Chapter 538: THE END!
[One Month Later.]
The soft glow of the villa theater illuminated the faces of its occupants: Michael, Erika, Mira, Tyson, Jennifer, Maria, Niki, Norman, Deck, Ralph, Levi, and Ricky. They were a tableau of quiet contentment, their gazes fixed on the screen where Tom and Jerry's timeless antics unfolded.
Erika leaned into Michael, her head finding a comfortable resting place on his shoulder. A sigh escaped her lips. "I can't believe it's all over," she murmured, a hint of lingering disbelief in her voice.
Michael gently stroked her hair. "Yes... We lost good people on the way, but they will be happy knowing the world is now at peace." His words carried a weight of shared experience, a quiet acknowledgment of the sacrifices made.
Erika nodded and tightened her embrace around his waist, seeking solace and reassurance in his presence.
A tender smile touched Michael's lips as he wrapped his arm more securely around her, their shared gaze drifting back to the animated chaos on the screen. Behind them, a wave of warm smiles rippled through the group, a silent testament to the bond they had forged.
Mira and Maria exchanged a knowing glance, a silent conversation passing between them. With a shared nod, Mira turned towards Michael, a hint of nervousness fluttering in her expression.
"Big Brother, I want to introduce you to someone."
Michael raised a questioning eyebrow, a playful smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.
"Carl?"
Mira's eyes widened in genuine surprise.
"Uh? How did you know?"
"I have been observing you two," Michael chuckled softly. "He is a good boy, as long as he doesn't make you sad... I will agree to your relationship. You are now eighteen, so it's acceptable." He glanced back at her, his gaze softening with brotherly affection.
"Thank you, Big brother!" Mira exclaimed, a wave of relief washing over her. "I'll let him know right away."
"But," Michael interjected, his tone firm yet gentle, "he'll still have to meet me in person."
"That won't a problem at all," Mira replied confidently, already reaching for her phone to send a message to Carl.
"Em... Big sister?" Maria's voice was slightly hesitant as she addressed Erika.
Erika, her attention still seemingly on the cartoon, turned her head slightly.
"I accept Maria... Adrian is a good guy, but do you really love him?" Her gaze held a touch of sisterly concern.
"Yes, we love each other very much," Maria affirmed, her voice filled with conviction. "He even wants to marry me!"
"Uh?"
A collective murmur of surprise rippled through the theater as all eyes turned to Maria.
"I accept the relationship, but not marriage," Erika said, her tone now more serious.
"You are still young... At least wait until you've finished high school."
Maria nodded understandingly. "I will, Sister."
"And both of you," Jennifer interjected, her gaze sweeping over the two younger girls.
"watch yourselves... I know they don't have such a mindset, but keep yourselves clean until you're married, understood?"
Mira and Maria nodded in unison. "Yes, Jennifer," Maria affirmed.
"Good... We will--" Jennifer began, but her words were abruptly cut short.
Erika suddenly clapped a hand over her mouth, her face paling as a wave of nausea washed over her. She scrambled to her feet and hurried towards the restroom located within the theater, her movements swift and urgent.
Michael and the rest of the group instantly rose, their faces etched with concern and surprise.
Michael's gaze found Jennifer's. "Jennifer."
"On it," she replied instantly, already moving towards the restroom door. She slipped inside and closed the door gently behind her.
"Are you okay, Erika?" Jennifer asked, her voice laced with worry as she found Erika leaning over the sink, rinsing her face with water.
Erika looked up at her reflection in the mirror, her brow furrowed. "I don't know, maybe I caught a cold."
"Is this the first time?" Jennifer asked, a slight frown creasing her forehead.
"No, I think the third time now," Erika revealed with a sigh, a hint of confusion in her voice.
Jennifer's eyebrow arched slightly. She moved closer to Erika and gently placed a hand on her stomach. As she subtly channeled her energy, a look of profound shock spread across her face.
"You are pregnant!"
"What?!" Erika gasped, her eyes widening in disbelief.
The restroom door swung open, and Michael stepped inside, his expression a mixture of concern and confusion as he took in the sight of the two stunned women.
"I will be outside," Jennifer said softly, a knowing smile playing on her lips as she turned and exited the restroom, leaving Michael and Erika alone.
Michael watched her go for a moment, then turned his full attention to Erika.
"What happened?" he asked, his voice gentle.
Erika turned to face him, a hesitant expression on her face. "Hmm... Love, what do you think about children?"
"Meaning?" Michael asked, his brow furrowed in confusion.
"Like having your own child," Erika elaborated, her gaze searching his.
"That will be wonderful!" Michael exclaimed, a broad smile instantly illuminating his face. He moved towards her, his eyes filled with warmth and anticipation.
"Tell me," he said, stopping just in front of her, "you want a child?"
"You. I am pregnant," Erika revealed in a low, almost whispered voice, her eyes locking with his.
Michael's smile widened, and he reached out, gently cupping her face in his hands before leaning down to press a tender kiss to her lips.
"I know..."
"You do?" Erika looked up at him, her surprise evident.
"Yes, I was waiting for you to tell me," Michael said softly, pulling her closer and inhaling the sweet scent of her hair. "Don't be so pale, I'll help you all the way, until the very end." He held her gaze, his eyes filled with unwavering support.
"I am not scared," Erika said, though her voice still held a tremor.
"You can't hide your emotions from me, and you can't lie." Michael said with a gentle smile.
"You? Fine... I am a little scared," Erika admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Don't worry, I am right here, and you have Jennifer, Mira, and Maria with you... Everyone is here to take care of you," Michael reassured her, his embrace tightening. Erika slowly nodded, finding comfort in his words and his presence.
Michael smiled and kissed her hair again. "Come on, let's go outside."
Erika nodded meekly, allowing him to lead her towards the door.
As the door opened, Erika and Michael froze in the doorway, met by the sight of the entire group staring at them with wide grins and knowing smirks.
"So I will be having a nephew or a niece soon!" Mira exclaimed, her face beaming with excitement.
"Can't wait to spoil him, or her," Maria added, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
The two girls swiftly moved forward, each taking one of Erika's arms and gently pulling her along.
"Be careful!" Michael called out, a hint of amusement in his voice.
"Don't worry, Micky, she isn't that weak," Jennifer chuckled, joining Mira and Maria as they guided Erika out of the theater.
"Where are you going?" Tyson asked, his brow furrowed in mild confusion.
"We need to get ready to welcome the baby!" Mira and Maria yelled in unison, their voices filled with joyous energy as they ushered Erika through the doorway and closed the door behind them.
"I hope they know there is still time before that?" Michael muttered, a wry smile playing on his lips. He was then taken aback as Tyson and the other guys sprang into action, a newfound urgency in their movements.
"Where are you all going?!" Michael asked, his confusion growing.
"Didn't you hear the girls?!! We need to get something for the baby!! We can't let your child love them more than us!!" Tyson declared with complete seriousness.
"Yes!"
The others echoed, their faces alight with competitive affection as they rushed out of the theater, their footsteps echoing down the hallway.
Michael watched them go, a small, genuine smile finally breaking through his amusement. He shook his head, a wave of warmth washing over him.
"Wow, Michael... This is what you fought for, what you sweat and bled for... A good and loving family, and a peaceful world,"
He murmured to himself, his gaze softening with a deep sense of contentment.
Michael sat back down in his seat, the echoes of laughter and excited chatter fading in the distance, a profound sense of peace settling over him.
"So this is the end?"
