Suits: A Lawyer Surviving TV Chaos

Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Rajesh’s Sister

"How did you know they were police?"
"I read a novel when I was a kid, and the scene was very similar to what just happened."
"A novel...why would you talk to them and ask for the time?"
"It's a smokescreen. You know, no drug dealer would approach police officers carrying a box of marijuana."
"Why don't you just come work for me? I'm willing to offer a signing bonus of $25,000."
"I'm willing to accept the job."
"Actually, we only accept Harvard Law School graduates. Not only have you not attended Harvard, you haven't even studied at any law school..."
"What if I told you my learning ability is stronger than anyone else's, and I can pass the bar exam?"
"I'd just think you're a not-so-clever con artist!"
"You can try me. Isn't the Barbri Legal Handbook right in front of you? You can flip to any page and ask me a question."
Martin sat on the sofa next to them, legs crossed, left hand supporting his chin like Vito Corleone in The Godfather, watching with interest as the two went back and forth like a courtroom debate.
Hearing Mike ask him to give a question, Harvey turned to look at Martin. Martin leisurely shook his head, indicating that he wouldn't interfere.
After a brilliant exchange of legal knowledge questions and answers, Mike Ross officially became a paralegal at Pearson Hardman.
After Mike Ross left with a box of marijuana, Martin said with a smile, "Aren't you afraid Jessica will find out and skin you alive?"
Harvey shook his head nonchalantly: "I need a smart assistant, and he's the one."
"But his educational background will cause you a lot of trouble."
"Aren't lawyers the most fond of trouble? That means a steady stream of consulting fees."
They chatted briefly, and the interview continued.
The quality of this year's Harvard Law School JD graduates was indeed not very high. They had enough knowledge reserves, but they lacked flexibility. Harvey and Martin barely managed to find a few passable JDs and sent the rest back to school.
The last person interviewed was an Indian girl named Priya Koothrappali.
After bringing her in and asking a few simple questions, Martin immediately decided to choose her as his paralegal.
When Priya left, Harvey carefully noted her rather good figure, then turned to look at Martin, his eyes carrying an ambiguous meaning.
Should he tell Jessica about this guy's...hobbies?

After leaving the hotel, Martin parted ways with the other three and went straight back to his apartment in Queens. Priya Koothrappali, who had just finished the interview, was sitting inside, somewhat struggling to deal with Howard's overly enthusiastic behavior.

Rajesh was chattering away on the side, seemingly trying to stop something. Leonard and Penny were setting out a large pile of takeout food on the dining table, which looked very sumptuous. Only Sheldon sat on the sofa cushion known as "the prime coordinate," playing on his computer.

Seeing Martin return, Rajesh let go of Howard's hand and ran over to give him a big hug. "Martin, you're my best friend! The Koothrappali family will forever remember your friendship!"

Martin responded with a smile: "Rajesh, you don't have to take it to heart. Priya is not only your sister, but also my classmate at Harvard. I know how excellent she is." That's right, Priya Koothrappali is Rajesh's sister, his biological sister.

"nononono!" Rajesh's Indian accent always made his nasal sounds particularly heavy: "Not all excellent people can get such good job opportunities!"

At this time, Priya also stood up and walked over, hugging Martin with a smile: "Thank you, Martin. If it weren't for you, I would have returned to India by now."

"Starting Monday, please call me boss." Martin joked, then extended his right hand: "Priya, I wish you a happy future working together!" "Happy working together!"

After returning to his room and changing his clothes, a small party celebrating Priya's successful interview was ready. "Let's dedicate the first glass to the beautiful Priya Koothrappali, celebrating her formal graduation and the start of her legal career!"

Howard, who was particularly active today, stole the opening remarks. "To Priya!" The friends all raised their glasses in a toast.

Then, Priya spoke again: "Please allow me to dedicate the second glass to Martin. He not only gave me the opportunity, but also became a legend at Harvard Law School!" "To Martin!"

After two glasses of wine or drinks, Penny asked curiously: "Priya, what do you mean by that legend? What happened to Martin?" "Of course, Martin has only been a Doctor of Law for a month, and now he is already a senior lawyer!"

Priya explained the internal position levels and promotion requirements of the law firm to the friends present, and also revealed that he had signed fourteen million-dollar contracts in one night. Except for Penny's exclamation, the other four science nerds had no reaction at all. Priya expressed her incomprehension of this.

Martin shrugged, picked up a piece of sweet and sour pork ribs and put it in his bowl: "Priya, these few are all geniuses. This kind of thing is nothing in their eyes."

"Okay!" Priya expressed that she was completely defeated by this group of perverts.

Penny happily came over and hugged Martin: "Although I don't quite understand, this must be a remarkable achievement in the legal profession, congratulations!"

What followed was normal chat time, six young men and women eating and chatting, the atmosphere seemed very harmonious.

It wasn't until Priya went to the bathroom that the hidden struggle was brought to the table.

Rajesh pulled the few men together, his eyes particularly serious: "Although there is no need to specifically explain, I still want to reiterate that you are absolutely not allowed to touch my sister!"

"Why would we touch your sister? She's covered in all kinds of bacteria from the hotel." Sheldon said matter-of-factly: "Of course, Martin is the same, after all, you were at the same hotel for the interview before."

"I've changed my clothes." Martin argued.

"But you haven't taken a shower..."

"Pause!" Rajesh interrupted the argument between the two, and then looked left and right at Martin and Howard's faces: "I wasn't talking about Sheldon, I'm talking about you two!"

Howard looked incredulous: "Rajesh, how can you look at me like that? Do I look so thirsty?"

"You looked just like Garfield smelling catnip just now." Rajesh said expressionlessly: "And you, Martin, although I'm very grateful for your help, you can't use your position as my sister's boss to sexually harass her..."

"Don't worry." Martin shook his head with a smile: "I don't want to get myself into trouble."

Rajesh frowned: "To be honest, I'm more worried that my sister will take the initiative to sexually harass you..."

"I'll remind her in time, okay?" Martin patted his chest and promised: "Sheldon can testify for me."

The others present looked questioningly at the somewhat embarrassed Sheldon.

Sheldon was obviously a little uncomfortable, and finally, under everyone's gaze, he had to explain: "Ever since my sister had her first period, all she thinks about every day is how to get Martin into bed, but she hasn't succeeded even once..."

"Is it because your sister isn't pretty?" Leonard asked curiously.

Martin interjected: "Although it's not very nice to say this, but to give you a direct concept, you can imagine Gisele Bündchen from the Victoria's Secret show..."

"Wow..."

Even Rajesh, who was still confident just now, began to have flights of fancy...
