He now had two fine blades in his possession, one was the Evil Ghost Blade, which could be used as a blade, and the other was the indestructible Scrap Sword.

Lin Shen said with a chuckle, talking to himself, "Naturally, I'm not that kind of person to be strictly defensive. However, I could still practice it. That way, when I come across someone using such a defensive blade technique, I'll know how to break it."

Lin Shen took the blade manual and began to read it with relish, and before he knew it, several hours had passed.

There were only ten moves in the blade technique, but each one was the essence of defense against different forms of attack, each with a fixed set of moves.

Lin Shen worked hard to memorize all ten moves, practicing each one until he had the form and style down pat, and he picked it up quite quickly.

As he practiced, Lin Shen felt as if the blade technique was missing something. After giving it some thought, he realized why he had always felt something was lacking.

He was practicing with a scrap sword, holding the sword in one hand and the scabbard in the other. While the sword was being utilized, the scabbard remained idle.

"Yes, Lord Dean. He only borrowed one blade manual," the librarian confirmed after checking the borrowing records again.

The Dean furrowed his brows, "The Greed for Life and Fear of Death Sword is merely a defensive blade technique, not even top-tier by itself. It's only on this floor purely because it, together with another technique called the Cut Off Descendants and Grandchildren Sword, constitute a dual sword-blade technique. They were the secret skills of Zhuo Lianxin, the universe's former number one most-wanted criminal. After our clan killed Zhuo Lianxin, we only found the Greed for Life and Fear of Death Sword on him, not the Cut Off Descendants and Grandchildren Sword. The blade technique on its own is purely defensive and doesn't qualify to be on this floor by itself. So, what is he planning to do with this single blade manual?"

No one could answer him. He felt it was a bit strange, but he didn't ask any further questions. Since it was just one secret manual being borrowed, it didn't warrant too much attention.

However, after the Dean returned to his office, he still contacted An Jiahe to notify him of Lin Shen's borrowing of the Greed for Life and Fear of Death Sword manual.
