Supreme Casanova: Ultimate Harem System

Chapter 154: Deal With Emily!

Hugo blinked, standing frozen in the doorway like a deer caught in headlights. Emily's expectant smile didn't falter, but her raised eyebrow suggested she was waiting for something.

Emily tilted her head slightly, a faint smile playing on her lips. "Well, aren't you going to invite me in?"

Hugo's brain short-circuited for a moment. 'Invite her in? Into my dorm? Where I live? With my… socks on the floor and my questionable choices in wall posters?!'

He jolted as if her words had just reminded him how doors worked. "Oh! Right, of course. Come in!" He stepped aside awkwardly, his mind screaming,

'Why is she here? What's happening?'

As she walked in, Hugo quickly scanned the room, praying it didn't look too much like a war zone.

He spotted an empty pizza box on the couch, a half finished soda can on the coffee table, and—dear God—Collins' collection of weird gym magazines stacked on the floor.

'At least Collins isn't here,' Hugo thought, relief flooding through him.

Collins had taken his shiny new car for a spin earlier, bragging about "turning heads," which in his words, meant speeding dangerously and hoping someone noticed.

If he'd been here, he'd probably be sitting next to Emily, grinning like a shark and saying things like, 'Oh, I love your outfit, what's your number?' Hugo shuddered at the thought.

Emily sat down, crossing her legs gracefully as she looked around the room. Hugo, meanwhile, was still standing awkwardly near the door, his heart racing.

'What do I do? What do I say?' he thought, his mind spiraling into chaos. 'Why is she here? Is this some kind of prank? Did Collins set this up?'

"Do you want something to drink?" Hugo asked finally, his voice an octave higher than usual.

"Juice? Water? I think we might have soda…" He trailed off, realising he probably sounded like a waiter.

"No, I'm good," Emily replied, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "I didn't come here to drink. Thanks, though."

Hugo hovered for a second before slowly lowering himself into the chair opposite her.

The silence that followed felt heavier than it should have, and Hugo's mind raced.

'Why is she here? We're not even friends. We barely talk! The only reason I know her at all is because of Loli introducing us that one time… so what is happening right now?!'

"So…" Emily began, breaking the silence. Her voice was calm, casual, like she wasn't sitting in the middle of a guy's dorm room out of nowhere. "I actually came to ask for a favour."

That caught Hugo's attention. He blinked, his mind racing with possibilities.

'A favour? What kind of favour? Wait, does she want me to help her with homework? Or maybe she needs help moving furniture? No, no, that's too boring. What if it's something huge? What if she's in trouble? What if—'

"I need you to pretend to be my boyfriend," Emily said, dropping the words so casually that it took Hugo a full five seconds to process them.

"...What?" he finally croaked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Emily leaned back on the couch, completely calm. "My family's hosting a dinner party, and I need to bring a boyfriend. Only problem is, I don't have one. So, I was hoping you could help me out."

Hugo stared at her, his jaw practically on the floor. His brain felt like it had short circuited.

'Pretend to be her boyfriend? Is this real life? Am I in a rom-com? This is the kind of thing that only happens in cheesy movies, right?'

"Why… me?" Hugo asked finally, his voice cracking slightly. "I mean, don't you have, like, a million other guys who'd jump at the chance to do this?"

Emily shrugged. "Yeah, but most of them would take it too seriously. I don't need complications.

"I just need someone I can trust to play the part and then walk away afterward. And you…" She paused, giving him a pointed look. "You're not the type to overthink things, are you?"

'Not the type to overthink? Lady, I'm overthinking this right now!' Hugo thought. But instead of voicing that, he cleared his throat and tried to act cool. "Uh… thanks?"

Emily chuckled softly, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "Look, I know it's a lot to ask, but it's just one night. You don't have to do anything crazy. Just smile, make some small talk, and pretend like we're… together."

Hugo leaned back in his chair, his mind still reeling. 'This is so surreal. Do things like this actually happen? Like, outside of bad teen movies? Is the universe playing some kind of joke on me?'

After a long pause, Hugo finally nodded, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Alright, I'll do it."

Emily smiled, but Hugo wasn't done. "On two conditions," he added, straightening up slightly.

Emily raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Conditions? Let's hear them."

Hugo leaned forward, his eyes gleaming with a mix of amusement and determination.

"One, you have to promise me this won't involve any crazy drama or over the top family feuds. I've seen enough movies to know how these things go."

Emily laughed. "Fair enough. And the second?"

Hugo hesitated for a moment, then took a deep breath. Here goes nothing. "You have to go on one real date with me. Not a pretend one, a real one. Just you and me."

Emily's eyes widened slightly, and for a moment, Hugo wondered if he'd just ruined everything.

But then she smiled—a small, genuine smile that made his heart skip a beat.

"Deal," she said, extending her hand.

Hugo shook her hand, trying not to let his nerves show. 'This is actually happening. I'm going to a fancy dinner as Emily's fake boyfriend. And I'm getting a real date out of it too. What is my life right now?'
