SSS Ranked Reincarnation: Dark Dragon Legacy

Chapter 310: Getting an Inn

The carriage pulled deeper into the town. Kalif led them to the nearest inn so they could spend the night.

Humans had two main recognized currencies: the empire coins and the holy coins. The holy coins held more monetary value than the empire coins, but the empire coins were used more.

And when Silva took over their kingdom, there was a lot of both in the treasury, so he had enough to live rich here if he wanted.

The inn was a two-story building. It wasn't very large, but it looked like it had enough rooms, so they decided it was best for them to rest the night here.

"Sorry, Terron. My sister and I are really grateful for your help today. We would have died if it was not for you, and we owe you for that.

Hopefully, we will get to see you before you continue your journey from our town," Kalif said.

"It's highly unlikely that we will see you tomorrow. We will head to the adventurers' guild to fix some documents, and then we will have to leave your town and head for your capital.

Thank you for helping us, and please remember that you can't tell anyone the details of how we saved you. I wasn't joking when I said I would cut your throat," he said and then threw a pouch of coins at Kalif, but Kalif was not ready, and the pouch hit him in the face and fell to the ground.

"Ouch, that hurt," Kalif said and moved to pick the pouch from the ground.

"Sigh, I can't believe you went out to even get a devil rabbit," Silva said.

Kalif looked up with an embarrassed expression. "Thank you for this," he said and slightly bowed. Ranin did the same, and they both started walking away, heading deeper into the town.

Kalif walked over a hundred meters away before he opened up the pouch, and what he saw shocked him. He had felt the size of the pouch and thought it was filled with so many coins, so he assumed they were all copper imperial coins at best.

No one would just randomly hand a pouch of silver or gold coins to someone they had just met, but he was greatly off, and not by a small margin—he was off by a lot.

Inside the pouch that Silva had given him were gold imperial coins, shining with their beautiful luster. He quickly put his hand inside and picked up a coin, looking at it closely.

On one side, the majestic emblem of the empire was engraved—a sword with wings—while on the other side was the face of a man, seemingly one of the emperors who ruled before.

There was no way this could be fake. It wasn't possible, and this gave Kalif joy to no end. He looked at his sister, and he could see a bright smile on her face as well; she couldn't hide her happiness.

Kalif returned the coin into his pouch and strapped it back to his waist. He and his sister walked into the night, but it seemed someone had seen them. A shadow crept after they left, eyes gleaming with evil as he watched them go.

"Uhm, Aaron, they have a barn behind the inn. Take the carriage there and come meet us," Silva said and walked in with the others.

The lower side of the inn was a bar and restaurant, though it seemed to mostly be used as a bar.

Silva pushed the door open. The thick smell of beer and all sorts of booze filled his nose, with the loud voices of drunk men filling his ears. Discover stories at My Virtual Library Empire

The bar had sets of round tables to the left and right, while a path was left through the center for people to walk.

It also allowed everyone in the bar to see who was coming in, so when Silva and the girls stepped in, all attention turned to them.

A handsome young man with six beautiful ladies—that was sure to drag attention. Some people were outright jealous, while some wondered who these people were.

Silva didn't pay attention to any of them, though. He walked straight to the counter. The bartender was a lady who looked like she was in her mid-twenties, with blonde hair and eyes, and a face covered in freckles.

She had a simple black shirt and leather pants on, with a stained apron around her waist.

"We'd like to get some rooms if it's possible," Silva said.

"We do have some rooms available, but looking at your number, you'll have to lodge two people per room, and one person will get a room all to himself," she said, the "himself" hinting at Silva. She didn't know his relationship with the ladies, but as common knowledge, she didn't want him to be in the same room as any of the girls.

Or at least, she thought that was common knowledge, but it was just stupid, seeing as all of them were already adults.

"I want to be in the same room with Terron," Dawn stepped up and spoke, and immediately after she said that, Silva knew she had just started an argument—because that was exactly what followed.

The girls started arguing over who would get the opportunity to be in the same room as Silva, all of them pulling at him while Silva watched, not knowing what to do.

The bartender also watched, and she was confused. She tried to do them a favor, yet all of them seemed to want exactly what she was trying to prevent.

At this point, all the men in the bar were now looking at this scene, and they all officially hated Silva because his life was too unfair to them.

To have so many ladies arguing over getting a chance to stay with him—that was heaven. They all gave him death stares, like they would kill him in the next instant.

Luckily for Silva, Aaron finally walked in, and so the number was complete, and Silva could talk. "I'll be spending the night in the same room as Aaron."
