Chapter 128: Xiaohongmao Invades the Alliance (Part 1)
July 5th, ten in the morning, Huanjing, Fandiel downtown area.
The dark-haired girl dressed in a Gothic-style gown positioned her tachi at the neck of the mutant criminal "Deadflame," lowered her pretty face, and said in an even tone.
"I'd advise not to group me with the other Magic Girls. If you continue to struggle, I really will kill you."
"Then kill me!"
As Deadflame spoke, his body suddenly burst forward. The moment his neck came close to the tachi, it instantly turned into a streak of flame, allowing his tachi to brush through the fire.
Following that, he raised his right hand, which housed a roaring blaze, quickly forming a fireball.
Deadflame made a bowling-like gesture and hurled the fireball at Ash, but it was blocked by the umbrella held open by Cinderella.
Next, a circle of gray magic power ripples spread out from the umbrella, effortlessly knocking Deadflame back several meters.
In the next instant, as Deadflame was about to escape in his flaming form, he found his body enveloped in layer upon layer of snowflakes. He couldn't turn into flame under extreme coldness—his greatest weakness.
"Who the hell are you?!"
Deadflame roared within the swirl of snowflakes, struggling forward as he looked up at the sky.
Reflected in his cloudy pupils was a girl dressed in a Christmas gown, topped with a Christmas hat, holding a ruby magic wand.
"Xiaohongmao?"
Upon seeing this, Magic Girl Ash slightly arched her brow and looked up at Magic Girl Xiaohongmao hovering mid-air.
"You know, senior, could you knock him out before saying hi to me?" Xiaohongmao said expressionlessly.
"Isn't that obvious?"
As Magic Girl Ash spoke irritably, she reached out her right hand and took a magic book from inside Cinderella's umbrella, swiftly pulling out a magic card and holding it in her palm.
This card was her original [Anesthetic Magic Guided Missile], which could create a series of magic-guided bullets with anesthetic effects.
Since these bullets were meant to stun criminals, their lethality was much less than typical magic missiles, but they were just right for this situation.
As the card made a "click" sound and shattered into lights, Cinderella's gun chamber was loaded with fresh bullets. Ash raised the tip of the umbrella, aimed it at the scrambling Deadflame, and pulled the trigger.
Bang!
With the gunshot, the silver-gray magic-guided bullet tore through the cold air and accurately struck and penetrated Deadflame's shoulder, the blood flowing out into the raging flames below.
He first struggled on the ground for a while, his body twitching, before quickly falling asleep under the bullet's anesthetic effect, closing his eyes.
Seeing this, Ash turned her gaze away, looked at Xiaohongmao, gathered up Cinderella's umbrella, and asked, "So, what brings you here?"
Xiaohongmao descended slowly from the sky, approaching Ash, her skirt fluttering with the snowflakes.
"I've completed my file, senior Ash, please help me pass it along to senior Xizi Yue."
As she spoke, she pulled a crumpled, folded file from her gown's pocket and handed it to Ash.
Ash took the file, glanced at it, then looked up with a questioning look and asked, "So, you come from a poor mountain village?"
"Can't a child from a poor mountain village become a Magic Girl, or are you being a bit prejudiced...?"
"That's not what I mean," Ash sighed, clutching the file in her hand, "Anyway, doesn't it say your grandmother passed away before you were born? You never met her, so why did you say last time that she left you a bottle with healing medicine in it?"
"Actually, that was given to me by a strange thing," Xiaohongmao said candidly. "It said you definitely wouldn't accept it if it gave it to you in person, so it made me lie to you."
Magic Girl Ash initially looked startled, then frowned.
"And you just listened to it and lied to me?"
"I did it because I cared about you, senior. Are you very angry?"
Upon hearing this, Ash sighed with one hand on her hip and the other on her forehead, "You really are full of lies."
"Senior, you really are all about yourself," Xiaohongmao began taking the moral high ground, "I am an orphan who has suffered so much since childhood. If I didn't lie, I wouldn't have survived."
Ash opened her mouth to retort but then fell silent for a long while.
In the end, she just turned her face away coldly and said, "Never mind, I won't hold it against you. Let's go, to the primary school near Yandai Commercial Street."
"Yandai Commercial Street, hasn't that school been closed for many years?"
"Yes, that's why it's now a secret base for the Alliance, where we usually discuss important matters. We only go to the Alliance building occasionally when we need to make a public appearance."
"Oh, I see," Xiaohongmao nodded.
"You really are a 'three no's' person."
"Three no's?"
"Haven't seen the anime? No speech, no expression, no emotion."
Xiaohongmao, resting her hand on her chin and expressionless, said, "Senior, I think you are a bit too into anime. Speaking of anime, I've seen a lot of people selling comics at the Magic Girl fan club with you as the main character. Most of those comics are pretty explicit, some call them 'doujinshi,' they..."
"Stop, stop, stop, stop! Haven't I told you not to wander around those messy sites?"
Ash quickly interrupted, turning her head with an annoyed look and glaring at Xiaohongmao.
