The game of the god [BL]

Chapter 4: Chapter 3: The Shadow of the Tree

The god of the tree observed from his abode, the branches of his kingdom, which extended beyond reality itself. His gaze fell on his brother, the god of dimension, who was sitting on his throne, motionless as ever. But today, something had changed. Something in his eyes, in the way he observed the world below. It wasn't indifference, not even distant curiosity. There was something else.

The god of the tree sighed with a calm that only he possessed. He knew that his brother, always obsessed with control and power, rarely let himself be affected by what was going on below. But today, it wasn't like that. The hunter, that young human, had caught his attention, and that was not something that happened easily.

— Your fascination with this mortal... Why? - the voice of the god of the tree rumbled in the air, and although his tone was soft, he was full of a question that he could not let go.

The god of the dimension did not respond immediately. Instead, he allowed the silence to lengthen, his eyes fixed on the hunter who was running through the ruins of the city. Something stopped him, something worried him. That strange feeling that he had never experienced, that interest in someone so insignificant in his vast creation.

- I don't know - he finally said, his voice deep and cold like the wind blowing between the branches of the tree. His gaze remained fixed on the young man, as if he was waiting for an answer from himself, something that would never come. - It's not just curiosity. There's something else, something I can't understand.

The god of the tree slowly approached his brother, his calm but firm presence.

- Maybe you don't need to understand it. Maybe it's just the beginning. The connection with the mortal has begun, but as always, you will not understand the purpose until it is revealed. - The god of the tree smiled softly, as if he already knew something that the other did not. On its branches, a murmur of agitated leaves was heard, as an omen of something that was to come.

Meanwhile, the hunter, with his heart racing, finally arrived at the area where he had heard his mother's screams. His body was exhausted, his mind full of anguish. No matter how many times he fell, he got up. But what burned him the most inside was the need to find her, to make sure she was okay.

Suddenly, among the rubble, he saw a figure that he recognized instantly. His mother, covered in dust, struggling to get up. The hunter could not allow the creatures to take her. With a roar of fury, he threw himself at her, pushing the creatures that were trying to devour her. His body was tired, but his determination kept him on his feet.

The moment his hands reached his mother, she looked at him, her eyes full of despair and fear. But before he could say anything, his sister's voice echoed in the air, strong, clear, desperate.

- Lyon! Lyon, run!

His brother's name crossed the air, and like a whip, he crossed the consciousness of the god of dimension, who unintentionally heard the call. The hunter, Lyon, still did not know that he was observing something else, that his life and his struggle were not only part of a simple destiny, but that there were forces beyond his understanding that had already been interested in him.

But for now, Lyon could not think of anything more than protecting her mother and sister. However, his mind stopped for a moment, as if the scream had had a different weight for him. Something inside him stirred, but he concentrated again on his family, pushing them towards the nearest shelter, fighting with the last of their forces.

From his throne, the god of dimension could not stop thinking about what he had heard. Lyon That name echoed in his mind, it stuck to him like a sticky melody. Something in that call, something in the way it had been pronounced, had made him doubt for a moment.

An echo in the vast extension of its power. Something had awakened inside him when he heard his name. Something I couldn't recognize. Something I had never experienced.

The god of the tree, with his eternal gaze, kept watching his brother with a restrained smile. I knew that the time of his revelation would come. That his brother, the god of the dimension, would feel something he had never experienced. Because what was happening was not just fascination. It was something deeper. Something that looked dangerously like a crush at first sight.

- You heard it, didn't you? - the god of the tree asked, softly, while his gaze was still fixed on his brother.

The god of the dimension did not respond immediately. His gaze followed the hunter, and a slight blush, barely noticeable, began to dye his cheeks. Something in his chest was shaking hard.

- Why do you look at me like that? - he replied, this time without hiding his confusion.

The god of the tree just smiled, letting the mystery follow its course.

- Because it's fascinating, brother. But it's even more fascinating what you still don't understand about yourself.

The god of the dimension turned, his eyes fixed on the young hunter. He didn't know exactly what he felt, nor why he felt that connection was not just curiosity, or why his heart beat in a different way. I just knew that I couldn't look away.

The game had begun. And now, the connection with the hunter felt more unbreakable than ever. But for now, the god of dimension did not understand that he was being dragged by something far beyond his control. Something so old and so new that I had never imagined.
