Sorcerer: I want to be an Academic Prodigy

Chapter 300: Stirring Up Waves

Ulysses was no fool. He understood that to trample Ivan beneath his feet, he had to use legitimate means, that is, Enchantment. Otherwise, not only would he fail to enhance his reputation, but he would also attract trouble to himself.

Just like dealing with others in the guild.

He had enough patience to wait for the day when an opportunity would arise.

Moreover, for sorcerers, the concept of time was different from that of ordinary people.

"Boom Boom Boom!"

Three months later, one day, a loud noise shattered the peace within the borders of Neighborhood No. 107, capturing the attention of enchanters immediately, each looking toward the source of the noise.

It was chaos initiated by the School of Space again!

From the direction, it was not hard to discern that the disturbance originated from the territory of the School of Space. Thinking about the past experiences of this school, many couldn't help but sweat for them.

"Let's go! Let's check it out."

"Together, hopefully, it hasn't caused an unmanageable situation."

Whether out of concern or curiosity, the enchanters quickly made their way to the vicinity of the incident, and what they saw next left them dumbfounded.

Accompanied by another loud boom, a three-story tower was cleaved in half from the middle.

Immediately after, as if it had been cut haphazardly by countless blades, the once solid tower fractured into pieces that continued to spread to the lower levels of the tower, causing it to disappear.

"This is—spatial turbulence!" someone blurted out the root cause.

Hearing this, others nodded in agreement.

Only the cutting from the Power of Space could cause the mighty tower to crumble like pastry, destroyed in the blink of an eye.

"Whose tower is this?"

"Sorcerer Barney, the one who won the championship at the appraisal contest with the Flashing Token."

"That's him, huh? I heard he was still perfecting the Flashing Token and had invited three assistants. If they were all inside, this incident could be a huge loss for the School of Space."

As these words were spoken, everybody else fell silent for a while.

Indeed, no one had been seen escaping from the tower before it completely collapsed, forcing everyone to consider the worst.

"The turbulence is about to burst forth completely. Everyone, step back."

Suddenly, a commanding shout came from the sky, clearly spreading in all directions.

True to the command, the next second, the spatial turbulence exploded, transforming into invisible blades that splashed aimlessly around. Experience new tales on My Virtual Library Empire

Danger!

The sudden crisis caused nearby enchanters to shudder.

At that moment, a five-story tower that dominated the entire area burst forth with even more brilliant light, adding an extra dense field that enveloped the area of the spatial turbulence outbreak, neutralizing most of the invisible blades.

But there were still some that got through, leaving behind broken trees, cracked ground, marked towers, and even severe damage.

After a wave of devastation, the spatial turbulence also disappeared.

"Sorcerer Ivan, are you all right?" Mendenez hurried to the Rapid Wood Tower, riding a flying beast straight to the third story in the sky, anxiously looking inside.

"It's fine, just a wall destroyed, no big deal." Ivan stood in front of the freshly collapsed gap, expressionless, but with a cold sweat breaking out on his back.

Rapid Wood Tower was rather unfortunate, having been struck by a larger spatial blade. What Ivan hadn't expected was that the spatial blade had skipped the tower's defensive array and struck the body of the tower directly.

Fortunately, it was just the aftermath; the only damage was to one of the walls.

"Good, good." Seeing that he was truly unharmed, Mendenez fully relaxed.

"How is Sorcerer Barny? Have you noticed their condition?"

"I don't know, no bad news has come out yet."

After a few exchanges, Mendenez left on a flying beast to check other areas.

Ivan turned to organize his tower, the room that was hit housed the element particles pool, and to say it was unaffected would be self-deception.

What he didn't know was that someone had been watching his situation closely.

"So that's how it is, the void rat is in his hands."

Before Mendenez arrived, Ulysses had noticed an action: someone put something away, and he saw it clearly—it was a treasure of the School of Space.

Thinking of his repeatedly unsuccessful applications, a glint of resentment flashed in his eyes.

"And that Barny, relying on the Vice President's favor, is so ignorant of propriety, truly acting recklessly as a guild elder, it would be neat if he died."

Ulysses didn't have long to feel pleased before he saw a familiar figure coming into view.

"Sorry, sorry, my colleagues, it was all my mistake, I will take full responsibility for the losses caused," said Barny, who appeared disheveled, constantly apologizing to the people around him.

All four had survived, having escaped first through the use of the Flashing Token when the crisis erupted.

Unfortunately, one of them had lost an arm, whether it was severed by a spatial turbulence or the Flashing Token, the person looked pale and sullen.

Subsequently, Vice President Angus intervened, and the situation was calmed.

Just now, it was him in the five-story tower who had prevented a major outbreak of spatial turbulence, avoiding even worse consequences.

...

At Rapid Wood Tower, Ivan's emotions had not fully stabilized yet.

"Even Sorcerer Barny can't guarantee there won't be any snags, the uncertainty of the space-type is too great, it seems Sorcerer Barny also lacks sufficient control over the spatial threads," he lamented while looking at the energy particle pool in front of him.

To date, he had methodically studied space knowledge for five months, from the foundation to the elementary section of "Pure White Star," from the runes recorded in the "Book of Milor" to the bundle of runes, he felt he had it all clear in his mind.

Even the basic form of the spell "Spatial Cutting"—Spatial Blade, he had some insights and had tried to materialize it with some effort.

In terms of basic runes sorcery array, he could completely depict minor displacement arrays and space-type energy gathering arrays.

By this account, he just hadn't been able to see the spatial threads.

Initially, he was somewhat complacent.

After today's event, he realized how dangerous his earlier actions were, as a single slip could dismantle the high tower, or even endanger his own life.

"The space-type harbors too many unknown dangers, I can't keep researching step by step, I need to master the spatial threads all at once."

Realizing the flaws in his original plan, and likely to follow in Barny's footsteps, after much thought, he decided to adjust his earlier plan, aiming to master the spatial threads in the shortest time possible.

Once he mastered the spatial threads, he would essentially hold the lifeline of space, greatly increasing his insight into space and avoiding most dangers.

At this moment, a message arrived, interrupting his thoughts.

Vice President Angus had summoned all the elders to a meeting at the five-story sorcerer tower, probably to discuss the recent event.

Ivan didn't dare delay, hastily making his way to the council hall on the fifth floor of the sorcerer tower.

This time fifteen elders participated, three more than the last time, he noticed one person looking at him with a malicious gaze, hardly concealed—who else could it be but Ulysses Lenna?
