Chapter 133: Perilious Time for the Bugs

The Empyrean Power that remained after the usage of the Dimension Empyrean, after which the Empyrean Power was latching on the Psionic Energy of the Arachnids and was spreading among them like a plague and destroying one after another.

Due to the appearance of the Empyrean Power, the Arachnids that were present in the Frostearth Valley panicked because they could recognize the danger of the Empyrean Power and how hazardous it was against them due to their strong connection to the Psionic Energy.

'I am activating a device that will summon here the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears.'

Arcturus, who was observing the Arachhnids that were trying to escape from the remnants of the Empyrean Power that was trying to latch on anything with a Psionic Energy like a leech, suddenly got the message from Zehal, who was going to activate the second phase of their plan.

The second phase of their plan would see them luring a whole bunch of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears that would lure even more of the powerful Arachnids out of the Arachnid Nest to combat the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears.

During that time, the Arachnid Nest would be at its weakest.

Right now, through Zehal's schemes and Arcturus's usage of the Dimension Empyrean, they had already caused tremendous losses to the Arachnids as thousands of the bugs perished, and Arcturus could see that some bits of the Empyrean Power were latching itself, onto the Arachnid Nest itself.

Which was the most curious development.

This, in fact, wasn't something that he had predicted would happen because, according to his original calculations, he thought that the remaining Empyrean Power that was remaining on the battlefield would be spread among the bugs and destroy some bugs before it would dissipate.

Yet, some of it managed to latch onto the bio-matter walls of the Arachnid Nest, and it seemed that it started feeling onto the materials from which the Arachnid Nest was made and was spreading at a fast rate.

Like a cancer...

[Proficiency with the Super-High Risk Primal Psyker Ability Dimenison Empyrean has been increased by 5%.]

[Proficiency with the Super-High Risk Primal Psyker Ability Dimenison Empyrean has been increased by 9%.]

[Proficiency with the Super-High Risk Primal Psyker Ability Dimenison Empyrean has been increased by 14%.]

[Proficiency with the Super-High Risk Primal Psyker Ability Dimenison Empyrean has been increased by 20%.]

[Proficiency with the Super-High Risk Primal Psyker Ability Dimenison Empyrean has been increased by 29%.]

In mere moments, his Proficiency with the Dimension Empyrean has reached Level 3 Apprentice, and it was constantly climbing as he was getting more and more notifications from the system about the continuous growth in the Proficiency of the Dimension Empyrean.

'I can still feel the connection between me and the Empyrean Power within the Nest... and I can even control it... by this tempo, the Empyrean Power would consume the entire Arachnid Nest in a few days.'

Even though the timespan of a few days seemed like a very long time, in fact, it was an extremely short time, considering how humongous the structure of the Arachnid Nest was and how difficult it was even for the Empyrean Power to spread across the Arachnid Nest.

Arcturus knew what was happening to the Arachnid Nest and he could say that the bugs were really pretty unlucky.

One of the most fundamental aspects of the Emyprean Power was its capability to latch itself on anything with the Psionic Energy, devour the said Psionic Energy, and spread further.

If the quality of the Psionic Energy that the Empyrean Power is devouring is superb, then the Empyrean Power could replicate itself and become bigger and bigger. The Biomatter material from which the bugs made their structures was brimming with the densest and most potent Psionic Energy possible.

There was no better place for his Empyrean Power to thrive than in the Arachnid Nest, most ironically.

[Proficiency with the Super-High Risk Primal Psyker Ability Dimenison Empyrean has been increased by 25%.]

[Proficiency with the Super-High Risk Primal Psyker Ability Dimenison Empyrean has been increased by 34%.]

[Proficiency with the Super-High Risk Primal Psyker Ability Dimenison Empyrean has reached Level 7 Apprentice 0%.]

In just several tens of minutes, during which he still retained col over the Empyrean Power in the Arachnid Nest and tried to control it to behave in a certain direction, he managed to increase his Proficiency with the Dimension Empyrean by a few whole Levels.

Soon enough, the bigger and more powerful the Empyrean Power within the Arachnid Nest got. Soon enough, he lost even the remnants of the control that he still maintained of the Empyrean Power, and it started spreading even faster through the Arachnid Nest.

Arcturus knew that there were not actually many things that the bugs could do to stop the spread of the Empyrean Power through their Arachnid Nest aside from basically destroying the parts of the entire Nest entirely, so the Empyrean Power wouldn't have anywhere to transmit to.

After some time, it would run out of fuel and just dissipate, though even that could take hours, considering the current strength of the Empyrean Power. Noticing this, Arcturus knew that they would need to make a move right now because the Empyrean Power was dangerous not only to the bugs but also to the Zehal and Jeniael.

Especially if it was left unchecked.

The Arachnid Nest was the ideal place for the Empyrean Power to grow more and more powerful with each passing second, and if left as it is, then it would devour and obliterate everything within the Nest, including the Brain Bug and the Pseudo Queen Bug to the ashes.

However, in the case of the Empyrean Power, not even the ashes would remain after them once the Empyrean Power was finished with them.

'Zehal, immediately come here... we need to enter the Arachnid Nest as soon as possible. The Empyrean Power from the Dimension Empyrean latched into the Biomatter of the Arachnid Nest and is spreading across the Nest... and it's happening faster than I calculated. So we need to act right now.'

Arcturus sent a message to Zehal because, due to the unforeseen situation with the Empyrean Power, they needed to act as soon as possible.

Just as they were preparing to move and enter the Arachnid Nest together with Jenaiel, who had already drawn out her sword and prepared for the combat, everyone within the Frostearth Valley could sense the earth-shaking and deafening roars of the beast.

Arcturus's eyes narrowed as he looked in the opposite direction of the Arachnidt Nest, and he saw the reason for it.

The Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears are here...

And it seemed that they had brought reinforcements.

Somewhere in the different area of the Frostearth Valley

The Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears were regarded as the fearest and most powerful native beasts that lived on the Ziras IV since the colony was created. At the same time, these beasts were also known for their wisdom and intelligence, as they were known for their immense strength.

On average, they were around 15 meters tall long when they were on their fours, though their most notable striking feature is the singular curved silver horn that spirals from the center of its forehead, gleaming under any light as if it were made of liquid moonlight.

The Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears had very thick fur, that shimmered between deep obsidian and starlit silver, appearing almost ethereal when it moves through the dense, misty forests it calls home. Its fur was capable of withstanding a tremendous degree of punishment, which gave the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears really fearsome defensive capabilities.

Covering their muscular bodies were glowing tattoos, intricate patterns that pulsed with a soft, bioluminescent light. These tattoos shifted and changed depending on the bear's mood: faint and subdued when calm, blazing with brilliance when enraged.

The markings were said to be ancient sigils of protection, granting the beast immunity to dark magic and allowing it to communicate with spirits of the forest. Among the colonists it was often told legends that spoke of a Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear appearing only to those in dire need, guiding lost travelers with its luminous patterns, or offering cryptic visions of the future.

Their furs were also considered a rare material, that were often woven into the clothing or armor on the Ziras IV, because of their flexibility and durability, that were created rather perfect materials to craft very strong pieces of armors.

Not to mention, their Silver Horns were one of the rarest and most precious ingredients into various Elixirs and Serums, yet it was also very problematic to harvest them.

When one killed the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear and wanted to cut their Silver Horn, it was known that the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears were storing their Psionic Energy in their horns, so when somebody attempted to remove the horns of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears, the Psionic Energy gathered in the Silver Horn would lash out and send some sort of Curse at the person who was cutting down the Silver Horn of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear.

At the same time, due to these properties, the Silver Horns of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears were used in my occult and mystical rituals and thus, their price was exorbitantly high across the markets of the Eternal Empire of the Asurya and some of the rarer pieces were sold to the other High-Level Star Nations and High-Level Civilizations where the prices were even much higher.

This colony of Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears has lived in the Frostearth Valley for as long as it can remember. However, the past years have been difficult, as the Bears have had to constantly fight against the Arachnids that have created their Nests in the deepest parts of the Valley.

The colony of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears was relatively big as it provided a home for several hundreds of Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears and there were some that reached relatively higher Grades were very powerful.

The Arachnid Nest was a headache for the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear Colony.

While the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears could often defeat the bugs on the battlefield due to their advantages in terrain, they Nest not capable of breaching the Arachnid Nest's defenses.

The clashes between the local fauna and the bugs were very frequent, to the point where the various species of the danger beasts united together as one in their attacks against the bugs for better results, which, in fact, was often working pretty well.

The defenses of the Arachnid Nest, coupled with the number of bugs that were within the Nest itself, made any possible action against the bugs really problematic and hard, but the various beasts still managed to drive the bugs into the deepest corners of the Frostearth Valley.

In the latest clash between the native danger beasts and bugs, it marked a tremendous victory for the various tribes of the native beasts, who managed to cripple the forces of the Arachnids when they managed to kill large swaths of the bugs in one go.

This was the mark of the great victory because from there on, the bugs seriously lacked the power to attack them again and expand their territory, but it was only a matter of time until the bugs recovered their losses and rebuilt their army.

Suddenly, the entire colony of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears froze in the spot, as they could also sense the Psionic Energy fluctuations in the air that were being transmitted from one Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear to another.

All of them transmitted the same image after another: the image of the Arachnid Nest under siege and the fact that someone had destroyed most of their remaining numbers, including the Titan Bug.

As these images were being spread among the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears, suddenly, the largest and strongest of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears, who was the Alpha of the colony, let out a deafening roar.

It wasn't just an ordinary roar but a call to the war.

Once all of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears heard the roar of the Alpha Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear, they started marching in the singular direction in batches of tens. All the ones that were marching were the Warriors of the colony, meaning that they were the strongest of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear present.

All of them were marching under the leadership of their Alpha towards the location of the Arachnid Nest that was now under the attack. Many of the danger beasts were actually not less intelligent than any other sentient race, even though they couldn't really talk as many other civilized species could.

Yet that didn't make them much less intelligent, as with the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear, who was now communicating with the combination roars and Psionic Energy Singls through its horns.

A few more agile bears bolted from the colony to different directions as they were sent by the Alpha of the colony to notify about this development of other major danger beast tribes that were living in the Frostearth Valley as this was the time to take back their home from the disgusting bugs and crush them once for all.

Frostearth Valley, Arachnid Nest

When the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears arrived at the area where the Arachnids were being butchered, it sounded all remaining alarms in the head of the Brain Bug because the situation had officially evolved from terrible to an existential crisis.

It was clear that the appearance of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear and a whole bunch of the other types of danger beasts was something that not even the bugs had anticipated, and the Brain Bug knew that this was the work of the people who were attacking the Arachnid Nest before.

First, some of the Asuryani attacked the Nest with their technological gadgets, which reduced their numbers a bit. Then, one of them used some really weird and terrifying Psyker Ability to one-shot the Titan Bug.

The worst thing was that the aftermath of it had spread to the rest of the Arachnid Nest and was not spreading through the uppermost levels of their Arachnid Nest. Whatever that weird Abiltiy was, it was feeding on the Psionic Energy; the stronger and denser the Psionic Energy, the stronger that crimson-black energy got and the faster it spread.

And once, when the Brain Bug thought that the situation couldn't get worse, suddenly a horde of a few hundred dangerous beasts led by a huge pack of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears rushed into the territory of the bugs and started slaughtering the Arachnids left and right.
