Chapter 7: The Young Violinist’s Debut

Three years had passed. Cale, now six years old, was ready for his society debut. Over the years, he had diligently studied the violin and noble etiquette, refining his skills under Poro Amduscias' strict guidance. But despite his rigorous training, he never forgot to find joy in life, spending time playing pranks on Ameri and bonding with Kira.

Ameri, on the other hand, was steadily proving herself as an elite demon guardian, training alongside her father and displaying remarkable discipline and dedication.

The Night of the Grand Performance

That night, Cale felt visibly nervous. He had spent years preparing for this moment, and the piece he had chosen was no simple melody—"Merry-Go-Round of Life."

Standing in front of his mirror, he adjusted his suit with trembling hands, taking a deep breath. His gaze flickered toward Kira, who was also dressed in a custom-made suit.

"At least Kira looks perfect," he thought. "Nothing can go wrong with him by my side."

Words of Encouragement

Cale made his way toward the grand hall, where Ameri was waiting for him.

—Ready? —she asked, leaning toward him with a confident smirk.

—Not sure, sis —Cale admitted with a nervous chuckle—. I'm kind of... you know, scared.

Ameri gently nudged his shoulder, giving him a reassuring grin.

—Hey, don't stress too much. You're going to do great. Kira and I will be right there the whole time. Nothing to be afraid of.

Cale smiled, feeling a little more at ease.

—Thanks, sis. Now I just have to wait for the guests to arrive… I'll be getting ready backstage.

Leaving Kira with Ameri, Cale walked behind the stage curtains. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath, steadying himself.

Slowly, the grand hall began to fill with guests.

A Gathering of Power

Among the distinguished guests, Cale recognized several prominent figures:

Asmodeus Amaryllis and his son Alice Belzebuth, Behemoth, Amaymon Poro Amduscias, despite no longer being a member of the Thirteen Crowns, had chosen to attend

Then, the three greatest demons made their entrance:

Lord Sullivan, Lord Belial, and Lady Levy

Henri and Ameri welcomed them respectfully, exchanging formal pleasantries.

Cale, hidden behind the stage, caught sight of Poro watching him. The demon had an amused smirk, as if enjoying the moment. Despite his usual harsh demeanor, Poro had closely monitored Cale's progress over the years. He would never admit it aloud, but he was proud of his student.

The Curtains Rise

Henri took center stage, microphone in hand, his voice commanding attention.

—Dear friends, thank you for joining us tonight. As you may have noticed, my son Cale has not been present to greet you. That is because he has prepared a special performance just for this occasion. Please, gather around and enjoy the show.

With a grand motion, the curtains parted, revealing Cale standing on stage, violin in hand. A hired pianist sat behind him, ready to accompany the performance.

Cale exhaled deeply, masking his nervousness with a calm smile. Then, he began to play.

Music That Touched the Soul

The first soft notes of "Merry-Go-Round of Life" drifted into the air. The melody started gentle and whimsical, then grew richer and more emotional as he played.

The audience was entranced:

Some imagined themselves dancing with a loved one Others closed their eyes, swaying to the music Many nodded in quiet admiration, completely absorbed

No matter their background, Cale's music reached them all.

When the final note faded into silence, the hall remained still for a moment—

Then, a wave of applause erupted.

Cale bowed gracefully, his heart pounding with pride and relief. Kira rushed toward him, jumping into his arms and nuzzling against his cheek with a happy yelp.

Ameri approached next, wrapping him in a tight hug, while Henri placed a firm, proud hand on his head.

—Well done, son.

Cale chuckled, stroking Kira's fur.

—Thanks, Dad. Looks like Kira enjoyed my performance too.

Kira wagged his tail enthusiastically, letting out another cheerful howl.

A Noble Exchange

After the performance, Henri led Cale toward a group of VIP guests.

Standing before them were:

Lady Levy, Lord Belial, and Lord Sullivan, along with their grandchildren.

Cale greeted them first, offering a polite bow to Lady Levy.

—Thank you for coming, Lady Levy. It's an honor to finally meet you.

Lady Levy returned his smile, nodding in approval.

—Very well-mannered, young Cale. A pleasure to meet you as well. Let me introduce you to my grandson.

A young demon stepped forward, a haughty look in his eyes. Before Cale could extend a hand—

Leji, Lady Levy's grandson, scowled at him.

—Don't touch me. —His tone was cold, condescending—. And who brings animals to a noble gathering? Do you think this is a joke? You're indisciplined and unworthy of my attention.

Cale's patience snapped.

His fury was immediate, not because of Leji's arrogance, but because of his insult toward Kira.

His voice dropped to a calm but sharp tone.

—Don't tell me what I can or cannot do. Kira is my contracted spirit and part of my family. By your logic, are you calling my family trash?

Leji's smug expression faltered.

Cale smirked.

—If that's the case, I wonder why you came here at all. After all, by insulting Lord Belial, Lord Sullivan, and your own grandmother, it seems you're the most undisciplined person here.

Silence filled the room.

Before Cale could say more, Henri placed a firm hand on his shoulder.

—That's enough, Cale.

Lord Belial and Lord Sullivan exchanged glances, trying to ease the tension. Lady Levy, meanwhile, gave her grandson a sharp, disappointed glare.

A New Friend Appears

Before things could escalate, another child stepped forward.

Berry Razberry, Lord Belial's grandson, grinned at Cale.

—That was the best comeback I've ever heard! —Berry laughed—. Hey, how long have you been playing the violin? Is it true that Poro trained you? What exactly is a contracted spirit? Where can I get one?!

Cale chuckled, answering question after question, until Lord Belial intervened with an exasperated smile.

—Berry, give the boy a moment to breathe.

An Invitation from Lord Sullivan

Finally, Cale turned toward Lord Sullivan, who had been watching everything with a warm, knowing smile.

—Thank you for coming, Lord Sullivan. It's an honor to have you here tonight.

Sullivan, with his usual affectionate expression, patted Cale's head.

—You did wonderfully, young one.

Kira, delighted, let out a happy howl, earning a chuckle from both Sullivan and Cale.

Before leaving, Lord Sullivan extended an invitation—

—You should visit my mansion for tea sometime. I'd love to chat with you more.

Cale eagerly accepted, feeling truly acknowledged by one of the strongest demons in the Netherworld.

A Night to Remember

With a content smile, Cale rejoined his father, ready to continue greeting guests.

And for the first time in his life—

He truly felt like he belonged.
