Chapter 83: Corruption
In the ruins of what had remained of the Warring Beasts Forest, every outer disciple unconsciously raised their head and looked at the figure in the sky above, who had just walked out of the broken gate.
The figure was that of a middle aged man, whose entire body was covered in strange, black tattoos.
These tattoos were composed of countless tiny runes and just one glance caused the outer disciple's eyes to sting.
When the black-robed cultists saw this middle aged man, their eyes became blurry and they immediately started howling loudly, while they shouted in a loud voice.
"My Lord!"
"The Lord of Corruption!"
"May this world become corrupted!"
Their voices was the only sound in the forest and it was quite conspicuous.
However, no one had any time to care about them.
Even though the so-called Lord of Corruption didn't take any action at all, every outer disciple felt that their thoughts were starting to slow down.
Many chaotic thoughts started to pop up in their minds, as if they were trying to corrupt them.
The disciples with the weakest will were instantly unable to hold on and lost consciousness.
Many tiny runes appeared in their bodies, forming strange black tattoos that closely resembled the middle-aged man's, except that they were way less complicated.
The Lord of Corruption noticed this scene but he didn't pay any attention to them.
For him, these people were nothing more than a bunch of ants, who he could kill wipe out with just a thought.
Turning his head, the Lord of Corruption looked at the horizon and saw that the thunder was still continuously falling.
Seeing this, he smiled slightly.
"Sure enough, this is my opportunity...", he whispered in a low voice.
"But first, let's recover some of my strength."
The moment he finished his words, hundreds of thousands of tentacles poked out of the ground and flew towards the sky, rushing towards the Lord of Corruption.
When they reached him, these tentacles drilled right into his body, like a child that had returned to its mother's embrace.
Tentacles continuously poured out of the ground and flew towards him, and each time he absorbed one of them, the Lord of Corruption's aura would increase slightly.
This increase was nothing compared to his total power, but one had to know that there were countless such tentacles.
As his power increased, the corruption that the disciples were forced to endure became even more powerful and more and more people started to show black tattoos on their bodies.
Among the people enduring this corruption was Chu Wuyao, who had now reached the edge of what remained of the Warring Beasts Forest and looked blankly at the formation that had been set up by the sect.
Even though Chu Wuyao wanted to get out, this formation didn't allow her at all.
No matter how much she attacked it, the formation remained still, not showing any changes.
The formation, which had originally been set up as a way to ensure the fairness of the sect competition had now turned into a prison, trapping these outer disciples with that terrifying existence that had descended to this world.
"Damn it! Is everyone in the Original Desire Sect an idiot?", Chu Wuyao couldn't help but curse from the anger.
The sect's enemies were able to plan and complete such conspiracy, and yet, the Original Desire Sect didn't respond at all.
Apart from Elder Ru and Elder Xi who instantly became cannon fodder, no person of the sect had stepped forward so far to stop what was happening.
Chu Wuyao had to wonder whether staying in a sect that was composed of useless people was the right choice.
Suppressing these thoughts for now, Chu Wuyao felt that there was something trying to affect her consciousness but didn't panic at all.
She had experienced this feeling many times before, whether it was because of the Blood Demon Body or whether it was because of other things.
Chu Wuyao believed that there should be no other person that had endured as much corruption as her at the Qi Accumulation Realm.
However, just when she was about to wipe out the inexplicable thoughts that had just emerged, a surprising change took place in her mind.
The picture of a white, complicated rune appeared in her mind and the next second, these thoughts disappeared on their own, as if they had committed suicide.
If it was any other time, Chu Wuyao would have investigated this change, but in her current situation, she could only note it down and try to find ways to escape.

Chu Wuyao's changes were insignificant and didn't attract anyone's attention.
Moreover, no one had the free time to pay attention to her.
The other outer disciples were busy trying to defend against the corruption, while the black-robed cultists had turned extremely fanatical, with only the Lord of Corruption in their eyes.
As for the Lord of Corruption?
At this time, his entire body had become submerged in hundreds of thousands eerie tentacles.
Time slowly passed and the time in this area seemed to flow at a completely different rate from the outside world.
No one knew whether seconds, minutes or hours had passed, but finally, the Lord of Corruption managed to absorb all the tentacles and his figure appeared once again in the sky.
However, at this time, his appearance was entirely different.

Although he was a little strange because of all the tattoos previously, if one looked at him, they would still identify him as a human.
But now, his human appearance had completely disappeared, replaced by a terrifying monster.
A huge gray ball stood alone in the blue sky, with its surface covered in countless black eyes that were filled with madness and chaos.
There were many tentacles poking from in-between the gap of those eyes and these tentacles were waving around freely, causing the space around it to shatter.
"Roooaaaar!"
A loud, eerie sound came from this creature as its many chaotic eyes looked around.
Some of these eyes focused on the outer disciples, while others focused on the black-robed cultists.
However, the Lord of Corruption didn't differentiate them at all.
His tentacles flew towards these people and whether they were disciples or cultists, the tentacles pierced through their abdomen and started sucking their blood.
In the blink of an eye, thousands of people had died and turned into the Lord of Corruption's nourishment.
It was unknown whether the Lord of Corruption enjoyed killing people or whether he wanted to recover more of his strength, but his tentacles spread all over this place, attacking every person they met on the way and sucking their blood.
While this was happening, the Lord of Corruption's many eyes looked at the formation around this place and his sight was able to pass through the formation and land on the Original Desire Sect outside.
Seeing the many disciples outside, the Lord of Corruption's eyes glowed with a bloodthirsty light.
With a thought of its mind, a portion of its tentacles stopped chasing the people below and turned towards the formation.
The next second, the tentacles hit the formation, trying to break it into pieces.
