The crows:Death falls on all eventually

Chapter 31: Chapter 31

The once clean field with just a few cracks around had now become a field filled with vomits on the ground along with its perpetrators laying on the ground helpless.

Everything was in a mess and those on the ground looked unsightly, even Claire who seemed casual about everything had her legs shaking from time to time as she stood.

" You are doing well holding on that much" Oscar said appearing beside her.

"Yeah " she replied trying to hide her trembling voice to which she failed to do. She still hadn't gotten used to landing after being in the air for a while and given that this was her second time she definitely was hanging on pretty good with just trembling feet.

Crook watched from a distance quite satisfied with the sight of most of them being a wreck on the ground.

"Guess I'll be having more work to do fixing this field huh. Good thing there are good hands available" he thought grinning ear to ear .

From a distance the sound of engine reeving could be heard. A small tractor in a faded red color came in sight.

The tractor was slightly dirty with a little to no smoke coming out of it's exhaust pipe which gave an opposite view of whether the tractor was new or not. Country music began to echo as the tractor came nearer,

"Keep your breath to cool your porridge,'—and I shall keep mine to swell my song."

"_Woe ye be to thy soul that my heart thumps for the very sweetness of nature"

"My voice in my song resounding so lonely in the cold night"...

The music came to a pause, and stepping out of the tractor, a man in his mid sixties with huge broad chest and fine muscles stood before them.

He looked around the field and with careful inquiring eyes looked at crook while the latter avoided making eye contact.

"Sigh, cough"

He then began to walk round the cracked ground with every step being heavy but not slow nor loud in any way.

" I see that this is how it's going to be, has the advantage of being young made y'all almost being in vogue amongst the less polished societies and thinking of the world.—Every savage can now go about trespassing in boldness."

" First lesson commences this night" the man grind .

" I thought sir crook was in charge..."Oscar subconsciously voiced out.

"Laughs"

"I'll be sitting this one out and will only be the one in charge of mapping the layout of this training" Crook responded as he sat in the tractor.

The man walked towards the rear of the tractor and brought out few farming tools like a rake, three shovels, a mallet and a 3 meter plank .

They all looked at him like they had seen horror, the tools in which he had brought out were just crude farm tools which could only do meager remedy to a farm land.

" This can't be real , a mallet and just one to fix cracks on ground you definitely can't expect there to be any fixing with this. Are we seriously doing this" Holly complained..."thank God you said my mind " Ryan in support of what hilly and just said sighed.

"What are your names" he asked pointing at the two who were really not having it.

"Holly Green"

"Ryan Lancelot"

They responded respectively and boldly.

"You see kids, never assume that small tools can't make the best repairs. Although it's slow it's more delicate, and for that you both would be handling the mallet in turns every twenty minutes"

"First lesson Don't complain or bargain before even knowing what is to come"

Holly and Ryan faces turned green hearing the old man's words. It could be said that the old man was strict against those who tend to complain about his way of doing things.

It no wonder Crook backed off at the sight of the man's stance about training.

"So how do we go about this sir" Claire still struggling to stand straight inquired, quickly adapting to the situation.

"Well I initially wanted to leave it to you lot to figure it out but I'll make an exception"

" Assess the damage, would be advisable to use a stick to examine the cracked frame and determine the extent of the damage , just to know how deep the crack is. Check if the frame is still stable" the old man sniffed walking round the cracked ground which was still stained with vomit tho it was gross considering he had just sniffed in a foul air non dated to say anything.

"_Clear the area with the Use the rake to remove any debris, plants, or obstructions from the cracked area" Crook added.

After crook had spoken , there's remained silent waiting for the next information on how to go about the so called lessons they were receiving but to their disappointment the old man just walked into his tractor and drove a way with a smug smile in his face, as the tractor drove farther from them the only sound they could hear was the beat of the previous country song playing.

They all in dismay sighed as it was going to be a long day for them
