Chapter 237: Chapter 237: Ai Er’s Ruthless Precision
"Mello, locate the optimal strike zone. Orca, deploy all drones. Storm Fleet's main and secondary cannons, prepare to fire. Load the interstellar missiles on the T5 Pegasus-class and T5 Sword Dragon. Fleet Steed, open the interstellar warp gate."
Following Feng Mo's orders, the various commanders executed his commands promptly. The Storm Fleet glowed brilliantly, with the crimson light from the T5 Battle Planet standing out vividly.
The Fleet Steed, already prepared, released its energy matrix, creating a massive blue warp gate as streams of blue energy gathered in the cosmos.
Seeing the warp gate open, Feng Mo continued with his commands:
"T5 Pegasus-class and T5 Sword Dragon, aim for the warp gate and launch tracking missiles. Storm Fleet, radar-guided targeting on enemy starships. Battle Planet, lock onto the enemy flagship. Fire!"
At his command, the Pegasus and Sword Dragon unleashed a barrage of tracking missiles—11,200 T5 missiles entered the warp gate. Moments later, they emerged directly above the New Humanity Church fleet.
The missiles immediately split into 33,600 smaller missiles, each with micro-radar guidance and leaving fiery trails as they homed in on their targets.
Naturally, the New Humanity Church's fleet detected the missiles on radar. Though the missiles were already overhead, the fleet quickly activated their star shields and anti-air cannons to intercept the attack.
However, without an automated targeting lock, the effectiveness of the rapid-fire cannons was significantly reduced. Feng Mo observed that the enemy's missile interception rate was only 43%—a slight smile curved on his lips.
With less than half intercepted, this wave alone would devastate over a third of the New Humanity Church's starships. The warp capabilities of the Fleet Steed had proven to be a game-changer in such assaults.
And Feng Mo was holding back; if he'd transported the entire Storm Fleet, a single barrage would have been enough to obliterate the Church's 1,000+ T5 ships.
With the advent of warp ships and battle planets, only a quasi-T6 fleet could hope to stand against the Storm Fleet.
Simultaneously, the Orca deployed 1,100 drones, which sped toward the enemy fleet. Upon reaching firing range, both drones and bombers unleashed their arsenal, weaving a net of missiles and laser fire around the enemy fleet.
Meanwhile, the self-destruct drones accelerated to speeds over 1,000 star-knots per second, aiming straight for the enemy flagship with a relentless fervor.
Inside the control rooms of the three quasi-T6 flagships, alarms sounded in unison.
"Warning! Incoming missile barrage detected. Star shields at full power, initiating interception with anti-air cannons. Drones have locked onto the fleet. Awaiting orders!"
The repeated alarm calls startled the three high-ranking members of the New Humanity Church commanding the fleet. They had barely arrived in the Beast Roar System, with no time to maneuver, when they found themselves under a barrage of over 30,000 missiles, followed by 1,000 drones.
They were aghast—was there no law, no sense of reason? They had lost twice before, attributing it to inadequate fleet quality, so they'd requisitioned three T5 fleets directly from their headquarters, eager to make a strong counterattack.
But before they could even establish formation, they were facing annihilation. Regardless of disbelief, they had no choice but to accept the situation, as the barrage was already upon them.
Explosions and deafening blasts resonated through the control rooms of the enemy ships. The star shields of the fleet shattered instantly, with only the three quasi-T6 flagships barely holding out, their shield energy rapidly depleting.
Finally, the barrage eased. The commanders, feeling a brief moment of relief, checked their radar displays—only to see that over 500 green markers representing their ships had vanished. They knew then that the battle's outcome was set.
Before they could issue a retreat order, a second wave of missiles and laser fire descended upon the fleet.
While the drones continued their bombardment, Mello seized the chaos to unleash all the antimatter obliteration missiles and proton torpedoes from the five T5 Mystic Birds, before withdrawing.
The costly neutron missiles were held back, as firing more would be a waste. This strike left less than 300 heavily damaged enemy ships afloat.
"Storm Fleet, fire the main and secondary cannons!"
With Feng Mo's command, a blazing red beam and dozens of amber beams shot forth, followed by hundreds of orange and blue beams.
The radar-generated image showed the most intense red beam splitting into multiple rays, destroying one T5 starship after another before piercing through the enemy flagship, then the T5 ship behind it.
The amber beams struck in chains, taking out two or three ships each, while the orange and blue beams blanketed the fleet in a devastating assault.
Watching the annihilation unfold, Feng Mo suddenly realized something and slapped his leg in frustration, turning to Feng Xian beside him.
"Damn, I forgot to hold back. Feng Xian, take the mech squad and see if there are any survivors!"
"Yes, my lord!"
Feng Xian promptly exited the control room, leaving Feng Mo fuming. He'd gotten so caught up in the battle that he'd forgotten to leave any survivors—though the New Humanity Church's ships weren't exactly durable, either.
Slightly annoyed yet hopeful, Feng Mo thought of what Feng Xian might uncover. Ideally, a few thousand captives, preferably some high-ranking members, could be brought back for interrogation.
In the archives of the Radiant Empire, Feng Mo had found numerous intriguing methods, many of which he hadn't yet had the chance to employ. There were hundreds of interrogation techniques to try, and this was the perfect opportunity to test some of them on the New Humanity Church's leaders.
Their ranks were filled with zealots, minds numbed from genetic splicing with beast DNA. These brainwashed soldiers, with their unnatural vitality, would find such techniques excruciating.
Watching the radar feed, Feng Mo saw Feng Xian leading a hundred T4 Titanium-class mechs into the battlefield. It reminded him that the mech squad still lacked T5 units, and with the mission rewards offering ten thousand points, perhaps it was time to upgrade their gear.
Nearly an hour later, Feng Xian's mech squad returned from their search, having extracted survivors from a few relatively intact enemy vessels before retreating. The remaining
ships were blasted into fragments, with no life signals left to detect.
