"I never expected your knife skills to be so extraordinary, Sui," Chapelle remarked with repeated praise. "It's said that 'Silken Thread Tofu' can be cut so finely, but only a handful of national chefs can achieve this level. This is my first time witnessing it."
Chapelle had long heard of 'Silken Thread Tofu', a dish regarded as a benchmark for testing on chef's knife skills. However, he had never seen a chef in Japan demonstrate such craftsmanship—until today.
"Is it really that impressive?" the surrounding students gasped in awe.
"I never imagined your knife skills would be so incredible," Saitō admitted sincerely. "You've far surpassed me."
In their competition, Sui's feat was significantly more difficult than Saitō's own.
"You're too humble, Saitō-senpai. Your skills are impressive as well," Sui responded with a modest smile.
Sui's tofu slices were about 0.1 millimeters thick—a level of precision that would have been nearly impossible without his Cinderella knife. Even without it, he could likely cut the tofu to 0.5 millimeters, which still would have been enough to surpass Saitō.
"But in comparison to you, I still have a long way to go," Saitō said, patting Sui on the shoulder. "At first, I worried you weren't worthy of using that knife, but now I see you are it's perfect owner."
The other students shared the same sentiment, acknowledging that Sui's knife skills were indeed on another level.
"Next time we have the chance, let's work on our skills together," Saitō added, admiration clear in his voice.
"Of course," Sui agreed, smiling.
"Kohai, I must say, you continue to surprise me," Rindō chimed in, playfully patting Sui's shoulder. "I'm growing more and more fond of you."
She cast a glance at Sui's Cinderella knife and teased, "So, what do you think about the deal I mentioned before? You only need a kitchen knife to marry me and take me home!"
Sui glanced at her with a smirk. "But if I marry you, won't you bankrupt me in no time? Seems like a losing deal."
"Don't worry, your senpai doesn't eat much," Rindō replied, pinching his cheek affectionately. "I'm still a good investment."
"You'll have to have at least seven or eight children to make it worth it, though," Sui muttered to himself, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
"Why?" Rindō's face turned a rare shade of red, a hint of shyness creeping in.
She gritted her teeth and tugged at Sui's face. "Seven or eight children? Do you think I'm some kind of baby-making machine?!"
Sui nodded to himself. "Well, if Erina has seven or eight, and you do the same, we could manage."
Hearing this, Erina, who had been standing nearby, turned crimson and immediately stomped on Sui's foot in embarrassment.
After class that day, Sui returned to his mansion, only to be greeted by the familiar voice of his system.
"The host has accumulated seven daily gift packs. Would you like to open them all?"
"Open them," Sui replied.
One by one, the system's rewards were revealed:
"Cooking skill level increased by 2."
"You've received two kilograms of sweet coral candy."
"You've received one pound of black rice."
"Cooking skill level increased by 1."
"You've received a bunch of Dia Grapes."
"Huh, got some nice ingredients this time," Sui noted with satisfaction. Sweet Coral candy and Dia Grapes were popular with the girls in his life, especially with Rindō and his mother-in-law, Leonora. This haul would keep them happy for a while.
Sui thought about his mother-in-law with a sigh. He had promised to visit her sooner but had somehow let several days pass without realizing it. Perhaps it was because he frequently brought her delicious dishes that Leonora was reluctant to see him leave.
Including today's increase, Sui's cooking skill level had now reached 78—a noticeable improvement.
Just then, Sui remembered that he hadn't returned the 'Love Metronome' book he had borrowed from Utaha. Grabbing the book, he headed to her apartment next door to return it.
"I wonder if she's home today," he mused, looking up at the rainy sky.
As usual, Utaha hadn't locked her door. Sui pushed it open and walked in, finding the living room empty.
"Maybe she's working on her novel in the bedroom," Sui thought aloud. Given how familiar he was with this senpai of his, Sui didn't bother knocking and simply opened her bedroom door.
Inside, Utaha was in the middle of changing clothes.
Her back was to him, revealing white panties that hugged her firm, round figure. Her long legs were clad in black stockings, which were damp from the rain, clinging to her skin. Her panties were also wet, leaving little to the imagination. She had just unhooked her bra, her bare back pale and flawless.
Hearing the door creak open, Utaha turned her head slightly, her half-exposed chest coming into view.
"Ahem, sorry, I didn't realize you were changing," Sui coughed awkwardly, quickly closing the door.
Sui sat in the living room, waiting in silence. A few moments later, Utaha emerged from her room, now dressed in a purple nightgown. She had removed her stockings, revealing her smooth, porcelain-like legs.
Sitting across from him, Utaha crossed her legs casually, kicking off her slippers. Her burgundy eyes locked onto Sui as she folded her hands in her lap.
"I'm sorry for barging in without knocking," Sui apologized with a smile, hoping to lighten the mood.
"Tsk, tsk. You've really gone too far, Kohai," Utaha clicked her tongue lightly, her tone calm but teasing. "You've seen my entire body now."
