him, Mikasa and Armin ran alongside scouts who were clearing the path ahead.

"There's no one left in our way!" Armin shouted, his voice tinged with relief. "It's like every Titan in the city has already been-" He paused mid-sentence, his thoughts catching up to the absurdity of the situation.

The streets were eerily empty, littered only with the steaming corpses of dead Titans.

Hundreds of meters away, Ali stood atop a roof overlooking the battlefield. The corpse of a freshly slain Titan lay sprawled in the street below him, steam rising from the cleanly severed neck. Ali opened his interface, his black eyes scanning the screen.

"Personal Mission: Kill Thirty Titans (59/30)."

"I'm missing one," Ali muttered to himself, frustration creeping into his voice.

His gaze swept over the city, searching for any remaining Titans. "Please tell me there's one left in this fucking place."

His Force sense suddenly alerted him to movement nearby. Turning his head, Ali saw Mark climbing up to a nearby roof.

The other man raised a hand in greeting before vanishing and reappearing on Ali's roof with his teleportation ability.

Mark was drenched in sweat, his chest rising and falling rapidly as he caught his breath.

"I did my best," Mark panted. "There weren't any players strong enough to kill a Titan, but those damn scouts were everywhere—and they're a pain in the ass to hit."

Ali crossed his arms, his expression unreadable. "Are there any Titans left? I just need one more."

Mark hesitated before answering. "I don't know if he counts as a Titan, but Eren Yeager is about to close the hole in the wall. He's got a squadron of scouts protecting him, though."

Ali curious, "Who's that?".

Mark wiped his forehead with the back of his hand. "Yeager's the main character of this weak-ass world. He's a human who can transform into a Titan-or something like that. If you kill him, maybe he'll count."

Ali's gaze shifted toward the breach in the wall, where Eren was preparing to drop the boulder into place.

BANG!

Mark flinched as Ali leapt from the roof, shattering the tiles beneath his feet and leaving a crater in his wake.

He shot through the air, crossing rooftops at impossible speeds, the sheer force of his movements sending shockwaves rippling through the city.

"Eren, just a little more!" Armin shouted, his voice hoarse with urgency as Eren lifted the massive boulder over his head.

The Attack Titan let out a deafening roar as it staggered forward, finally slamming the rock into place and sealing the breach in the wall.

Cheers erupted from the soldiers below as the gap was closed, but the celebration was short-lived.

Armin's heart sank as he saw a figure streaking through the air like a missile, heading straight for the Attack Titan's nape.

"NO! EREN, BEHIND YOU!" Armin screamed

But it was too late.

Ali closed the distance in an instant, his crimson quinque cutting through the Attack Titan's nape with a single, devastating strike.

SLASH!

Eren felt the light flood in as the flesh and muscle connecting him to the Titan was severed. Before he could react, Ali's hand reached into the open wound and grabbed him by the head, ripping his entire body free of the Titan with brutal efficiency.

"LET HIM GO!" Mikasa's voice rang out as she shot toward Ali with her ODM gear, her sword flashing in the sunlight.

Mikasa stabbed her short sword at Ali's side.

Ali turned his body to dodge Mikasa's strike, and without hesitation, he grabbed her outstretched hand holding the sword. To her shock, he forced Eren's head directly onto the tip of her blade.

STAB.

Eren's lifeless body slumped in Ali's grip, blood dripping from the blade impaled through his skull.

"Personal Mission: Kill Thirty Titans (60/30)."

Ali smirked as he dropped Eren's impaled head which fell straight into Mikasa's hold.

"Good."

"Eren... Eren. No. NOO0000O00!" Mikasa's voice erupted in a heart-wrenching scream as she cradled Eren's impaled head in her lap, her trembling hands stained with his blood.

Her entire body shook, her black hair clinging to her tear-streaked face as waves of anguish consumed her.

Ali jumped to a nearby roof, his cold, black eyes devoid of sympathy as he observed the scene.

'Anytime now...' Ali thought, waiting for Paradise to summon him back. He could feel his Spirit reserves nearly extinguished, his energy depleted, but it didn't matter.

His task was complete.

As the scouts rushed toward him in a futile attempt at revenge, Ali extended his hand. Their bodies froze mid-air, their movements halted by an unseen force.

CRACK.

The sound was sickening as one by one, their necks twisted and snapped unnaturally, silencing their cries and screams in an instant. Fifteen scouts fell lifelessly to the ground, their necks grotesquely contorted.

Ali lowered his hand, his expression still as calm and indifferent as ever. The last dregs of his Spirit drained entirely.

Mikasa rose to her feet, her shoulders trembling as she lowered Eren's body gently to the ground. Her tear-filled black eyes had transformed-gone was the warmth they once held, replaced by an icy, raw fury that radiated like a storm.

Her breath came in ragged gasps, her hands clutching her sword with a grip so tight her knuckles turned white.

Without a word, she launched herself at Ali with her ODM gear, the blades gleaming in the sunlight as she closed the distance between them with deadly precision.

Ali didn't flinch. He didn't even shift his stance.

"Not bad," Ali remarked coolly as Mikasa's blade approached, her speed a testament to her skill and desperation.

SLASH.

Ali's hand shot out like lightning, his fingers wrapping around Mikasa's wrist just before the blade could pierce his flesh. His grip was like an iron vice, so strong that Mikasa could feel the blood flow in her arm come to a grinding halt.

Ali tilted his head slightly, his voice calm but mocking. "Try this, kid," he muttered as black veins began to slither across his right hand, spreading up his arm.

His left eye turned pitch black, the iris disappearing entirely into an abyss of darkness.

Mikasa's breath hitched as she stared into the monster before her. But even as fear clawed at the edges of her mind, her rage propelled her forward. With a fierce roar, she swung her other sword at Ali with all her remaining strength.

THWACK.

Ali caught her other arm effortlessly, his grip as unyielding as steel. Mikasa's muscles strained against his hold, but it was futile—he was far beyond her strength.

CRACK. CRACK.

Ali's grip tightened just enough to shatter the bones in both of her arms. Mikasa gasped sharply as her limbs went limp, her weapons clattering uselessly to the rooftop.

The pain was searing, but her mind was so consumed by rage and grief that she barely registered it.

Even in her broken state, Mikasa refused to give in. With every ounce of resolve she had left, she lunged forward, baring her teeth as she tried to bite at Ali's face.

Ali raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. He released her shattered arms and delivered a single, brutal kick to her chest.

BANG.

The force of the kick sent Mikasa hurtling backward. Her body crashed through the air before slamming into the edge of the rooftop, her back colliding with the wall of a nearby building. She crumpled to the ground in a heap, unmoving.

Ali glanced down at his blood-stained hands before looking up at the chaotic city one last time.

"Finally," he muttered under his breath as blue lights began to engulf his body.
