Chapter 382: Chapter 380: This is Really the Last Time!
"When we have lots of kids in the future and can't manage them all, Blissey will make an excellent babysitter," Sui joked with a smile.
Erina's cheeks flushed as she recalled the conversation from the day before. Despite her embarrassment, the idea of being surrounded by children filled her heart with warmth.
Breakfast that morning had been prepared by Blissey. Since her evolution, she had grown to 1.5 meters tall, finally tall enough to reach the kitchen counters—something she couldn't do before as a 1.1-meter-tall Chansey. However, despite her newfound size, Blissey could only make simple dishes. So, she boiled some eggs.
The meal was straightforward: a whole Blissey eggs, boiled and halved, sprinkled with a pinch of salt. It was served with soft marshmallow fluff and crushed coral candy, the vibrant colors making for a delightful presentation.
Sui and Erina each took half an egg. Despite the simplicity of the dish—just boiled with a sprinkle of salt—it was both delicious and packed with nutrition. The accompanying marshmallow dessert, with its smooth, sweet taste and crunchy coral candy, was equally satisfying.
After breakfast, Blissey dutifully cleaned the plates and left the room. Sui couldn't help but feel that evolving Chansey had been a wise decision. It was as though he had gained not just a Pokémon but also a capable housekeeper and nanny.
And Sui's earlier remark about letting Blissey care for their future children wasn't merely a joke. Blissey was gentle, responsible, and deeply compassionate, making her the perfect caretaker for children. Her ability to sense sadness meant she could comfort a baby when needed. Plus, her eggs were nutritious, ensuring that any child in her care would grow up healthy and happy.
Not only that, Miltank's milk and Combee's honey were both excellent food sources for children—and the Pokémon themselves could even serve as playmates.
Sui realized just how useful his Pokémon were becoming.
As he mused about this, Sui began to wonder when he might come across another Pokémon Evolution Stone. With one, he could evolve Fidough. The evolved Dachsbun, with its extraordinary dessert-making abilities, would surely elevate Sui's own culinary skills. It would even be worthwhile to train Dachsbun as a full-fledged dessert chef.
After the nutritious breakfast, Sui felt full of energy. At the same time, Erina seemed to be glowing with the serene confidence of a loving wife. Gently, she dressed herself, then reached for Sui's clothes, wanting to help him get dressed as well.
As Sui watched Erina, her affection and tenderness apparent in every movement, a playful thought came to mind. Leaning in, he whispered something in her ear.
Erina's face turned beet red. She bit her lip and shot him an embarrassed, yet affectionate, look.
Though her instinct was to refuse, the love she felt for him was too strong to ignore.
"This is really the last time," she whispered softly, her voice barely audible as she shyly lowered her head.
——
Later that morning, the "God Tongue," revered as a sacred gift by countless chefs, once again experienced a flavor that would remain unforgettable.
As they descended the stairs, Blissey appeared, carrying two glasses of milk as a treat for her masters. Sui eagerly downed his glass, but Erina hesitated.
"Eh? What's wrong, Erina? Don't you like milk anymore?" Sui asked, puzzled.
"I think I'll skip it today," Erina murmured, her cheeks turning pink.
Afterward, the two grabbed some marshmallows and made their way to school, munching on the sweet treat along the way. The taste of the sugary cotton candy lifted Erina's spirits, helping her temporarily forget the earlier embarrassment.
Before long, they arrived at the school building.
"Hey, Sui! Erina-chi!" Yoshino, Megumi, and the others greeted them with bright smiles as they approached. Seeing Sui and Erina walking together, munching on marshmallows, Yoshino couldn't resist teasing them.
"Tsk, tsk, you two look just like a couple, strolling to school together, eating marshmallows," she said with a playful smirk.
Erina blushed, flustered by the comment. "What are you talking about?"
"Huh? What's that you're eating? It looks tasty!" Sōma asked, intrigued by the snack.
Sui had sprinkled the crushed coral candy on the snow-white marshmallows, creating a visually striking treat with colorful dots.
"Isn't that cotton candy?" Ryoko said with a smile, brushing her hair aside. "We learned about it in the dessert knowledge class, but this is my first time seeing something this beautiful."
"Really?" Soma scratched his head, looking confused.
"That's probably because you were sleeping during that lesson," Megumi added, stifling a giggle.
In theoretical classes, Soma had a habit of dozing off.
"Erina-chi, can we try it?" Yoshino's eyes sparkled with curiosity. It was her first time seeing this kind of dessert, and she couldn't wait to taste it.
"Oh, of course," Erina said, offering the marshmallow.
Yoshino eagerly licked the treat with her small tongue. "It's sweet, like sugary spider silk, but light and smooth," she said, savoring the taste.
"Really?" Megumi couldn't help but ask as she and Ryoko stepped forward to try it as well.
Watching the four girls enjoying the marshmallows together was a sight to behold. Soma, feeling a little left out, looked at Sui.
"Hey, Sui, can I have a bite too?"
Sui sighed, a bit exasperated. He had no intention of sharing marshmallows with a guy. "Here, you can have it," he said, handing Soma a marshmallow.
"Really? Thanks!" Soma happily took the treat and started eating.
"Hmm, this is strange—it feels like eating sweet threads, dry yet sticky. But it's really delicious!" Soma exclaimed.
While this type of snack was common in other countries, it wasn't well-known in their country. But the girls enjoyed it, happily savoring every bite.
