Chapter 146: Avengers XI

Loki's smirk faltered as he saw the Infinity Stone pulsing atop Dave's sword, its raw energy vibrating through the air. The stone's glow was like a heartbeat, syncing with the aura of destruction emanating from Dave.

"You dare wield an Infinity Stone against me?" Loki sneered, his voice tinged with indignation. He raised his scepter, its Mind Stone gleaming brightly as it reacted to the challenge. "Do you even understand the power you're toying with?"

Dave stepped forward, his movements deliberate, his confidence unshaken. "I understand enough," he replied. "Enough to know you're out of your league, Loki."

Without another word, Loki thrust his scepter forward, releasing a torrent of golden energy. The blast ripped through the air, surging straight toward Dave. But instead of dodging, Dave raised his sword, channeling the Power Stone's energy through its blade. With a single swing, the blast was cleaved in two, the energy dissipating harmlessly around him.

Loki's eyes widened in disbelief. "Impossible!" he exclaimed.

Dave didn't respond. He vanished in a blur, reappearing behind Loki in an instant. The sharp edge of the Devil Sword Dante grazed Loki's armor as the Asgardian spun around just in time to deflect the strike with his scepter. The clash of their weapons sent shockwaves through the Stark Tower, shattering glass and sending debris flying.

"You're not the only one with tricks, Loki," Dave said, his voice calm despite the ferocity of the battle.

Loki snarled, leaping back to create distance. He raised the scepter, its tip glowing brighter as he prepared another attack. "You think you can match me? A god?!" he roared, unleashing another surge of Mind Stone energy.

Dave planted his feet, gripping the hilt of his sword tightly. He poured the Power Stone's energy into the blade, creating a barrier of raw force that absorbed the Mind Stone's attack. The ground beneath him cracked and crumbled under the immense power.

"Gods, mortals—it's all the same," Dave said, his voice steady as he took a step forward, shattering the remnants of Loki's attack. "You think power makes you untouchable. I'm here to prove you wrong."

With a surge of energy, Dave lunged at Loki, their weapons colliding in a blinding explosion of light and sound. The battle raged on, each strike shaking the very foundation of Stark Tower. Dave's controlled ferocity matched Loki's cunning and precision, the two warriors pushing each other to their limits.

But as the battle wore on, it became clear that the Power Stone was tipping the scales in Dave's favor. Loki's strikes grew more desperate, his movements less calculated. Dave, on the other hand, seemed to grow stronger with every swing of his blade.

Finally, with a decisive strike, Dave disarmed Loki, sending the scepter clattering to the ground. He held the tip of his glowing sword inches from Loki's chest. "It's over," he said, his voice cold.

Loki glared at him, his expression a mixture of rage and frustration. "You think this changes anything?" he spat. "You're too late. The portal is open, and my army will crush this world."

Dave didn't flinch. "Then I'll deal with your army next," he said. "But first, you're going to answer for what you've done."

Before Loki could respond, a flash of lightning struck the ground between them, forcing them apart. Thor landed in the middle, Mjolnir in hand. "Enough, Loki!" Thor bellowed. "Your schemes end here!"

Dave stepped back, his gaze never leaving Loki. "He's all yours," he said to Thor. "But don't take too long. There's still an army to deal with." With that, he turned and walked away, his sword still glowing faintly as he prepared for the next battle.

Dave, while moving away, also took Loki's scepter sneakily. As he reached the Tesseract machine, he spoke, "I'm closing the portal."

Tony and Fury's voices echoed in his comms. "Don't, we've got a problem," Fury's voice was heavy.

"A rogue just took an Nuclear-missile shot, and it's aiming a nuke at New York," Fury said.

Dave replied, "Why didn't you stop him?"

"You think I didn't try?" Fury snapped.

Dave shrugged. "Anyway, let the nuke come. Tony will redirect it through the portal."

Fury nodded, though his tone was still tense. "You sure about this?"

"Hey, ask me if I'm willing to be a target for a nuke," Tony joked through the comms.

Dave smirked. "You have to just send your nano-bots and can hack into the missile and change its route."

Tony rolled his eyes. "I know, I was just joking."

"Not the time for jokes with a nuke on the way," Captain said, clearly focused as he fought off a Leviathan.

Tony muttered under his breath, "Yeah, sure, Dave, I'll hack it and change the course."

Dave nodded in response as Tony nodded. "just wait I will inform when the missiles came, Tony."

On the ground, Rhodes was helping civilians by creating water domes, while Hawkeye assisted him. Emma and the others also worked in the air, ensuring no one got injured in the skirmish. Together, they worked to eliminate the threat of the Chitauri invasion.

After a moment, Dave spotted the incoming missile on the horizon and said, "Tony, you're up."

Tony looked in the direction of the incoming missile. He aimed at it and fired a small, paperplane-sized jet at it. The small jet moved quickly and latched onto the missile. "I am in control," Tony said, guiding it like a remote-controlled toy.

"Then move it to the portal," Dave said, drawing his sword, ready to close the portal.

"Got it," Tony responded, maneuvering the missile, carefully controlling it. He directed it toward the hole in the sky, getting it into position. As the missile entered the portal, Tony called out, "Close it!"

Dave nodded, moving swiftly. He slashed through the Tesseract machine with his sword, sealing the portal. The Tesseract's energy crackled as the device activated. However, something went wrong—there was a massive explosion.

Boom!!!

"Dave!!" Tony screamed, seeing the chaos unfold. A wave of force blasted through the area. The smoke cleared, and Dave was seen, strangely unharmed except for being completely naked, with only his underwear left intact. His clothes had been obliterated in the blast, leaving everyone to wonder how he had survived the explosion.
