The Master Programmer

Chapter 52: Too Bright to Ignore 2

Jason leaned back, a satisfied smirk playing on his lips. "Well, I'm glad you're seeing things now." Angela smiled. "I want to keep this clarity. I want to change. And…" she hesitated, a faint blush colouring her cheeks. "I want you to see it too. So… I never, ever do this, but… can I have your number?" Eh? So she hadn't learned anything after all!! No wonder there was no progress or announcement. Damn it. She might be a tough nut to crack. Jason raised a brow, a teasing glint in his eyes. "And what are your intentions, Miss Angela?" He said it this way on purpose, putting a title before her name to create a separation that would unconsciously register to her the distance between them. But Jason would soon realise that she was very serious. She laughed softly, her vulnerability giving way to determination. "To prove to you, and myself of course, that I can be better. You've inspired me, Jason. And I want you to see the person I become because of it. I want you to look at me one day, and look at me in a different way from the way you looked at me in that stall." Weren't you turned on in that stall though? Jason paused for a moment, looking at this girl who was gazing into his eyes with all the sincerity she could. Wow. She was not trying to fuck him... At least not yet. She actually meant her words? How interesting… Jason's smirk widened. "That's quite the pitch. Alright, but I won't give you my number. I'll take yours. But let's keep it real… you'll hear from me when I see you're ready. And that might never happen. So are you sure you're okay with that? Are you sure you'll be ready?" Angela chuckled. "Ready? For what?" Jason's gaze sharpened, his voice dipping into a lower, more commanding tone. "To match my light. You see, I'm not a normal person. My presence commands respect, my voice makes people bow to me. When I walk, the universe makes way. Soon enough I'll be so bright, no one will even be able to look directly at me. So you'd better be prepared to keep up. Are you ready to do that?" Angela paused for a moment and then she began giggling, the most genuine giggle he had heard from her this entire night. The more she exposed more of her real personality, the more Jason liked her or who she was. Angela's laughter was warm, unrestrained. "Oh, I'll keep up. Hard work is my thing, Jason. You just watch." A sexual joke? Or maybe she meant it in both ways… Jason smiled. He didn't mind this kind of conversation. He didn't mind it at all. The taxi rolled to a stop outside her apartment building. Angela stepped out gracefully, turning back one last time. Her eyes sparkled with a mixture of gratitude and resolve that was refreshing to Jason. "Prepare yourself, Jason. I meant what I said. Once I get my life together, you'll never look away from me," she said with a playful wink. Jason smirked, leaning against the seat. "And when I'm blazing like the sun, no one will dare to look at me. You've got work to do, Angie. But I will be watching." "Promise?" she said with a smile, leaning forward and exposing her cleavage to him. But Jason stared straight into her eyes even while she did this. "I promise." |———————————— || Master Programmer System || Stats | Missions | Items | Store | ————— Congratulations on completing the hidden mission: Convince A Gifted Woman to Stop Running Away and Embrace Her Talents. As Jason sat there, watching her walk away laughing, her confidence unmistakable, before disappearing into her apartment building, he couldn't help but wonder if he had something met someone incredible. Had he not been inclined to take such an action, would she have permitted herself to remain in that state indefinitely? If he had not cockblocked himself, would she have never unlocked her will to develop her talent? Jason leaned back in the taxi, the events of the night swirling in his mind. Angela's transformation intrigued him. Her gratitude, her determination… All of it was proof of the power of the right words at the right time. Maybe Jason was meant to meet her. Jason couldn't help but be taken aback though. It was obvious to him that his words and his power were something that could do both good and evil. But that was exactly the thing. There was no such thing as good or evil. Everything was relative. And it was all about who stood to gain. So the only way for Jason to gain anything from this was for him to be in her life, and find a way to use her gift to his advantage. Was that good, that he was plotting to put himself in her life if she made herself more useful to him? Did it matter? Jason thought of these things as the Taxi drove on. She had left him with the bill though. That was reason enough to just get her to pay up in the future. As the taxi drove him to Veronica's home, Jason's smirk faded into a content smile. "What a crazy night," he thought. "But a good night's sleep sounds even better." Little did he know that he was not going to be getting any good night's sleep. After all in another place, someone he knew very well was in trouble. — Dragon Gambling, an Underground Gambling Ring — A man stood over the body of an unconscious woman, licking his lips as he ran his eyes over her body. She was wearing nurse clothes, and although they were pretty loose, they still could not hold back the sight of her curves. Those nice tits… that amazing ass… She was an incredible specimen that the man had not laid his hands on in a long time. Turning to the man that stood behind him, the man smiled. "You've done well, Micheal. This… will get rid of your debt by a good…" as the man spoke this far, gazing at the man who was being made to kneel there, looking at him hopefully, he smirked sadistically. "Ten per cent." "Ten per cent?! But she's my daughter!! I… You told me that she would be enough to not only get rid of my debts but also get me even more credit at the casino!" "Shut up, you bitch! I told you if you could bring your wife and child together, then I might think about it. But you could only get your daughter here. What do you think that makes you? Incompetent. You don't deserve anything from me other than a slight cut. You still owe me 900,000 dollars." Just as the man named Micheal was about to speak up again, he was kicked in the belly by one of the men beside him, and he began coughing out his guts as the casino owner's goons began laughing. "Get him out of here… He had better make sure to pay it all back. If he can't… you know how to deal with him." "Yes sir…" said the goons, punching the man named Micheal, and then dragging him out. "Please! I don't have anything else, so please—Ugh!!!" the man groaned as he was once again kicked in the gut as he was dragged out. It was at that moment that one of the goons stood behind. He looked like the leader of the goons and he stood there, staring at the woman on the sofa. "What about the girl? Sir, you still have a meeting to go to. You can't—" "I know. You don't need to tell me. I know it all. Put her in my room. Don't let anyone go inside. I'll visit her in an hour after my meeting. Make sure that nothing bad happens." "Yes sir. And about Micheal Riviera… he will never be able to pay it off. Should we?" "You know what to do. But before that, get as much value from him as you possibly can. After I deal with this sweet little thing, you put her through the sex trafficking pipeline we have. I have faith in you. Luckily we can rely on the Snake Gang to help from now on. Business is good, haha!" "Yes sir, of course, sir…" the man said, nodding and watching as the man sniffed the girl's hair before sighing in satisfaction as he fixed his pants that were slightly bulging out. He then walked out of the door leaving the man there, sighing as he looked at this girl. It was not the first time he had dealt with things like this. It certainly won't be the last time. Such an unlucky girl to have a Dad like that. And even worse luck to land in the Hands of Mr Grey. Oh well, whatever. He was just a subordinate. All he had to do was his job. Nothing else.
