Soul Land:The Dragon King's God of Nature

Chapter 134: Chapter 134: The Hypothesis of the Child of Destiny!

Jing Shaoyu and Leng Yaozhu left the Fire God Desert and returned to Yanshan City. After resting for a night, they set off for the Spirit Pagoda headquarters.

On the road, Jing Shaoyu calculated how much time he had left in his vacation. To his surprise, he discovered he still had seven free days remaining—a pleasant bonus.

"Shaoyu," Leng Yaozhu suddenly called out while driving.

Jing Shaoyu turned to look at her. He noticed hesitation, contemplation, and a trace of curiosity on her face, leaving him momentarily stunned. "What's the matter, Teacher?"

"Why do the Divine Unicorn and the Nightmare Demon Eye Beast refer to you as the Child of Nature?" Leng Yaozhu asked.

"Well, I'm not entirely sure, but I think it might have something to do with my martial spirits," Jing Shaoyu answered straightforwardly, not surprised by her question. He shared his honest thoughts without reservation.

"Yes, I suspect the same," Leng Yaozhu nodded thoughtfully. "Your two martial spirits are both incredibly rare and powerful. In terms of potential and capability, I doubt there's been another like you in the history of soul masters.

"But this title, Child of Nature, reminds me of another term."

"What term?" Jing Shaoyu asked reflexively.

"The Child of Destiny," Leng Yaozhu said, turning to him with bright, penetrating eyes.

"Child of Destiny?!" Jing Shaoyu was startled. "Teacher, is there really such a concept?"

"Of course!" Leng Yaozhu's gaze softened slightly but remained intense. "At first, I didn't believe in such things either. But after reaching the Half-God Realm, I came to understand that destiny, or what we call fate, truly exists.

"It's an intangible, elusive force—impossible to grasp or manipulate. But with my level of cultivation, I can faintly perceive its threads.

"Our Spirit Pagoda's ancient records contain references to the Child of Destiny. These writings claim that every ten thousand years, a Child of Destiny is born, bearing immense fortune. Such individuals profoundly impact the continent and reshape its future.

"Ten thousand years ago, the founder of the spirit soul system and the Spirit Pagoda, Lingbing Douluo Huo Yuhao, was recognized as a Child of Destiny. This fact is widely acknowledged among Half-God powerhouses."

"Incredible!" Jing Shaoyu exclaimed, his face alight with amazement.

"It's something of a secret," Leng Yaozhu continued with a trace of excitement in her voice. "But seeing the Divine Unicorn and Nightmare Demon Eye Beast both submit to you, I can't help but speculate that their so-called Child of Nature is what we define as the Child of Destiny.

"Ten thousand years ago, Lingbing Douluo Huo Yuhao received sacrifices from hundred-thousand-year soul beasts and even the Ice Jade Emperor Scorpion. Such miraculous encounters are hallmarks of a Child of Destiny. As for you, Shaoyu, while I wouldn't say you've surpassed Huo Yuhao, you're certainly on par. A fierce beast willingly transforming into a spirit soul for you—if that's not the mark of a Child of Destiny, I don't know what is."

"Heh," Jing Shaoyu chuckled softly but remained silent. What could he say?

"Hahaha!" Leng Yaozhu's joy was unrestrained as she burst into laughter, her voice clear and melodious like wind chimes. "To think that one day, I'd become the teacher of a Child of Destiny. My student, a Child of Destiny—what an honor!"

Listening to Leng Yaozhu's delighted laughter, Jing Shaoyu couldn't help but smile as well.

It took a while for Leng Yaozhu to calm down. Her expression grew serious as she said, "Shaoyu, you mustn't reveal what's happened over these past few days to anyone. Your identity as the Child of Nature—or Child of Destiny—won't attract attention until you grow stronger. For now, just maintain a low profile."

"Understood, Teacher," Jing Shaoyu nodded. "Honestly, if you hadn't mentioned the Child of Destiny, I wouldn't even have known it was a real concept."

Feigning ignorance? That was second nature to him.

"Good. As long as you understand," Leng Yaozhu said with satisfaction. Then, unable to resist, she added with a grin, "Haha, my disciple is a Child of Destiny!"

That evening, Leng Yaozhu and Jing Shaoyu returned to the Spirit Pagoda headquarters.

"Shaoyu, do you want to take a stroll around Shrek City?" Leng Yaozhu asked as they exited the elevator on the 101st floor.

"No need," Jing Shaoyu replied. "By the end of next month, we'll be heading to Shrek Academy anyway. I'll have plenty of time to explore Shrek City then."

"True," Leng Yaozhu agreed, her smile softening. "Then tomorrow, we'll return to Eastsea City. We've been away for twenty days; I'm sure Yue'er must miss us by now."

At the mention of Gu Yue, an image of the aloof and serene girl appeared in Jing Shaoyu's mind. A faint smile crossed his face. "Even if she misses us, she'll probably deny it outright."

"Haha!" Leng Yaozhu laughed, covering her mouth. "That does sound like something Yue'er would do. By the way, Shaoyu, do you know much about your homeroom teacher, Wu Zhangkong?"

"I know a little," Jing Shaoyu said. He noticed the playful glint in Leng Yaozhu's eyes and sensed she was about to share some gossip. "Teacher, do you know something about him?"

"Of course," Leng Yaozhu said with a mischievous smile. "Wu Zhangkong was once a promising student at Shrek Academy, and our Spirit Pagoda kept a close eye on him. After joining the inner court, he became a disciple of the Red Dragon Douluo, one of the academy's 'Twin Holy Dragons.' Unfortunately, he left Shrek Academy after his fiancée, Long Bing, was expelled for violating the rules. Now he's teaching in Eastsea City. Life is truly unpredictable."

"So, Wu Zhangkong is quite the romantic," Jing Shaoyu remarked. He was already aware of Wu Zhangkong's deep affection for Long Bing but felt compelled to comment for the sake of the conversation.

Leng Yaozhu's mention of Long Bing reminded him of her tragic past—being the daughter of an evil soul master and ultimately killed by her father. The story struck a chord, reminding him of the ill-fated love between Mu En and Ye Xishui.

"Indeed," Leng Yaozhu agreed. Then, as if struck by a sudden thought, she asked, "By the way, Shaoyu, between Yue'er and Xu Xiaoyan, who are you planning to choose?"

"Uh?" Jing Shaoyu froze, caught off guard by the abrupt question. Scratching his head, he replied sheepishly, "Teacher, can't I have both?"

"You rascal!" Leng Yaozhu exclaimed, her eyes widening in mock anger. She gave him a playful but firm knock on the head. "You're so greedy!"

With a huff, Leng Yaozhu turned and walked away.

Watching her retreating figure, Jing Shaoyu let out a wry smile. Ouch, that hurt! Teacher doesn't hold back, does she?

Later that evening, after dining in the Spirit Pagoda cafeteria, Jing Shaoyu headed back to the 101st floor. To his surprise, he encountered someone unexpected in the elevator lobby.

Qiangu Zhangting.

"You're… Aunt Leng's disciple?!" Qiangu Zhangting stared at the strikingly handsome boy with refined elegance. Recognition flickered in his eyes, followed by surprise as he addressed Jing Shaoyu.

"Hello," Jing Shaoyu greeted politely.

He hadn't anticipated meeting Qiangu Zhangting here. On second thought, it wasn't that surprising—Qiangu Zhangting was a Spirit Pagoda Transcendent Spirit Envoy, after all.

"Hello, I'm Qiangu Zhangting. You might not remember me, but that's fine. Just remember me now. You can call me Senior Qiangu," Qiangu Zhangting said with a smile.

"I'm Jing Shaoyu," Jing Shaoyu replied with a polite smile, silently disregarding the "senior" suggestion. Qiangu Zhangting's self-confidence was admirable, but could he handle the implications if Jing Shaoyu actually called him that?

"Shaoyu, since you're here, I assume Aunt Leng is back as well. I've been wondering why I haven't seen her these past few days," Qiangu Zhangting mused aloud.

Jing Shaoyu remained silent, observing him thoughtfully. Qiangu Zhangting had already reached the Soul Douluo level. At twenty-two or twenty-three years old, his confidence was well-earned.

However, despite his talent, Qiangu Zhangting lacked the protagonist's fortun

e and was destined to be a tragic supporting character.
