Xyrine Jean's POV

"Look who's back. The assassin turned University Student – XJ Mont—"

"I need a car," I interrupted what Jacob was about to say.

He stared at me, then grinned mischievously. "You know, there's nothing I can't provide for you, my princess," he said with a wink, which I glared at.

"Really? Funny, it feels like just the other day you nearly let me die."

"Haha! Well, an order is an order. Besides, a handsome young man saved you, my dear princess," he grinned again. 'So annoying.'

I just looked away from his comment, "Anyways, I need a car. A racing car."

"Right, I forgot. You're already a university student now, and it looks like you're enjoying your new life."

I laughed sarcastically at his remark, "Fool. Do you know that I'm practically walking on the edge of a grave every day because of that university? And if I don't win this race, it's not just me—other students will get caught in it too!"

"Woah, hold on, where's that menacing aura coming from?" He stared at me, "Alright, since it looks like you're serious about this, I'll help you." He winked again.

"... and I need a racing track to practice."

He stared at me and then laughed loudly. "What? Practice? For that? You? So those kids really got on your nerves, huh?"

"And they will pay for it," I said firmly.

"Ohh, chill. You're getting all high-strung again."

I ignored his last remark, waving it off, and checked my wristwatch. It was only 9 in the morning, and the race starts at 8 in the evening, which means I still had time to practice.

The corner of my lips curled up. "Let's see who you're messing with, Spade, the fucking deck card!"

[After 8 hours]

I had already done several laps and loops when I noticed that it was starting to get dark. When I looked at my watch, it was almost five. I wanted to go home first, but I was so exhausted. I leaned back against the headrest of the car to rest, but because of my fatigue, I didn't realize how heavy my eyelids were.

Montreal University

ELLA'S POV

"Yessss! For sure, we're gonna win tonight!" I said happily to Tong as we walked.

"And how do you know that?" he asked.

"Because when I woke up this morning, Xyrine was already gone. Can you believe that? She woke up early just to practice!"

"Who's with her?"

He asked again, but why did his voice sound more attractive now? Like a hunk. 'Ack! What am I saying?' I just didn't respond to him.

"I'm asking you, who's with her?"

'Arg! Why is this nerd so persistent?' But I didn't answer or look at him, my eyes were scanning around, hoping to catch a glimpse of the 4 KINGS.

"Hey, twerp! I'm asking you, who's with her!?"

I froze in my tracks when he called me "twerp." "Who's the twerp? Me? Twer—Waaah!" I almost stepped back and my mouth went agape when I saw Spade, Ren, and Ten behind me.

'Wait, where's Tong? When did he leave me here?!'

"Are you deaf? I'm asking you, who's with your cousin?" Spade asked coldly, his tone colder than a freezer.

Ack! I felt like my tongue was tied. "Ah... well, when I woke up earlier, she was already gone, so I don't know either!"

"Stupid," he muttered as he turned away and walked off with the others.

When they were out of sight, I immediately touched my cheek and pulled it. 'Shocks! Did he just talk to me? Omg! Not only that, they were so close to me earlier. Ack!' I took a deep breath because I felt like I was about to hyperventilate.

But speaking of Xyrine...

"Where is Xyrine Jean?!"

Spade's POV

7:30 PM

As soon as we got out of the car, the deafening screams of students greeted us.

I scanned the area, looking for our opponents, especially the girl with the heavy hand, but I couldn't find her.

"Looks like they're not here yet," I heard Ten mutter.

Ren snickered at Ten's remark, "Don't tell me they already backed out?"

"Whether they show up or not, they're bound to lose," I said.

A few minutes later, a car pulled up behind us. When I saw a woman step out of it, my heart suddenly started pounding.

'Huh? What's with this sudden palpitations?'

I kept staring at her until I realized who she was. 'Tss. Palpitations, my ass.' I looked at my wristwatch and checked the time.

'It's already quarter to 8, so where the hell is she?'

"Where's your idiot cousin?" I asked when I approached her.

"H-huh?"

'What's with this twerp? Why is she always chewing on her words?' I just turned away, hoping I wouldn't see any drool from her.

Time check: 8:20 PM

"Dammit!" I finally blurted out.

"Dude, chill! They're probably coming." I looked toward where Ren was staring. I focused on the approaching car when my heart skipped another beat.

'Arg! What was that? Did I drink too much caffeine? Damn it! I don't even drink those. 

"Wazzup, bro!" The guy who got out of the car greeted us.

Ren walked toward Louren and tapped his back. "Dude! Ready for the race?" he asked.

"Yeah, Good luck!" Louren replied.

'What the hell?'

"Yo! What's up?" I frowned when he smiled at me.

"Hey, do you know what time it is?" I raised an eyebrow. "It's already quarter to 9! Can you explain why the rest of you aren't here yet?" He just smiled at what I said.

"Is there something to smile about—"

"She's coming..." He interrupted me and smiled again.

"As if I'm waiting —" SCREEHHH!

We all froze when a car suddenly screeched to a halt right in front of us. I had no idea who the driver was, but they expertly maneuvered the car and parked it in front of us.

'Ha. Trying to show off?'

"She's finally here," Louren said, looking at me.

I don't know why, but my heart stopped when I heard what he said. 'What the hell is wrong with this organ?'

I continued staring at the car as a woman stepped out of it.

*Bathump*

I quickly looked away. 'Fvck. Is there something wrong with the energy drink I had earlier?'

"Woah, what was that?" Tennessee's mouth formed an O.

"What an entrance," Ren said with a grin.

I kept looking at the woman who had just gotten out of the car.

'What's so amusing about a woman always wearing a black loose shirt and a black cap?' I stared at her...

*Bathump*

I quickly turned away.

'Wait, I think I need a drink. Right! I need to drink.'

I went to my car and got in. I drank an entire bottle of water, but my heartbeat was still erratic.

"Holy fvcking shit! What was that?!"

Xyrine Jean's POV

"XJJ!"

I jumped up in panic when I heard my name.

"Ouch!"

I hit my head on the roof of the car. 'Wait, why is it so dark?!' I quickly looked at my wristwatch and my eyes widened when I saw it was past 8.

"Hey, Jacob, why didn't you wake me up!" I shouted.

"Is it my fault you were sleeping like a log?" He laughed mischievously.

"Arg! Whatever!" I started the car engine. I have to be there by 8:30.

I need to make it or...

[Race Track Venue]

When I arrived at the race track, everyone was already there.

"Cuz, where have you been? Why didn't you come earlier? Spade's been grumpy as hell," Ella greeted me.

I looked at Spade. He was staring at me with a frown. I was about to approach him when he suddenly entered his car.

'Woah! What was that? This guy is really thick-skinned!' I didn't want to face him, but I had to talk to him, so I walked over.

"Hey, Spade. Come out!" I shouted, but he didn't come out. "Hey! Come out!" I shouted again.

Wow! He really doesn't want to come out, huh? He's really pissing me off. "You! Full of arrogance, make sure that if we win and you don't follow through with the deal—" I was cut off when someone suddenly grabbed my hand and pulled me against the car.

I almost gasped for air. "W-What are you doing?" I startled.

Instead of answering, he put his right arm on my left shoulder, then slowly brought his face closer.

'Shet. What's he doing? Is he possessed?'

"Arrogant?" I swallowed as he moved closer. "If you can beat us, don't just say it, prove it." He quickly pushed me away and got into his car.

'What? What was that!?'

"Arg! I will prove it! I'll make sure you lose. Arrogant!" I shouted, kicking his car.

"You two are always so intense when you fight, huh? Always leaning against things," someone suddenly appeared in front of me.

I raised an eyebrow at him, "So?"

He just laughed at what I said. Crazy MF. 

"Hey, are you ok?" I looked at the other guy.

I automatically looked down when I saw who it was. "O-ok, I'm fine. I'll Just go there," I said quickly, walking away from Louren.

'Shet. Why do I feel so nervous when I'm near him? Annoying!'

After what seemed like forever, the race finally began. The rules are like this: Two by two teams. They have to pass the flag between two people to reach the goal. The pairings are: Me and Tong vs. Spade and Monique, while the second pair is Louren and Ella vs. Ren and Ten. Now, our cars are already positioned.

"Do you think you can win against us?" Monique suddenly asked as we were about to get in our cars, while Spade looked off into the distance, clearly irritated.

"No idea," Louren answered.

"Stop the chit-chat, and let's finish this off," Spade said, so we had no choice but to get into our respective cars.

I glanced at the person beside me, Tong, who was holding on tightly to his seatbelt. "Hey, just chill. We got this." He smiled at my words but still looked a little nervous.

As soon as a woman holding a flag appeared in the middle, I tightened my grip on the steering wheel.

Sonemone: "READY! On your mark..."

I took a deep breath.

Sonemone: "GO!"

Spade's POV

"Fvck!" I immediately got out of the car.

Fvcking hell no! I looked at Louren's team. Yeah. They won against us. This is all Monique's fault. She screamed like she was on a freaking roller coaster while constantly touching me like some perverted shit.

"Look what you've done. They won the first round," I yelled at her.

"I'm sorry, ok?! But don't worry, I'll make sure the next round is ours," she said, then a devilish smile crept on her face.

"What do you mean?"

"Look."

I looked at what she was pointing at. She was pointing at Louren's car, 'and what does she mean by that?'

I grabbed her by both shoulders. "What the hell are you up to?" I asked.

"Get off me! I did it just for your sake, Spade!"

"WHAT DID YOU DO!? WHY LOUR'S CAR!?" My grip tightened.

"So what? She's still on Xyrine's side! Their loss is our gain!"

"ARE YOU FVCKING INSANE?!"

I couldn't help but shout. I heard people around us already causing a commotion. I immediately turned to the race track. It was Louren's car, starting to lose control. My heart dropped when I remembered there was a cliff in the direction his car was heading.

I turned back to Monique and grabbed her by the shoulders, "Remember this, Monique, if anything happens to Louren..." ... "YOU'RE A FVCKING DEAD!"

I left her in shock and quickly headed to my car. As I was about to get in, a car zoomed past me.

'Wait, whose car was that? It seems familiar.'

"Dammit!" I cursed when I realized it was Xyrine's car.

My heart was racing as I saw where her car was heading. It was going toward Louren's car. I didn't waste any more time and quickly started my car to follow her.

"Fvck it!" 'She's driving way too fast. What is she planning?'

I glanced back at Louren's car, which was now close to the cliff. When I returned my attention to Xyrine's car, I felt even more anxious. It was speeding up.

Back and forth, I kept looking at both cars when a loud crashing sound suddenly erupted around us. In the midst of everything happening so fast, I didn't realize what happened next until I stopped driving. I felt like I couldn't move.

I was still in a daze when I felt cars pulling up behind me.

"Holy shit! It's almost!" I heard Ren exclaim.

"Come on, let's check it out!" Ten urged, prompting me to quickly get out of the car.

"Ha! You are indeed crazy," I muttered in disbelief when I saw what had happened.

What kind of sane person would block their car at the edge of a cliff just to stop a car without brakes?

As I was getting closer, Louren suddenly got out of his car, followed by Xyrine's cousin.

"Damn it! Xyrine, why did you do that?" Louren shouted from outside his car, but no one responded.

"Xyrine! Xyrine! Are you okay? Please open the door!" He tried to open the door, but it was locked, and we couldn't see inside due to the tinted windows.

"Cousin, please get out of there! Don't die! I'll make you my maid of honor at our wedding with Spade!"

I gave her cousin a harsh look.

"Hehe...Spade, you're here too. Just kidding, hehe."

I ignored her and walked closer to the car. If they couldn't open it, I would. Just as I got closer, the door suddenly opened.

We all stopped in our tracks.

"Oh." The only word that came out of the woman's mouth as she stepped out of the car.

I stared at her.
