Kim Jin-ho is not too stupid to make a logical deduction. Anyone could easily think of such a hypothesis with a bit of thought, yet he never doubts. He merely ‘chooses’ to say, “Your environment is not normal.”

In this scene, the director’s intent becomes clear. It’s to express, through clear and certain dialogue, that Kang Tae-il isn’t even worth such a deduction.

Even with the same face, as long as Kang Tae-il is dressed in ragged clothes and lounging by the riverbank, the two can never be twins. This is the modern view we have towards twin siblings.
