Chapter 3: Chapter 3: First Fight
Before Victor could react, light engulfed him.
The world around him twisted, his vision blurred, and a sensation of weightlessness overtook him.
It felt like he was falling, spinning, then—
Thud!
He hit the ground hard, rolling across dirt and grass.
"Cough, cough!"
Coughing, he pushed himself up, shaking off the dizziness.
When his vision cleared, he found himself in the middle of a village.
An old, ruined village—decayed by time.
The air was mild but carried some kind of white powder, scattered across the village, almost everywhere around him.
The environment felt eerie, as the sunlight struggled to pierce through the thick clouds—specifically here.
Victor quickly checked his surroundings. He was all alone.
A new notification appeared.

[ Welcome to the Bone Village – Beginner Zone ]
Danger Level: Low-Medium
Resources Available: Bones, Bone Powders, Low tier treasures

"Bone Village? A beginner zone? That means there wouldn't be anything too dangerous. But it also means other players could be nearby."
Victor took a deep breath to calm himself.
"But where's the danger?" Victor muttered in confusion, seeing nothing threatening.
However, he wasn't foolish enough to think danger wasn't lurking around. This village carried the scent of blood and decay.
Just as he took a step forward, the danger arrived.
But the danger was... a little too tiny.
[ Baby Skeleton - Level 1 ]
HP: 10/10
Threat Level: Low
Clatter, Clatter!
A small skeleton, in the size and shape of a baby, approached with a clattering sound.
"Ah, you're adorable!" Victor muttered, finding it amusing.
Slowly, it inched closer with tiny footsteps, acting all innocent and harmless.
But as soon as it neared his leg, its hollow eyes glowed with an eerie light, and its sharp, shark-like jaws opened wide, intending to bite Victor.
Victor was wearing only a T-shirt and short pant. If it bit him, the wound would be really fatal—or at the very least, a chunk of his flesh would be gouged out.
"Bang!"
Just then, Victor raised his right leg and kicked hard.
"Do you take me for a child to fall for your tricks?"
Victor smirked as he watched the baby skeleton crumble to pieces.
[You have slain a Baby Skeleton. EXP +5 ]
"This body is really weak!" Victor muttered, feeling a searing pain in his right leg.
It seemed the impact had been painful, as a bruise was slowly forming at the point of contact.
"All this pain for just 5 EXP? How much more do I need to level up?"
With curiosity and expectation, Victor commanded the stats panel to open. Previously, he hadn't paid enough attention due to the strangeness of the situation.

"Oh damn, I have to kill 20 of them to level up? That's crazy!" Victor said, slightly exasperated.
"Grrrr."
Just then, more skeletons emerged from the shadows of alleyway.
But this time, they weren't just baby skeletons. There were bigger ones as well.
A group of five advanced toward him—two baby skeletons and three normal human-sized skeletons.
[ Normal Skeleton - Level 1 ]
HP: 25/25
Threat Level: Low
Victor tensed. 'This is going to be a lot of pain...'
He quickly scanned his surroundings and grabbed a piece of cardboard from a nearby pile of debris. It wasn't the sturdiest weapon, but it was better than nothing.
His fingers tightened around the flimsy material, and he adjusted his stance.
The skeletons clattered toward him, their hollow eye sockets glowing faintly. The eerie sound of bones clicking together sent a shiver down his spine, but he remained calm.
"Swoosh!"
The first normal skeleton lunged at him, its bony fingers reaching for his throat. Victor reacted instantly, swinging the cardboard sideways with all his strength. He aimed precisely at its weakest point—the joints holding its limbs together.
"Bang!"
The force of the strike shattered the skeleton's structure, sending its bones scattering across the ground. The baby skeleton beside it was caught in the momentum and crumbled into dust.
[ Critical Hit: -27 ]
[ EXP +10 ]
[ EXP +5 ]
Victor grinned. '10 EXP for the bigger ones? Then this might not be so bad after all.'
"Swish!"
He swung cardboard once again, sensing another one moved forward to attack him.
"Bam!"
His heart pounded with excitement. This was nothing like his previous life. He was fighting real, supernatural creatures now. The sensation of battle, the rush of adrenaline, it was exhilarating.
Victor wasn't just an ordinary treasure hunter or tomb raider. He had spent years navigating ancient ruins, avoiding traps, and even engaging in the occasional scuffle with rival hunters or hostile guards.
Combat wasn't new to him.
At first, the moving skeletons had unsettled him, but now he was reading their movements.
He observed their slow, predictable attacks, the slight hesitation before they lunged. Their movements were unnatural yet rigid, and that was something he could exploit.
Still, his new body was weak. Every swing took more effort than he was used to, and his stamina drained quicker than he expected. He had skill, but his physical limitations were frustrating.
Even so—
If he, an adult with years of experience, couldn't handle low-level skeletons, that would be downright embarrassing.
Straightening his posture, Victor tightened his grip on the cardboard and turned toward the remaining enemies.
"Alright, who's next?"
But there was only one Baby Skeleton left, who was shivering as if it were pitiful.
"Stop with your act. Go away, you too."
With that, Victor swung once, crushing the last Baby Skeleton.
Alongside it, his "weapon" was broken to pieces as well.
[ EXP: 45/100 ]
[ Stamina: 4/6 ]
With the drop in Stamina, Victor felt weak and tired. He was feeling hungry as well.
If the Stamina fell to 0, he wouldn't die, but it would probably weaken him so much that he wouldn't be able to move.
Instead of worrying, his attention immediately turned to the shiny objects dropped where the Skeletons had stood.
[Skeletons have dropped the following items: ]
• Rib Bones 3x (Crafting Materials)
• Thigh Bone 1x (Crafting Materials)
