The Gamer who traveled to Honkai: Star Rail

Chapter 330: Chapter 329: A Tea Party Amidst Destruction

March 7th gasped in mock alarm. "Oh no, Elysia's figured out how to handle Pei Guang! But... that's not such a bad thing~"

In March 7th's view, Pei Guang was one of the easiest people to "handle" she'd ever met. That said, "handle" wasn't the right word. To her, his straightforward values boiled down to treating others the way they treated him.

It was as simple as that.

Take Arbiter-General Jing Yuan, for example. The moment he gave Pei Guang all those containers that could yield incredible loot, Pei Guang started thinking about how to protect him. As for their train companions? He treated everyone the same: no one received special treatment, but no one was left out, either. Whenever he found something good, everyone got a share. He even remembered to bring gifts for Pom-Pom on expeditions—something others often forgot.

And now, it seemed Elysia had quickly picked up on this trait. Trust—whether given verbally or otherwise—was the surest way to win Pei Guang over.

As March 7th had expected, the moment Elysia said those words, Pei Guang turned to her with a satisfied expression.

"Excellent! Don't worry, I won't let anyone who comes here be sacrificed. I just need people to operate the machines. Everyone who arrives will leave the same way they came—intact, not missing an arm or a leg," he assured her.

After all, in any game with civilian and production mechanics, boosting happiness levels always yielded excellent results.

Even putting stats aside, he wanted to make this world enjoyable. He'd lived in a place where everything was just a competition to see who could endure the most; now that he had taken on responsibility for this world, it only made sense to max out its happiness levels.

Moreover, he envisioned this Earth as a fallback—somewhere he, March 7th, and Stelle could return to in the future to settle down and farm in peace if they had nowhere else to go. If that was the case, then making it a well-maintained and comfortable home seemed essential.

While Elysia went off to gather reinforcements, Pei Guang busied himself. As the Doomsday Beast continued its epic showdown with the trash can, he scouted out a patch of empty land nearby and deployed his mobile construction vehicle.

The massive vehicle unfolded, revealing its full capabilities. At the same time, he summoned a Herta Puppet, directing it to assist in construction efforts.

The building process was straightforward. With flat terrain and sufficient resources, the construction vehicle could churn out various modular buildings. While this construction system was a patchwork of many different technologies, Earth's current tech level limited its full potential.

The buildings themselves weren't of much use against the Doomsday Beast, however, as a player, Pei Guang valued a certain sense of ritual. Even if the barracks and factories wouldn't see immediate use, it was the principle that mattered.

A proper battle needed proper flair—regardless of whether he planned to crush the Doomsday Beast with salvaged high-tech gear.

Meanwhile, the Doomsday Beast continued its relentless assault, not on the trash can per se, but on what it perceived as the source of the Preservation power. In truth, it might as well have been dueling the air.

It sought to destroy this enigmatic agent of Preservation. Yet, after hours of furious attacks that had razed a good portion of the surrounding ground, it still couldn't locate its target.

The beast noticed the small base being rapidly constructed in the distance, with a number of humans gathering around it. But to the Doomsday Beast, these humans were insignificant—far too weak to pose any threat. Even ants could occasionally bite, but these humans couldn't even manage that. It dismissed them without a second thought.

Among the group, the beast could sense other sources of Paths, but its rage was now singularly focused. Until it destroyed the presumed Preservation agent in this area, it wouldn't rest.

The trash can, however, remained indifferent.

Belobog's pride could not be trampled by some lowly beast of destruction!

As the stalemate between the trash can and the Doomsday Beast persisted, Elysia returned with all the personnel from Fire Moth she could gather. While the soldiers were understandably fearful of the Doomsday Beast, they found courage knowing that Elysia had a plan to defeat it.

This time, the reinforcements included not just soldiers but also one of their strongest warriors: Kevin.

Upon learning of the Doomsday Beast's appearance and hearing that she had a means to defeat it, Kevin didn't hesitate: he followed her out immediately. Like all Moth members, he trusted Elysia implicitly, knowing she wouldn't act recklessly without a viable solution.

Other elite warriors had also wanted to join, but most were grounded due to aircraft being unable to take off. Kevin, however, had managed to arrive thanks to a specialized aircraft prepared for him by Mei.

When he arrived at the scene, it was nothing like he had imagined. In his mind, Elysia and her team were supposed to be locked in a grueling battle against the Doomsday Beast, with arms and legs flying amidst the chaos.

This wasn't Kevin's imagination running wild—he was basing it on his extensive experience fighting the Antimatter Legion: on every battlefield, the devastation was nothing short of catastrophic. In his mind, Elysia had likely discovered some weakness of the Doomsday Beast and was organizing a desperate plan to exploit it, with soldiers drawing its attention while others aimed for its weak points.

However, what Kevin encountered completely defied his expectations. When he arrived, he was greeted by the sight of newly erected buildings.

Wait... weren't there no defensive structures planned for this area?

While puzzled, he decided to focus on finding Elysia first. Following her phone's location, he arrived at a small plaza.

There, she sat casually at a round table in the center, chatting animatedly with another pink-haired girl. Beside them, a man and a woman were peering through telescopes, observing the Doomsday Beast in the distance as it furiously attacked the ground.

"Am I crazy? Or has the whole world gone crazy?" Kevin muttered to himself.

He started to doubt his own reality. Had he woken up at all? Was the Doomsday Beast just a figment of a restless dream? To an outsider, this looked more like an afternoon tea party for girls than a battlefield.

Meanwhile, the Doomsday Beast, just a short distance away, was wildly tearing into the earth. Kevin had no idea why it was so fixated on attacking the ground, but seeing everyone casually chatting despite such a massive threat left him utterly dumbfounded.

He stood a few meters away, calling out to her, his tone laden with disbelief.

"Elysia…"

Kevin's tone as he called out to Elysia was complicated. At that moment, he wasn't sure how to face the soldiers he had brought with him. For some reason, he felt like she hadn't called him here to deal with the Doomsday Beast, but rather to introduce him to some new friends.

Hearing his voice, Elysia turned and beamed at him. "Kevin, you're here! Let me introduce you—this is Pei Guang, the owner of every planet in the Solar System."

She had already forwarded encrypted information about Pei Guang to Kevin beforehand, so he wasn't entirely unprepared. Still, such claims sounded like exaggerated boasting.

However, he wasn't the type to dwell on politics or ownership disputes: he was well aware that such matters were better left to Mei or others who were more adept at thinking through complex issues. His focus was singular—eliminating the Antimatter Legion.

With that in mind, he ignored all the irrelevant details and asked directly: "You said you had a way to defeat the Doomsday Beast. What do we need to do?"

Elysia shook her head. "I don't know."

Kevin froze. "What?"
