"Take a seat!"

Jiang Xiaorou crossed one leg over the other and sat down casually, the lighter in her hand making a snapping sound as a cigarette was clamped between her slender fingers, which she then started to smoke nonchalantly.

"What do you want?" Jiang Yufei asked.

She wasn't a fool. From the moment she walked in, Jiang Xiaorou had been putting on an act. Though she clearly knew everything that had happened in the past, she hadn't breathed a word about it in front of their parents. And now, she had deliberately summoned her upstairs, probably with some conditions to propose.

"Why so nervous? We're just chatting! You think I'm going to eat you?" Jiang Xiaorou nonchalantly switched crossing her legs and took several whiffs from the cigarette. Not liking the taste, she snuffed it out in the ashtray.

"Does sitting as Young Mrs. Shen still feel comfortable?" Jiang Xiaorou walked over, arms crossed, staring coldly at Jiang Yufei.

Every word she said, every syllable, filled Jiang Yufei with fear as if Jiang Xiaorou was a vengeful spirit that had climbed out from hell to claim her life.

"Jiang Xiaorou, I'm warning you. It's been five years since those events; everyone involved back then has been dealt with by me. Mr. Shen and I are very much in love. Do you think, just by coming back, you can disrupt our relationship with just a few words? Don't delude yourself. I'd advise you to behave yourself. Maybe I could still arrange a position for you in Dad's company. Otherwise, you won't gain any benefits," Jiang Yufei threatened in return.

Upon reflection, she had panicked when she first saw Jiang Xiaorou returning. But now that she had calmed down, she realized that her panic might have been unnecessary.

All those servants, doctors, everyone from back then had been taken care of; the only ones who knew the secret were Jiang Yufei and Jiang Xiaorou.

Now, with just Jiang Xiaorou's word alone, it could not have any effect. Thinking this way, Jiang Yufei didn't feel as scared anymore, even straightening her back.

"Really taken care of? Then what about the man who got me pregnant? I've heard you haven't been able to control him!" Jiang Xiaorou said, smiling lightly.

Don't think she knew nothing after disappearing for five years.

During those five years, Jiang Xiaorou had been using her connections to look into the past events. Although the related personnel had been dealt with by Jiang Yufei, that man had not been taken care of. He was smart, afraid of being found by Jiang Yufei, so he changed his name.

"Do you know where he is?" Jiang Yufei's face grew difficult again.

"Why don't you take a guess?" How could Jiang Xiaorou possibly tell the truth?

"What do you want?"

"I want to see the kids tonight."

"You want to see the kids?" Jiang Yufei naturally didn't want to agree.

"You have no choice. Otherwise, I'll go downstairs and tell Dad that my disappearance back then had something to do with you. I don't know if Dad will start to suspect you. Plus, you've screwed up the company's affairs. Guess what Dad would think?" Jiang Xiaorou's threatening eyes were truly frightening, nothing like the naive and kind self she was before.

Jiang Yufei had no choice really. People might not necessarily believe Jiang Xiaorou, but it wasn't good for Jiang Yufei herself. She had to consider it carefully.

Jiang Xiaorou booked the entire restaurant, not wanting to be disturbed. In front of the floor-to-ceiling window, she watched the car stop outside the restaurant. Jiang Yufei got out of the car, accompanied by a little boy.

He looked very bright and even through the glass window, his big eyes were clear – he definitely took after Jiang Xiaorou.

Jiang Yufei was also holding a little girl in her arms. Equally adorable, yet she appeared listless, her little head drooping on Jiang Yufei's shoulder, her eyelids looking heavy.

Seeing these two adorable children, Jiang Xiaorou felt her heart sour. So, it turned out she had given birth to twins – a boy and a girl – it was truly blissful and the kids looked so cute.

Jiang Yufei entered with the children, and Jiang Xiaorou couldn't wait to approach them. She reached out with both hands, instinctively wanting to hug the little girl. But she didn't make contact; the little girl seemed shy, honestly leaning back into Jiang Yufei's embrace, her big eyes staring at Jiang Xiaorou with puzzlement as if doubting her and filled with sheer terror.

Such a gaze shattered Jiang Xiaorou's heart – this was her daughter, why was she afraid of her own mother?

"I am..." Jiang Xiaorou was thinking about how to introduce herself! She actually didn't know how to introduce herself to the child.

"Duoduo, this is your big auntie." Jiang Yufei was holding Duoduo in her arms, introducing her with a gentle voice.

It was only then that Jiang Xiaorou learned her precious daughter's name was Duoduo. Duoduo was so afraid of her that she wouldn't even talk; her little head kept shrinking into Jiang Yufei's embrace, which really stabbed Jiang Xiaorou's heart.

But she could understand; after all, she had never taken care of children. To the two little ones, she was just a stranger auntie, needing time to get acquainted.

"It's okay, Duoduo is afraid of strangers. We will gradually get to know each other over time. Remember, my name is Jiang Xiaorou, I am your —— big auntie (mom)." The smile on Jiang Xiaorou's face was very stiff.

Little Duoduo still ignored her, clinging to Mommy in her arms like a sticky dog, her chubby little hands wrapped around Jiang Yufei's neck. She was very dependent on Jiang Yufei.

"And what about you? Little handsome boy, what's your name?" Jiang Xiaorou bent down and looked at her son with a smile.

He was very handsome, his big eyes staring at Jiang Xiaorou as if contemplating something in his little head.

"My name is Xuanxuan. Big Auntie, are you Mommy's sister?" Xuanxuan asked.

Xuanxuan was indeed smart. At just five years old, he could understand such a complex relationship. But this title really stabbed Jiang Xiaorou's heart.

"Yes! We are a family! Xuanxuan, Duoduo, what do you want to eat? Your big auntie will treat you tonight! You two can eat as much as you want!" Jiang Xiaorou said with a beaming smile.

Xuanxuan did not respond directly but looked at Jiang Yufei, wanting to hear what she thought.

"It's okay, this is your big auntie," Jiang Yufei said.

"Um, thank you big auntie," Xuanxuan said politely.

Everyone sat down, the waiter brought over the menu, they ordered the most expensive dishes, most of them were children's favorites, the table was packed, and everything looked delicious.

Xuanxuan had a cheerful personality, a little man, and he started eating directly. However, little Duoduo seemed very shy, not speaking and clinging to Jiang Yufei the whole time. It was hard to tell if she was just afraid of strangers or specifically afraid of Jiang Xiaorou.

"Duoduo, aren't you eating? Look how happy your brother is eating," Jiang Xiaorou personally picked food for Duoduo's bowl.

Duoduo didn't even glance, seeing Jiang Xiaorou's chopsticks coming her way, she turned her head away. Her little expression was truly heartbreaking, Jiang Xiaorou could only retract her hand and sit there with an uneasy heart.

"What's wrong with Duoduo?" Jiang Xiaorou asked Jiang Yufei.

"Duoduo has always been like this, misbehaving at night, especially clingy to me, maybe she wants to sleep, acting temperamental!" Jiang Yufei said.

At that moment, her phone rang. Jiang Yufei went to pick up the call while holding her phone, planning to step out, but Duoduo refused to leave her side. So, Jiang Yufei had no choice but to hold Duoduo with one hand and the phone with the other as she went out to answer it.

Watching this scene, Jiang Xiaorou really didn't know where she went wrong.

After all, everything was Jiang Yufei's scheming against her, tricking away her children; and now Duoduo was treating Jiang Xiaorou like the bad person, not even giving her a glance. Jiang Xiaorou's heart ached terribly.

"Big Auntie, don't mind it, Duoduo has never been smiley or talkative since she was little, she doesn't even talk to me. She doesn't dislike you," Xuanxuan said looking at Jiang Xiaorou.

"Has it always been like this? So Duoduo has never been able to talk?" Jiang Xiaorou was surprised.

They were twins, yet Xuanxuan seemed quite cheerful, so why couldn't Duoduo speak, and why was she so afraid of strangers, only finding security with Jiang Yufei?

"Yeah, I've never seen Duoduo smile or heard her talk, but she understands everything we say," Xuanxuan said.

"Have you seen a doctor?" Jiang Xiaorou was worried.

She feared Duoduo might have a health issue, the reason she wouldn't smile or speak. If there was an illness it should be treated, otherwise, it could delay the child's life.
