The Invincible Sect Leader

Chapter 46: Chapter 46: Slippery Slopes and Frosty Foes

The frost beast let out a deafening roar, shaking the icy wasteland. Its massive body glowed with ancient runes, each pulsating with chilling energy. Chan Li, however, yawned dramatically and stretched.

"Ah, another oversized ice cube. I wonder if I should carry a stove around just for these occasions."

Yan Ling shivered. "This isn't the time for jokes! That thing could eat us in one bite!"

Chan Li tilted his head. "One bite? You think it could fit me in its mouth all at once? I take offense to that I'm quite broad in the shoulders."

The frost beast roared again, clearly uninterested in their banter. It took a mighty step forward, the ground beneath them cracking violently.

Liu Feng sighed, rubbing his temples. "Less talking, more not-dying, please."

Ice Skating for Survival

Before anyone could react, the ground beneath them completely shattered, sending them sliding down an enormous, slippery slope of ice. The team flailed wildly as they spiraled out of control.

"I DIDN'T SIGN UP FOR THIS!" Yan Ling screeched, spinning uncontrollably.

Liu Feng, somehow calm, adjusted his robes mid-slide. "Technically, none of us signed up for any of this."

Chan Li, of course, stood atop his feet, casually surfing down the ice like it was a leisurely stroll in the park. "You all should really work on your balance," he mused.

Lan Xue, struggling to stay upright, glared at him. "We are SLIDING TO OUR DEATHS, and you're making balance jokes?!"

Chan Li nodded sagely. "Balance is the key to life. Also, I might have to start selling ice-skating lessons after this. I see great potential."

Before Lan Xue could respond, the slope ended abruptly, launching them all into the air. They soared for a few seconds before crashing into a pile of soft, powdery snow.

"Ugh… I think I swallowed a snow rabbit…" Yan Ling groaned, spitting out a small tuft of white fur.

A Not-So-Frozen Welcome

The moment they recovered, a deep growl reverberated from behind them. They turned slowly to find the frost beast standing just meters away, clearly unimpressed by their grand escape.

Chan Li dusted himself off. "Alright, new plan. Let's either fight this thing, or I teach it the meaning of 'customer service' when I start selling my ice-skating lessons."

The frost beast stomped forward, ice forming around its claws. It was ready for battle.

Yan Ling pointed a shaky finger. "C-Can we try talking to it? Maybe it just wants a friend?"

Chan Li smirked. "Then why don't you go give it a hug?"

Yan Ling paled. "I'd rather fight."

"Good choice."

With a single step forward, Chan Li's aura flared, his presence overwhelming the frozen wasteland.

"Let's turn up the heat."
