Chapter 162: Greenbrow: The Ultimate Man of Fashion! & Picking The Second Option
"Uncle Greenbrow!" Lina exclaimed, with a wide smile on her face.
Greenbrow smiled again as he came down from the carriage. His red hair fluttered slightly, revealing his bushy green-colored brows. He wore a simple brown tunic and black trousers.
He wore blue gloves that revealed his nails, which were painted with a purple oil-like substance.
The other students who were still present looked at him with weird gazes, wondering who he was.
"Oh! My dear Lina," Greenbrow said. "I missed you!"
Lina smiled as she instantly hugged him. "I missed you too."
His gaze instantly landed on Arin, who was still debating on what to say.
Before Arin could even do anything, Greenbrow had already dragged him into his arms.
"Come here, Arin!" he exclaimed as he hugged Arin tightly.
Arin's eyes widened as he tried to break free from his grip.
Greenbrow's expression instantly turned sober. "Oh, Arin... You used to smile immediately when you saw me, but now..."
Greenbrow shook his head as if he was about to cry. "I told my brother... I told him not to send you to that Academy... Now you've changed."
Arin didn't even care about what Greenbrow was saying at this point. He just wanted to escape from his grasp.
Greenbrow, Arin's father's brother, was one of the abnormal members of the family.
He believed that with his bushy brows, which he dyed green, and his purple-colored nails, he was the ultimate man of fashion.
'That's not fashion,' Arin thought, finally managing to escape from Greenbrow's grasp. 'He's just insane, but he doesn't know it yet.'
Greenbrow smiled as he entered the carriage. "Alright, let's go. Your parents are waiting!"
At the mention of his parents, Arin's expression paled again as he dragged himself into the carriage.
Meanwhile, Lina had already entered the carriage, her excitement visible on her face.
Immediately after Arin entered, the carriage began moving, making noise as it dragged itself through the streets of Rainfall City.
Greenbrow kept rambling on as the carriage moved, but Arin didn't even bother to pay attention. He was more concerned about what he would meet when they got home.
Though, he heard a few things Greenbrow was saying.
"I'm even considering painting my lips blue. It'll be a good step to achieving my dream as the ultimate man of fashion."
"Woah, that'll certainly be a new fashion trend," Lina said.
At this point, Arin was even wondering if Lina was a villain deep down and was just pretending to be nice and soft.
'Because why the hell is she encouraging him and not making him turn away from that idea?!' Arin thought.
Arin decided to distract himself as he glanced at the familiar street. He was able to recognize many things from the memories of the original Arin, and he even recognized a few people.
Arin suddenly furrowed his brows. 'Now that I think about it, how did the original Arin even die?'
'I don't remember seeing any injury or any sign of struggle on my body, so how?'
When he first woke up in this world, the same thought came to his mind, but there was no answer.
But now, with the little additional knowledge he had, there was a high chance that the so-called Great One was responsible for it.
'It's just a thought, but that Great One is the only one I can think of now who would be responsible for it.'
CREAK!
The carriage suddenly stopped with a loud sound, jolting Arin out of his thoughts.
With a wide smile on her face, Lina jumped down from the carriage, ready to enter the house.
The house was just along the street, and Arin could even see their neighbors.
Greenbrow stared at Arin with squinted eyes. "Huh? You weren't happy to see me, and you also aren't happy to finally see your parents?"
Greenbrow sighed. "That Academy really changed you, huh?"
Arin smiled wryly. "It's not that, Uncle Greenbrow."
"Everything is just happening so fast, and I haven't been able to process it all yet," Arin said.
Greenbrow smiled. "I see... It'll be fine, Arin. Your parents are expecting both of you."
For a second, Greenbrow's usual goofy attitude disappeared, but it quickly returned.
"Now, get out of my carriage. Your parents are waiting."
Arin nodded his head as he quickly exited the carriage. Find your next read at My Virtual Library Empire
With that, Greenbrow left, leaving Arin and Lina standing in front of the door to their house.
The door was closed, but they could already hear the voices of their parents.
Lina chuckled. "It seems Mum is already preparing something for us."
Arin nodded. "I guess so..."
He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, before opening them.
"Huh? Why are you looking at me like that?" Arin asked, noticing that Lina was silently looking at him.
"I thought you would be the one to open the door first," she said.
Arin scoffed. "Well, ladies first."
Lina smiled. "I'll make sure Mother gives me the biggest meat."
Arin's face paled again as he muttered under his breath, "Even if she gives me, I'll happily give it to you."
With that, Lina placed her hand on the doorknob and then...
WHAM!
The door flung open, revealing the interior of the house.
Three chairs were present on one side of the parlour, and on the other side, the wooden dining chairs and table were present.
Both Arin and Lina could hear their mother and father's voices coming from the kitchen.
Without wasting time, Lina dashed into the house and ran into the kitchen, leaving Arin standing in front of the door.
"At this point, you have two options," Seraphine said. "You can either run away now that they haven't seen you and never return, or enter the house and endure about three days of insanity before returning back to the Academy."
"What will it be?" she asked, making it sound like a show.
Arin couldn't deny the fact that Seraphine was right.
But at this point, he just had to... He just had to endure the insanity.
"I pick the second option."
With that, he stepped into the house, ready to endure about three days of insanity.
