The Invincible Sect Leader

Chapter 82: Chapter 82: Love, Laughter, and the Silliest Sect Leader

Chan Li, the great and mighty sect leader, the genius of cultivation, the unparalleled supreme being feared across countless realms was currently hiding behind a fruit stand. His eyes peeked out cautiously, watching his wife, Tang Yu, as she walked through the bustling market street, completely unaware of his presence.

"I can face immortal emperors, challenge gods, and subdue demonic overlords… but my wife's anger? Impossible!" Chan Li muttered to himself, gripping his basket of rare peaches like his life depended on it.

It had been several years since he settled down in the Martial Sky World, where cultivation didn't exist, only martial arts. He had taken on the persona of an ordinary martial artist and married the most beautiful woman in the realm, Tang Yu, who was known as the "Ice Fairy." But despite her cold reputation, she was a loving wife unless, of course, he got caught goofing off instead of "working."

Earlier that morning, Tang Yu had asked him to run an errand and buy some daily necessities. However, Chan Li got distracted by a street performance of dancing monkeys, then ended up playing dice with some merchants, and somehow found himself in an eating contest against a burly warrior. By the time he remembered his errand, he realized he was late.

"Husband!" Tang Yu's voice rang out like thunder, and Chan Li flinched, his soul nearly leaving his body.

"Ah… Honey! My most beloved wife, the most stunning woman in the realm! What a coincidence! Haha! I was just about to return home " Chan Li's excuses were cut off as Tang Yu grabbed his ear and dragged him forward.

"You went gambling, didn't you?" she asked, eyes narrowed.

"No, no! I only watched! And, uh, participated a little bit... but I won! Look, look!" He proudly held up a small bag of silver coins. "For our future!" he added with a bright smile.

Tang Yu sighed and released his ear, shaking her head. "You're impossible. If you were anyone else, I would have divorced you by now."

"But you love me too much!" Chan Li grinned, leaning in cheekily. "How could you possibly let go of such a handsome, reliable, and talented husband?"

"Handsome? Yes. Reliable? No." She huffed, but there was a small smile on her lips. "Let's go home before you cause more trouble."

Back at home, Chan Li's son, Chan Lang, a mischievous five-year-old, was running around with a wooden sword, pretending to fight great battles. "Take that, evil demons! Father says all demons are just meat shields for cultivation!" the little boy declared.

Chan Li nearly spat out his tea. "I said no such thing!" he coughed.

Tang Yu shot him a glare. "Then where did he hear it from?"

Chan Li averted his gaze. "Maybe from… himself? Our son is very intelligent, you know."

Chan Lang ran up and pointed his wooden sword at his father. "Father! Fight me! If I win, you have to tell me your greatest martial technique!"

Chan Li snorted. "Oh? You think you can win? Very well! But if I win, you have to massage my shoulders for a week."

The father and son duo clashed wooden swords, performing exaggerated movements. Chan Li, despite being capable of destroying entire realms, pretended to struggle, rolling across the ground dramatically.

"Nooo! How is my son so strong?! Impossible! My martial arts are useless!" Chan Li howled as he fell in slow motion, making dramatic faces.

Tang Yu facepalmed. "He's five years old… stop pretending he's an ancient warlord."

Chan Lang, standing victoriously, puffed out his chest. "I am now the number one in the world!"

Chan Li wiped fake tears from his eyes. "My son… has surpassed me. I am now an old relic of history."

Later that night, after tucking their son into bed, Tang Yu and Chan Li sat on the balcony under the moonlight. Chan Li wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her close.

"You know… I used to think love was a waste of time," he admitted softly.

Tang Yu leaned against him, a small smile on her lips. "And now?"

"Now, I know it's the greatest adventure of them all," he said, kissing her forehead gently.

Tang Yu chuckled. "You're such a fool."

"But I'm your fool," Chan Li whispered, holding her close as the stars twinkled above.
