The awakening of mike

Chapter 2: The visitor

The Voice

Mike's eyes snapped open, and he sat up in bed, his heart racing. "We are one," a voice whispered in his ear.

He spun around, but there was no one there. Shaking his head, Mike threw off the covers and got out of bed. He needed some fresh air.

As he climbed up to the roof, Mike heard the sound of sirens in the distance. He walked over to the edge of the roof and looked out over the city.

A news report drifted from a nearby radio:

"...bodies found burned beyond recognition. Witnesses report seeing a Phoenix-like creature at the scene. Authorities are still investigating...".

Mike's eyes widened as he listened to the report. It was the same thing that had happened in his dream.

Suddenly, a voice behind him made Mike jump.

"Hey, Mike, what's going on?" Jackson Hewitt, Mike's friend, asked, eyeing him curiously.

Mike shook his head, trying to process what he had just heard. "Nothing, Jackson. Just...nothing."

Jackson raised an eyebrow but said nothing more.

Mike's mind was reeling. He needed to get out of there, clear his head. He decided to head to college, hoping the familiar routine would calm his nerves.

As he walked to campus, Mike almost got run over by a car. He dodged it easily, but his heart was racing.

"Not bad," a voice inside him said.

Mike spun around, but there was no one there. The voice seemed to come from within him.

He quickened his pace, his mind racing with questions. Who was this voice? What did it want?

As he ran back home, the voice spoke again:

"You're wondering who I am."

Suddenly, Mike felt himself being pulled into his own mind. Visions flashed before his eyes: an ancient temple, a jade pendant, a dark empire...

The voice spoke again:

"You are the chosen one, Mike. You wear the Jade Pendant, a symbol of power and courage. You have been chosen to fight the Emperor of Darkness during the Dark Moon Festival."

Mike's mind reeled as the visions faded. He stumbled backward, gasping for breath.

"No," he whispered. "This can't be real."

The voice laughed, a low, rumbling sound.

"We'll see about that," it said.

And with that, everything went black.

Mike felt himself falling, plummeting into a dark abyss.

But just as he thought all was lost, he heard the voice one last time:

"The Dark Moon Festival is coming. Be ready."

And then, everything was silent.

But Mike knew he wasn't alone. He could feel eyes watching him, waiting for him to make his move.

Mike's heart was racing as he slowly opened his eyes...and then out of fear he ran back to his apartment.

Mike stumbled through the front door of his apartment, his mind reeling from the events of the day. He couldn't shake the feeling that he was in over his head. The voice in his head, the visions, the prophecy... it was all too much to handle.

As he collapsed onto his bed, Mike couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over him. He was safe now, at least for the moment.

But as he drifted off to sleep, Mike was startled by a knock at the door. He sat up with a start, his heart racing.

"Who is it?" Mike called out, trying to keep his voice steady.

The door creaked open, and a tall, imposing figure loomed in the entrance. Mike's eyes widened as he took in the stranger's chiseled features and piercing blue eyes.

"I am Danzol," .
