I really want to write sad stuff right now, but the sad stuff is still quite a ways away so if you have advice for writing emotional scenes please do tell me.

Keter felt the last of the [Stone Saint] crumble under his palm. 'God it took a while to find my way here, without getting myself killed.' Keter quickly grabbed the Soul Shards and started returning to the Dark castle. 

'If it weren't for Elfie this would have taken so much longer.' Keter jumps into a building to dodge a fallen abomination.

'Tho.. to get her to teach me I've traded her all of my [Azure] series weapons.' Keter slightly frowns at the memory. Keter eyes shot to his left to see a Spire Messenger's nest. Keter quickly uses a miracle to lessen his presence. Keter jumps out the window and climbs to the roof. 

'I will come back to deal with that once I return.' Keter's gaze sweeps to the side as he reached the castle walls.

 A wide grin appears on Keter's face as he sees his class. 'Never did I think I would become a "Tyrant" so quickly. Well... I guess it was inevitable with all the humans I've killed.' Keter jumped down from the walls and began walking to the outer settlement. 

'Everyone has been thinking that Harus is the one making people "disappear", but no it was me. I only took up the job originally to see how many life fragments humans gave. And well... let's just say that humans are to me as to what shadow creatures are to Sunny.' Keter's steps didn't even make the water ripple as he walked on puddles made by the storm from the previous night.

'I've been the main one running phase one of our preparations, which was "cleaning up our forces" of all the corruption. Gunlang is in charge of phases two and three "Betterment" and "Expedition" respectively. Seishan is in charge of rule enforcement, which is only needed because we let Nephis execute Andel(The pathfinder of you don't remember), even though he had a trial about a month prior.'

'A lot of the Pathfinders and a few others have been disregarding some rules. Their fear of death overpowering their fear of Gunlang. They were fed up do to "Betterment" which made it easier to get into the Dark Castle but reduced the days to three, because you could trade in memories and food instead of soul shards. The training was mandatory for all who stayed in the Bright Castle and the training depended on your Aspect. They were very mad since they held far less power.'

'And "Expedition" is exactly that. The Bright Castle from now on is running far more official expeditions that anyone can join, they will even go beyond the Dark City. Mostly to get more [Traveler]'s sense you can't get them inside of the Dark City.'

'Tho the main reason they are so mad is because Nephis got no consequences for her actions. I remember when they first brought it up to Gunlang, asking him if he was afraid of her.' A sly smile appeared on Keter's face.

'Gunlang's response was "She's not the one I'm afraid of"'

Keter finally made it to the Outer Settlement. Keter then walked over to Effie's home, opening the door Keter was greeted to the sight of his new cohort. Effie was eating a mountain's worth of meat, Cassie was sitting in the corner, Kai was talking to Nephis, and Caster was looking over his runes by the looks of it. 'I'm glad Nephis took my recommendation to recruit Kai.'

"Hey guys I came to warn you, I'm going to be gone for quite a while." All of their gazes quickly landed on him(Laughs evilly). 

Caster was the first one to respond. "Are you joining one of the expeditions?"

"No, I'm leaving the Dark City."

This time it was Effie. "Why? Are you scared of Gunlang? And where are you going?"

"No, I'm not scared of Gunlang. I'm going west and it's only about a day's trip." Nephis's gaze bore into him, as Cassie froze. 

"Also I should be back by the time you go to fetch the crown" Nephis was confused but knowing he could be as stubborn as she was she decided not to try and convince him otherwise.

"Let me go with you." Keter was surprised, very surprised. 'Why has Caster trying to always be at my side.'

"No, I'm doing this alone, to get ready for the siege."

Effie looked at him curiously. "You're already preparing to siege the Crimson Spire?" Keter nodded.

"Damn"

Cassie spoke up rather quickly knowing that Keter was about to set off. "Do you really think you can handle it? Even if you were able to break out of it before only sixty percent of its focus was on you before."

"Yeah, I believe I will be able to handle it." Cassie backed away at his words. And soon after Keter left.

--Kai POV--

Kai could tell something was up. With both Keter and Cassie being vague, and Cassie and Nephis's reactions he had to have known.

 "What was that about? The sixty percent thing."

Cassie was quiet for a while before she responded. "To the west, there is an Awakened Terror and it had all three of us in its grasp. Through Keter and some luck, we were able to make it out."

That was not what Kai was expecting at all. But before he could say anything Cassie continued.

"Without Keter, we would never have made it, because it only had to use twenty percent of its focus to keep Nephis and I under control each. Without Keter, we would have long become its minions."

Kai was shocked. He never could have imagined running into something like that. And it seemed that both Effie and Caster were on the same page as him.

Caster spoke up. "Wait but wouldn't that mean that-" Cassie's grave voice interrupted him.

"Yeah, Keter bore sixty percent of the will of an Awakened Terror and still didn't succumb."

Kai was completely dumbfounded.
